Quincy compressors made in USA. My model is a QT-5 and is 20 years old, used at least 10 hours a day, six days a week. Redline synthetic compressor oil every year, drain moisture daily, no issues whatsoever. There are a still a few compressors made in the USA and are quality units. Baldor motors are the ones you want, durable, hi quality and made in the USA.
Everything I've read is that both Quincy and IR have gone downhill in recent years and their parts are from other countries. I couldn't decide for a long time, but I opted for the IR because it had a good name, better specs and a better warranty. Both companies had terrible reviews for anything made in the last 10 years.
I bought an IR SS4 60 gal compressor from Tractor Supply 8 months ago. I only use it in the garage occasionally and drain it regularly. It's already starting to make a knocking noise and having a hard time building pressure. I guess I should have trusted the Tractor Supply reviews and not been so insistent on buying an "American made" product.
@@joel6427 I went back to our Tractor Supply and they said I could get a full refund. The IR Master Service tech said all Single Stage pumps are POSs and I should only buy 2 stage and larger. I ended up getting a full refund because I had bought the 2 year warranty and it was less than 12 months ago. Got the 2 year warranty refunded as well.
Hello, I have an air compresor like what you showing in video I have problems with it fill the tank but when it’s time to start again the automatic doesn’t turn on and I have to reset the power to start again what can I do?
Can I use a 15kW/1450 rpm motor in place of the original 11kW/1465rpm motor? Will modifying the electrical breaker-contact arrangement be sufficient? Will reduced rpm (-15) create any mechanical problem?
We recommend using only genuine OEM parts. Using non OEM parts can have a negative effect on compressor performance and the overall reliability of the system
My compressor starts working and builds pressure up to 150psi but sometimes during work it will not start and won't keep tank charged. Sometimes it turns on only for a few seconds then goes quiet. Sometimes I hears something that it wants to start like air going somewhere through the pipe for about 2 second and then quiets and stays like that. Fails to keep up pressure in tank when I use it. Pressure goes low as 50psi but compressor doesn't start. Then I had to open drain valve to release remaining air pressure in the tank. Disconnect it from AC power for few minutes and it starts working again build up to 150psi again. I don't hear any air leaks. What could be wrong?
Carlitos Gonzalez Thanks Man. This is my next move. I looked at them with a cheater lens and put pressure on each side to make sure they were sealing so ruled them out but now know I have to do something. 👍🇺🇸🤙😃.
Carlitos Gonzalez Yes sir, walls look great. I change the oil once a year and make sure the air cleaner is clean. I have never worked on an air pump before but have built several engines. I am used to valves shaped like tulips not just a piece of metal that covers a hole. After I disassembled it the first time and replaced the head gasket and inspected every thing just by eye I searched the web for answers. Most pictures I saw of bad reeds were ones that were broken or deformed so I checked mine as close as I knew how and they weren’t sprung or raised above the seats and seem to seal the way they should. I cleaned the parts, checked the decks and head for warps and put it back together. Started it and zero pressure. It made a sound like pucka pucka like maybe bad valves or another head gasket. I have let it set until I have time to spend with it again. I have a craftsman compressor that I bought in 1988 that I had to replace the motor on about ten years ago but the pump still works great so I still have a compressor. If you have any more suggestions please feel free to comment and thanks again for your comments.👍🇺🇸🤙
Hey brothers my 60 g starts good then I hear the motor clutch cliks several times then it bugs down on 40 psi n shuts down n it won't start again ...any help pls 🙏 thanks in advance

Sounds like your pressure switch is sticking. The pressure switch is adjustable so you could try that but it probably needs replaced.
what is the size of the drain valve
My 60 gallon had a connecting rod loosen up and broke the rod, anyone have this issue?
useful info
yes, leveling off at 80 psi
Head gasket kits cost almost as much as a new pump...
I agree the price is ridiculous !!
What's the foult of main drive motor lock in 50 hp compressor
For 185 rain ingersoll don't flow air pressure
Sure wish I could get some help with this junk 60 gallon with SS5L5 compressor not building any pressure at all.
Ken Switzer change the valves (on the heads)

Are pistons in good condition?. Remove the heads, turn the flywheel and check and see if pistons are both going up and down.
