    The max counters you were able to put on, 1,073,741,824 is 2^30-1. It's kind of a strange value. I'd expect 2^31-1, which is the max value for a 32-bit signed integer. Good on the developers for not allowing it to overflow and kill your Triplets.

    • @ericbarr734
      @ericbarr734 Год назад +31

      If you cap your values at MAX/2 you know you're always safe to add two together and take the min of the result and the cap.

If I had to guess I'd probably say they have a similar cap on base creature power for the like X/X variable power creatures so that if you somehow managed to cap out both of them your creature's power would still fit in the bounds of that 32-bit signed integer.

    In the turbo fog game you might’ve been able to play mythos on your pain lands and paid as much life as possible to not draw your deck

    That was interesting to see, dealing 10, 737, 41, 82, 3 damage all at once, according to Arena.

    Props to Kohai. He obviously could have won and at the end wanted to see if he could have negated SaffronOlive's final attack before he was forced to mill out. That was a fun match to watch.😅😅😅

    If i were in the 1B game against you, my thought process would be "I could, but I just can't let this board loose, I wanna see -1 BILLION health as much as he does."

    It's funny that in that first game with someone playing a Richardesque deck, the game would've been over much sooner if you had Dowsing Dagger

    The funny thing is that Gruff Triplets isn't just a bomb in limited, it can combo with Doubling Season in limited. I did exactly that, and it was hilarious. (It wasn't great, because there was barely anything else to double, but it was funny.)

    Arena probably uses the integer data type to store the number of +1/+1 counters that are on creatures. The maximum number that can be stored in the integer data type is 2,147,483,647, which is one less than 2^31. If this is the case, it would explain why you couldn't get more than a billion or so counters with your board state in that turbo-fog game. You pushed against the limits of Arena!

    If there's one thing I've learned playing Magic, it's that if you take the greedy path when you have the win in hand, expect your avarice to make you pay. Luckily, you pulled it out, but it really could have bit ya in the ass!
