I can't believe some of these comments. Remember ... the people in those buildings were both democrats and republicans as were the firefighters and police who courageously rushed into those buildings - many to make the supreme sacrifice. Stop politicizing a day of overarching American heroism and solidarity. It would be wholly inappropriate if POTUS were not to lead the nation in commemorating this devastating and tragic terrorist attack on American soil. Remember, it was a republican president who met with the Taliban on US soil and committed the US to this "surrender". "Disrespect the fallen" and the survivors? That's EXACTLY what you're doing.

The 20 year war cost $300M a day and 2,461 lives and 9/11 was 2,996 lives but both are only 2 days US Covid deaths. The drama is over now that flights out of Kabul allow Afghans and Americans to leave Afghanistan.
