The early Yngwie strats, had a tone capacitor on each tone pot. I've never known an artist to keep changing stuff so much. The strats with the caps on the tone pots, are the best one's.
Love the ongoing background music and dialogue, lol
Thanks for watching and commenting! Was just trying to keep it a bit more lively!
Good info. Thanks rare to see so many strats in one collection.
Much appreciated! So much info not covered about these awesome strats. I like helping out with this when possible
I personally like Dimarzios, I prefer the HS2 in the bridge instead of the HS3 and the HS4, no middle pickup or disconnected as well as the tone controls, a bit of pickup surgery, if you exchange the lower coils on those pickups all of the sudden you get a HS2 Full humbucker, a hum cancelling single coil and a single coils if you like switches, the HS4 does not change but you get a bit more output on the hum-cancelling configuration
on my 2011 i customized completely bypassing the tone pots and also re wiring the complete thing including the pickups with vintage cloth wiring.
I did this on one of mine as well, much brighter
Thank you for making this video. I couldn’t find much info online regarding the differences between the “Official Pickguard” and the one that comes on his signature strat. Does the official pick guard come with the YJM low-friction volume pot?
Absolutely, I don't know why it took me so long to make it lol. Yes, it comes with the Seymour Duncan YJM Signature "speed" pot for volume. No clue why they would make an "Official" pickguard and not make it the same as the signature models 🤷♂️. Honestly it's only missing the no load tone pot, but still, annoying.
Thanks for watching!
Hey mate is the neck pick up equipped with no load bypass or just the bridge pick up on the original
If all of those fenders in the back are yjm models. I can imagine you are a very happy person lol. Plz sell me one 😂
Yngwie malmsteen....no estoy seguro que haya utilizado components Roland en su stratocaster . Saludos desde Puerto Rico y un abrazo respetuoso.
I really think his tone has suffered since he went to Duncans.
I do much prefer his early tone! Now it's not nearly as specific and precise. I think he does this to help cover his slightly diminished playing. He's starting to make more mistakes and miss notes on runs etc. It's a miracle someone can shred for so long and still be so good. That said, I do prefer the Duncan's for my own playing style, I like the higher output, punch & crunch you get from them.
@@xounlistedxox I'm not gonna comment on if Yngwie is not playing as well. But for me, I'm a Dimarzio fan. I usually try to keep the stock pickups though.
Hi :) awesome video, thanks :) whats the right pickups height for Fury pickups?
Every guitar is different. As high as possible before it takes away sustain
I just got the “YJM Fury Loaded Pickguard” and found that the tone pot is bypassed when using the bridge pickup. (But only in the bridge position)
How did you find this out?
@@xounlistedxox Because I’ve just installed the “Loaded Pickguard.” It’s very simple to test, just by rolling down the tone controls when the pickup is selected.
Nothing happens in the bridge position (like the original fender design) but the neck & middle respond to the tone controls.
It’s like my DK24 when the tones at 10, gives it more balls. My Fury bridge pickup surprisingly has more punch than the DK24 full shred humbucker.
The Fury pickups are incredible imo. Best pickups I’ve ever owned anyways.
Hi Brandon, you are the only one can help me looks like. I’m trying to build Malmsteen strat
Can you tell me what I need to buy exactly? should I buy parts separately or buy loaded pickguard and change the tone pot?
Can you give me Amazon link for the parts?
Thank you
You would be better off buying the guitar complete. If you build a partscaster it will unlikely be worth what you have to spend on the individual parts.
Unless you're a skilled luthier and can scallop your own neck, save yourself some $ and buy a complete guitar.
The YJM guitars have his pickups/ pots, scalloped board, brass nut. Other than that they're pretty much a 70's strat
the Yngwie pickguard is wrong , Yngwie has the tone pots disconnected, he s using only the volume pot
Do you know what brand of 3 way switches were used in the American models? Oak or CRL?
Switchcraft IIRC
Really? I wasn't aware Switchcraft made 3 way/5 way blade switches. @@xounlistedxox
@@oneecchiboi5412 I'll have to take a look next time I pull a pickguard
Have you tried the EVH low fiction volume pot compared to the YJM speed volume pot? the YJM Japanese strats have different volume pots compared to the American YJM start pots, have you noticed a difference?
I haven't tried the EVH pots at all unfortunately. The MIJ volume pots when clean/lubricated are actually easier to turn than the duncan speed volume pot surprisingly. Allegedly YJM used the MIJ pots for many years
@@xounlistedxox Yngwie has said in interviews that he would take out the Japanese strats in the 80's japan models by fender because the volume pots in Japanese strats volume pots are faster speed. Are theses MIJ pots or what pots are in your YJM American guitars and Japans models YJM guitars you own are all MIJ pots or what pots are they using in those artist series models you own?
@@waynegram8907 all the pots in mine are factory for whatever came with the guitar
@@xounlistedxox one day when you open up your guitars look at the brand name on the pots because it should say Allen Bradley or something on them.
@@waynegram8907 cts, Seymour Duncan, or Made in Japan is all I recall being stamped on them other than date codes
BRANDON, What shelf unit are you using because I can't find one that holds all my guitars in gigbacks and I have those multi stand cases which holds like 6 guitars per multi stand case which I see you put on top of the shelf. Did you build this DIY or purchase this?
These are racks from Costco along with guitar stands from Proline. If you find their older 5 spot guitar stand it will actually hold 7
@@xounlistedxox is the shelf made by trinity? The width is 14inch or 16inch to fit the guitar multiple stand?
@waynegram8907 I made a video, not sure the brand, but it will be uploaded momentarily
@@xounlistedxox thank let me check out the video

Queensryche on the background....hey!!
😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
I can't bought hs3 dimarzio I bought pickguard with 3 pick up hot rail model made in china..the sound is good..for me..🤟
Extremely different pickups
I’ve heard from several luthier is that the tinfoil behind the pick guard is not necessary with HS3s can anyone verify this that has YJM strats TY
You need all the shielding and noise cancelling stuff possible, the dimarzios like to go microphonic quick!
Funny, how they are not all exactly the same, huh?
Yeah Is, I was actually disappointed
