Terry Wogan, Bruce Forsythe, Des O'Connor. Bob Monkhouse. Always feels strange that these guys have passed away. Still expecting to see them whenever i turn on the T.V. RIP Fellas.
There like will never pass this way again
A great bunch, these now are but poor shadows.
I feel exactly the same way, it just doesn't feel that they've gone.
@@MrDaiseymay Very apt comment after the recent death of Jim Seals from Seals and Croft who sang the wonderful song "We Shall Never Pass This Way Again"
I Didn't know Terry was Even Dead Gosh..
I met Terry in his native Limerick in 2013, he was just walking down by the waterfront not far from where his bronze statue now stands... I was a bit apprehensive approaching him ... I just wanted to thank him for all the happy memories, I needn't have worried, he was an absolute gentleman and treated me like I was an old friend.... he left me with a warm happy feeling that I'll always remember. Rest in peace Sir Terry.
How lovely.
I Loved Terry’s commentary on the Eurovision Song Contest, his witty narrative made up for our country never winning😇
As a wee lad aged just 9, and following a car accident in which I broke my femur and suffered lacerations to my whole body, especially to my face which apparently made me unrecognisable, Sir Terry became my life and made me a lifelong fan in all he did. After 3 months in hospital I was bedridden for a further 6 months at home and every single day when I woke up my Mum would turn my new ‘welcome home’ radio on so I could listen to Sir Terry on his morning radio show. His voice was so soothing, and his calmness something I’d never experienced before, and put simply he became my ‘hero’, even more after reading out my Mum’s letter to him! Sir Terry thank you for everything. It’s fair to say that by reading these comments you, Sir, are missed by millions. Rest in peace ‘Tel’.
What a beautiful place to be laid to rest. Thanks for finding him, and total respect for not saying where it is. Hopefully it will lead to more private places you can show us. Great vid Paul. Thank you.
I’m feeling quite choked having watched that….how simple and non ostentatious his final resting place is, and such a beautiful serene place…
He never seemed to like lots of fuss, and he seems to have carried it through to the end. Cancer is so insidious, and 77 is no age. We certainly lost a treasure when he passed away, so we were very lucky to have his. Lovely voice to listen to and keep us going daily on radio two for as long as we did. RIP Sir Terry…always missed, and Thankyou for everything. 🙏😘💐xxx
77 is no age??
That memorial at his graveside is much like Sir Terry's character in some ways - understated, no ego trip but fabulously perfect. His Janet and John series on radio still has me laughing so much. Graham Norton always pays his respects to Sir Terry when it's Eurovision which is as it should be. To think of the large audiences who tuned in to the Wogan radio show daily - that will never be repeated. Neither will he.
What a beautiful and peaceful place .A perfect place for a lovely soul.Thank you for sharing that with us.We will never forget Terry Wogan.God rest his soul.
I loved Terry Wogan listened to him every morning getting read for school in the 70s watched him on Tv in the 80s RIP Terry we miss you so much
Yes I used to listen to him every morning before school in the 70's too. What great memories they were!
@@sharoncarter4086 as did i ..im 54 now and mum drove me to school every morning in the 70s and terry was the only one we listened too ..R.I.P. terry
@@rogerjsy Great day's, he had a wonderfully warm voice. Fantastic as a eurovision comentator, the best!
I commuted from Cheltenham to Bristol with my father in the early 80’s and we listened to Terry Wogan every morning- when it changed to Derek Jameson it wasn’t the same.
Everything that Terry did I liked and enjoyed, bless him.
I loved listening to Terry and Jimmy Young on the radio in the mornings, the banter between those two was priceless.(This is going back to the 60s & 70s) Oh,happy days.RIP Terry, you are so sadly missed.Such a beautiful setting to be laid to rest.
wow, what a modest memorial - at the end of the day we are all equal. His radio 2 programme was a real comfort to me on many, many occasions and his attitude to the Eurovision Song Contest was so accurate.
When SBS in Australia first started to show Eurovision, normally on a Sunday night so had to try and avoid any news during the day.
Terry Wogan was the host of the Eurovision telecast at the time.
What a peaceful beautiful resting place for Sir Terry Wogan. Truly missed, great on the radio and tv . RIP Sir T Wogan.
Place not play!
You can edit your comments mind if you make a mistake.
Sir Terry Wogan didn't reveal to the media he had cancer he kept he illness private too many showbusiness people tell the media everything today.
I hope he was buried back in IRELAND LOVE TEL HE WAS A CREDIT TO ALL IRISH PEOPLE
Terry Wogan Irish wit always made me laugh 🤣 on the 💶 Eurovision song contest.
I loved the way Terry Wogan would calmly dismantle the idiots on Eurovision, for our entertainment. Such a funny man. Thanks for the video.
A voice that the nation will never forget! RIP SIR TERRY!
Me too , body of a racing snake used to get me every time 😂
My favourite memories of Terry, have to be the Janet and John stories that he told, they had me in stitches.. may you rest in peace Sir..🙂
I'm afraid that I was the guilty party for those. I was privileged to know the man for 14 years. He was every bit as kind as you would imagine he might be. A little quieter, and slightly more 'sweary', but I never saw him not have time for people. He would often have people waiting for him outside what is now Wogan House, and it might be tipping down with rain, with his faithful driver, Dennis waiting, but he would stand patiently as they searched in their bag for a camera, or a book to sign. It is typical of the man to have such an understated memorial, but equally typical that his family would always come first and fitting that the memorial words would be about and from them. We will not see his like again.
I lived in England in the mid-1980s and loved watching his T.V.show. This is the first I learned that he had passed away. Sad to hear it. I live in Canada and many British T.V. celebrities are not widely known here at all. I liked the man a lot and my condolences go out to his family and friends. R.I.P. Terry.
He was a one off! Such a peaceful place. So many favourites moments but Blankety Blank when one celebrity broke his mic. Loved how he handled it.
Like everyone has said in their comments, can’t wait for this one! Not so much sad but strange that Terry is no longer with us as it seemed that every time you turned on the radio Terry was there and bringing a calmness to the day, no matter how traumatic it seemed to be. I particularly looked forward to the pre-handover chats between Terry and Jimmy Young every morning in the late 70’s, a highlight of any weekday morning. Can’t believe it’s 7 years since he left us and huge hole in British broadcasting.
Absolutely Mark. I still feel sad and can get tearful when I think of him passing which is a bit ridiculous since I didn't know him. Maybe it's because I associate him with a happy childhoid but I also listened to him up until he left his breakfast radio show, so can't be that. No. One has ever replaced him successfully in my eyes... That gentle wit, that sardonic clever humour gently easing me into my day.... Greatly missed
Terry Wogan, we’ll known for playing Eva Cassidy’ swing, “Somewhere over the rainbow” and bringing her to prominence. A very good radio + tv presenter. Taken way too soon. R.I.P Sir. 🙏🏼
I absolutely agree @Mark Smith. You said it perfectly. And so spot on. I miss all the characters of Radio/Screen in the 70s. The comforting sound of Terry Wogan and Jimmy Young was so calming. My Dad always used to listen to them always. 😪 I miss them so much.
@@jujulionesselsa1416: Off topic slightly. Not sure if you are old enough to remember but I was a child in the 60’s and listened to Jimmy Young on the BBC Light Program before he transferred to the ‘new’ Radio 2. Jim used to have a listeners recipe every day which he introduced with a character called Raymondo who would leap through the kitchen window and say, ‘What’s the recipe today Jim?’ Happy days. 😊
Meant Radio 1…..JY transferred to Radio 2 in 1973 I think.
Terry Wogan, the man who charged a £10,000 fee to host Children in Need
Plus exploited a man with alcohol and mental health problems and plied George Best with booze so he would be paralytic on his show. That is the BBC for you who will stoop to low standards to get publicity
His voice was awesome . He was the show of radio fullstop .RIP Terry 🍀
I grew up with Terry, getting ready for school and he was on the radio, started work and he was still on the radio, listened to him all my life and miss his dulcet tones to this day. All those wonderful memories of the odd songs he would play now and then, Janet and John, the TOG's and Eurovision isn't the same without his hilarious commentary, RIP Sir Terry.
Brilliant. Looking forward to this. Loved his Janet and John stories
ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO PAUL
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL PLACE TO BE BURIED SURROUNDED BY ALL THOSE MAJESTIC TREES AND LOVELY WOODLAND
TERRY WÀS A ONE OFF A REALLY NICE GUY WHEN I THINK OF HIM
ITS HIS SMILE I ALWAYS REMEMBER SUCH A GEM OF A MAN
R I P SIR TERRY 🥀
Terry had the best radio voice ever .
I thought sir Terry was the voice of BBC so smooth RIP sir Terry.
Never seen a graveyard like this with wooden plaques instead of headstones. What a beautiful and peaceful place to be buried.
There was a lot of shock deaths that year in the celeb world - and personally for me as well - but Terry's got to me the most. Probably because was a gentle Irishman like my own grandad who passed only a couple of months after him. I loved watching Children in Need with him presenting, it just hasn't been the same since. When he stared into the camera and gently and calmly asked people to give what they could - you felt his sincerity and passion for the cause. All these loud and bash celebrities that have replaced him since though, call me a cynic, but it feels as though a lot of them are only there for the exposure. I skip through most of it these days - it just doesn't have the charm or the motivation it once had when Terry was in charge.
You know, when Sir Terry died I was a bit resentful towards his family for not sharing his final journey with the world , but as time goes by I totally understand their desire to privacy, he entertained millions for years but still had to maintain a sense of normality for his family. Do I respect you for keeping his resting place a closely guarded secret , yes I do because I've wanted to see it for a long time, so if it gets you access to share other greats with us then keeping your word goes without saying !
Just to add,I too resented not knowing his last resting place. Not being able to visit, just not knowing.Another is,Pete Postlethwaite, who I have watched in Brassed off,so many times,as thought he was brilliant .Maybe Yorkshire would be a bit too far ?
@@janetwheal8102 He was brilliant in Sharpe. Pete was in Alien 3 as well.
Thanks for doing this one. His Janet & John stories made us howl. Miss him and his humour so much.
Mr children in need , absolute legend , and another rich and famous celeb with such a humble grave RIP sir Terry
I always got ready for school listening to him on the radio. Sir Terry is an absolute legend of radio and TV. Please Don't forget everyone to raise your glass during song 9 for Terry during Eurovision. RIP Sir Terry. Gone but never forgotten 🌹 🙏💜
RIP Sir Terry, never had a bad word to say about anyone. Sadly missed by many of us TOGS
Always brought a smile to my face a true National Treasure. Woodland burials are such lovely things peaceful serene and a super final resting place. Terry made Eurovision ❤️
Fantastic post Paul, for me this is the best one yet. And yes you are very correct when you describe Terry as a " Legend ", because that is what this man was. The best DJ by far for me. Totally unsurpassed, noone compares. I miss him. Thank you Paul.
Didn't feel like a weekday morning without "Wake up to Wogan". My Dad woke me for school around 7am, had a shower and was dressed having breakfast listening to Wogan.
He was (as people say) Mr Eurovision as well, his quips between acts was just magical. Graham Norton tries, he's good but he's not Sir Terry Wogan
Such a beautiful resting place surrounded by beautiful trees. So peaceful.
Two brilliant Irish presenters, Wogan and Norton,
This one is extra special as this is probably the only way most of us fans will be able to see Terry’s final resting place… Thank you Paul.
Sir Terry was genuinely a broadcasting legend. Strange he's still not with us. Seemed like he'd always be around.
Remember listening to him one morning driving. I was laughing so much I had to pull over. Met him once in the car park of the old BBC theatre, lovely, lovely man - so gracious, such humanity.
Thanks Paul,Wherever that is,the beauty and serenity is fitting, for Sir Terry.I still find it hard to acknowledge that the great man is no longer with us.The World is a poorer place without him.
An absolute legend,sadly,sadly missed.
I worked with Terry on his chat show (I was a cameraman) and he was an absolute gent. Same guy off the screen that you saw onscreen. Lovely guy, much missed.
Great to hear, thank you for sharing. 🙏
Hiya, Paul! As a native of the Island of Ireland, but more specifically Northern Ireland, your upload about Sir Terry's resting place is superb. As the family featured in your upload, my parents would often walk us (as children) through our local Movilla Cemetery, recognising and remembering names and people on the headstones we could see. Your uploads are superb Paul, and you are a great presenter. I'd love to meet you face to face, some day ❤👍👍👍
Did Terry bury in back in Ireland then?
Hi, Paul that was one of the best episodes you have done, what a legend and to be one in your own time is so rare, l used to listen to him on Radio Two and he could always make you laugh didn't matter how you were feeling he is sorely missed, and his Eurovision commentary was so great it was worth watching it just to hear him, well done to you for showing integrity in not telling the location and anyway you took us there so why would we need to go there that's the whole point.
I've always found it a bit hard to accept Terry has gone and to a degree Bruce Forsyth...their lives were played out on our TV and radios even in retirement, a sad loss but nice bit of respect from Paul on him.
i have total respect for you paul for what you do for us, Sir Tery Wogan was and will always be a national treasure
I met Terry Wogan on the island of Sark when I was around 6 years old. I’m now 32 😀 I didn’t know who he was at the time but my dad asked him to have a photo with me. I must look for it. A lovely resting place for him. Looks so peaceful.
Listened to Terry every morning before I went to work and laughed so often. He certainly was a legend. A wonderful man - how his family must miss him. A beautiful resting place but gone too soon. He was amazing. Bless him wherever he is.
Thank you Paul without doubt one of your best. Terry was a true legend as you say and is sorely missed.
I met Terry a couple of times. Firstly in 1970 when he invited me to Radio 1 and at two recordings of his Radio 4 chat show recorded at the Royal agricultural show at Stoneleigh in Warwickshire. He was an absolute delight and entertaining. The best Breakfast show host bar non.
Sir Terry, BBC Radio and TV Legend we will not see his likes again, such a professional and a lovely man. What a beautiful resting place for him R.I.P. Sir Terry we miss you so much and a lovely tribute to the great man thank you, Paul.
Thank you Paul. He took the sunshine with him. Radio for sure was my favourite memory... All the laugh out loud moments. Thank you sir Terry for all you did.
I wrote a poem, he read it out on air 'The Nuneaton Pyramid'.
Terry reading the Janet and John stories on Radio 2 had me laughing all the way to work, during work and driving back home. 🤣
Ray Towey….I never knew he read these...I will hunt them out on RUclips 👍👍
@@lafreewaylafreeway hope you do, you won't be disappointed 👍
Loved listening to Terry, he was really funny too, and who can forget The Floral Dance
Beautiful place of rest for a beautiful soul. He brought so much joy to so many peoples lives, genuinely made a massive difference to others lives. Wonderful video and tribute 👍
Another very good but poignant video as Sir Terry was taken far too early. He is buried in a lovely place. I enjoyed watching him on TV on his talk show and witty comments during the Eurovision song contests. I remember he was never nasty but gently took the Mickey out of the weird and wonderful contestants. You're right Paul he was a rare gentleman. Missed. RIP Sir Terry.
What a great resting place. RIP Sir Terry. You are a national treasure. An icon. X Thank you for all you did in children in need x
Such a sad loss to the world of entertainment. A gentleman who really did make you smile. R.I.P sir Terry gone but never forgotten. 🙏♥️
My husband’s best friend was Terry Wogan’s gardener.
Wow what a beautiful place to be buried, so peaceful and natural. He is sadly missed he was a lovely man. It is still strange not seeing him on TV . Thank you Paul 🙏🏼❤️
A brilliant broadcaster and a lovely man. His tireless support for the BBC's Children in Need charity was absolutely incredible God bless you Sir Terry ❤ 😊
I agree Paul, I work in radio myself, and Sir Terry was the Gold Standard of how to broadcast! He is greatly missed, but respect his family's privacy. Thank you for sharing this lovely tribute to him! Loved his stories of Janet & John, his humour was unsurpassed!
Loved his beautiful warm soft Irish brogue which he never lost after many years in the UK Lord rest him
He was a legend! One of the celebrities you think is still alive, even though I know he passed.
What a beautiful and peaceful location though he now rests. Quite unassuming but beautiful.
Me and friends including Terrys Son used to play in the hay barn that was opposite his house as kids, he used to come over with glasses of squash and biscuits. Great days top man
Sir Terry is one of the ones I feel sad about when I remember he's no longer with us. He had a lovely voice and was always entertaining. I was born in 1980 so I grew up with him on the telly.
Couldn't stand Terry Wogan.thought he was over rated.just my opinion
Thank you for that. Being an Irishman I respect you showing that. R.I.P Terry and rest in peace to all who have gone before us.
A very likable radio personality with a huge collection of wigs ..... 👶
Hey Paul. My favourite one so far. Loved Terry & miss him. What an incredible resting place. Much respect for keeping the location quiet. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to who else you come up with 😊
Another great vid Paul, and the fact you were given the such privileged information to enable this video is a testament to your presenting skills. I grew up listening to Terry on the radio, and I still, have fond memories of listening to him. A legend we will never likely see similar of ever again. Rip
Cheers Dan 🙏
My colleague and I met Terry at Bath's assembly rooms many years ago,and first thing we noticed was what a gentleman he was. You can't replace someone like Terry, because he is irreplaceable. Thank you for showing us his final resting place.
Legends can never be replaced, R.I.P Sir Terry Wogan, I hope these tributes give the families some comfort. All the best, from my family to yours. 👍
Sir Terry Wogan just had one of them voice’s that was nice to listen to, not to mention a brilliant sense of humour, especially on the Eurovision Song Contest. You should visit Paul Danielle’s grave.
Terry, Eamon Andrews and Gay Byrne were all Irish RTE employees at around the same time but Gay Byrne was the only one who remained in Irish broadcasting throughout his career. He was approached by the BBC but turned it down. The BBC have always had a history of stealing Irish radio or tv personalities by being able to offer them more money than RTE could at the time. Terry never forgot his Irish roots though and would make the occasional appearance on Irish Radio thoughout his life and is remembered for doing a program called Hospital requests. RIP terry, you legend.
He grew up near to where I lived in Dublin and many years later he visited my place of work in Leinster House to do a broadcast and he really went out of his way to say hello to us mere mortals 😀 nice to see he has a nice resting place , thank you👍
Thank you. Met the great man at a book signing here in Dublin he was lovely. I know it was tough for him starting out at the BBC in the early 70’s but he persevered to become a legend. RIP Terry Wogan.(Sir)😉
I used to listen to Terry every morning going to work in the 1970's and he made my day! He was a credit to Ireland in those day's of the troubles.
It's a pity Terry wogan worked for the BBC Jimmy Savile and all😡
Recently discovered Unusual Things and enjoy it. Have you thought of visiting the grave of Pocahontas, buried 21/3/1617 at St George's Church, Gravesend. Must be an interesting back story.
Sir Terry kept me sane in 1977 while my husband was serving away. I use to listen to him every morning. Thank you Sir Terry
X
I met him when I was younger, such a nice down to earth man. May he rest in peace 🕊
I can honestly say I completely forgot Terry Wogan had passed away, used to listen to him when I was working all the time, loved this video Paul, brilliant, thanks mate.
He was a lovely, lovely man. I used to work for HP in Berkshire . He’d always phone for his ink cartridges from us. He’d always say,
Hello hello hello, and how are you this morning. He’d always make me laugh. Loved him on the radio too. He introduced me to the wonderful singer Eva Cassidy by playing her music. I miss hearing his voice. R.I.P Tel. Gone but certainly not forgotten .😘🌹
I went right off this man after hearing about all the money he was making doing Children in Need, When most of the celebs were donating their time he was earning and playing the fake good guy.
One of the best of the best that there was during his time period. Brings a sadness to think of the good times he had given to one and all. Rest in peace Sir.
I loved watching Terry Wogan Growing up... God Bless You RIP
Many thanks for this, I listened to Sir Terry for 25 yrs .
He made me cry with laughter and sadness on his passing.
I’m so pleased you have kept his final resting place a secret, big respect to you for that.
RIP Sir Terry ❤️
‘Legend’ I think you summed it up in one word Paul. I still sort of expect to hear his voice on Children In Need or Eurovision. Great video Paul really moving.
Terry Wogan just seemed a very funny but calm, but entertaining presenter. I remember him going from TV to radio. He just had the soothing Irish voice which you grow to love hearing. Yes he certainly died before his time, and to be honest they don't have any like him. Cool and beautiful place he is buried at, and very beautiful. Well done Paul.

Terry was the best TV personality he could do any show I loved him when he commentated on the euro vision song contest if you have not seen him do the euro watch it he was hilarious he is sadly missed by me 😔😔

Sir Terry was a great DJ, Tv presenter.
I always liked the humorous comments he made when he hosted the Eurovision Song Contest each year.

You maybe gone but never forgotten.
A TV and radio legend, i really miss Sir Terry Wogans commentary on the Eurovision song contest he always found somthing funny about all the contestants! RIP Sir Terry Wogan. 💐💐💐
I loved Sir Terry, remember listening and watching him when I was a child, he is so sadly missed, what a lovely place and so fitting for such a great legend, thank you so much for making this video, totally amazing.
And now we're stuck with Zoe Ball doing the breakfast show.
I tried Chris Evans for a bit... Partly because he was so find of Terry. Not listened since he left.
