My Nan and Grandad and Uncle are buried here. It really is a beautiful peaceful place. They are in such great company.
My son is buried here, nice to know he is in good company 👼
May he Rest in Peace Lorraine .
I loved John Pertwee he was so gifted with talent & Worzel Gumadge I absolutely loved it I watched every episode. And he was my favourite Dr Who. Bless them all the, the carry on team etc. They brought us so much joy.
I loved John to watched all the worzel episodes and was lucky enough to meet him when I was 11 😊
My favourite Dr Who as well.
I loved Joan in the carry on films, & she was brilliant in an episode of only fools & horses. RIP Joan, back with your wonderful Hattie 🙏
Jon Pertwee what a bloke…loved worzel gummidge…hope he is having a nice cup of tea & a slice of cake in the ten acre field in the sky😊
Thank you Paul
Worzel and basil brush great
Yes with Aunt Sally!😂😂
RIP Jon pertwee
RIP to all the legends. I live right opposite from where Hattie Jacques used to live in Earls Court. I can see her blue plaque from my window.
My friend lives in that flat
Hattie, Kenneth and Sid were fabulous
It was a shame you couldn't find the plaques you were looking for, but what a beautiful place to spend eternity? Thanks for showing us this lovely space which is beautifully kept. Big shout out for the groundskeepers.
It was such a lovely place. . Worth a visit without finding the celebrities 👌
I recently ordered a blu ray worth about a tenner and was mistakenly sent a DVD boxset of the Carry On films, about 32 of them, by mistake worth £35. I was going to send it back but decided to keep it. Have just been watching them and realised just how much , as a 60 year old, I still love those films. The stars and films took me back to a nostalgic past which I miss more than I care to admit. Hattie Jacques and John Pertwee, among so many who have now passed, provided so much enjoyment to our generations and those who have followed. I think we were lucky to live at the time of these legends. I spoke to June Whitfield while waiting to get luunch in a sandwich bar and Arthur Lowe in a pub at lunchtime when I worked in London in the early 80s. In the 60s, when I was very small my dad and I were walking down an alleyway in the Soho area where dad worked in an oil company, when the backdoor of a small theatre opened and a man popped out placing an empty beer crate on the pavement. He looked up and I recognised him as Sid James. I remember shouting to my father that it was Sid and he looked up and gave me that cheeky smile that we all saw so often in the Carry Ons. I will always remember that moment and cherish it. RIP all you legends.
All these great actors and actress's we watched from our childhood. Brings back lots of memories from growing up.
Great channel Paul
Well done mate
Gra Thomson old sgt
I grew up with them too. When I watch them on TV , to me ther still alive, it's like time is frozen. So the moment I'm watching them , ther still alive to me . Hope I described it right and not just described the obvious.. if your like minded as I you will know what I meant 😁
I never knew Kenneth proposed a marriage of convenience to Joan, bless him. Poor little Anthony, it's always hard to hear about any child passing away. Thank you for helping to keep their memory alive. It's a dream of mine to one day visit Golders Green Cemetery where Keith Moons ashes were scattered.
In the excellent 2006 BBC dramatized play based on the diaries of Kenneth Williams called 'Fantabulosa !'. Williams (acted by Michael Sheen) and Joan Simms (Beattie Edney) show the awkward marriage proposal.
I loved the Carry On movie series. I own them all on DVD. I met and worked with Sid James in 1975, in Brisbane, Australia. Sid was a true gentleman, very friendly. My late father knew Charles Hawtrey in around 1939-40. Charles Hawtrey employed my dad to shoot the rats on Charles' property while he was away in London doing radio shows. My mum knew John Pertwee, who taught my mum how to make a simple delicious salad dressing. I use his recipe myself to this day.
Would you share the recipe please?
My 14 year old son loves Sid ,I'm glad he is looking up to a gentleman x
Loved jon Pertwee, I grew up watching worzel gummidge, great childhood memories..x
Thank you. Especially finding out were Joan Sims and Hattie Jacques final resting place is. ( is that right if your cremated) 😉love the Carry Ons.
Jon Pertwee served on HMS Hood but was taken off her for Officer training before The Hood was lost in the north Atlantic in a battle against The Bismarck. I think only three of The Hood's crew survived.
Its amazing how many of the stars of those great comedy shows and films like the Carry On's, Dad's Army etc suffered with alcoholism.
Beautiful crematorium and with so many wonderful actors and actresses resting there! The carry on films always brighten your mood when you watch them, timeless classics! ❤
Paul, your videos are NEVER boring. Even if you don’t find plaques or graves, the places you go to are beautiful. The scenery, the serenity, the churches and the snippets of information you give us make for great videos. Cheers. 👍😃
What a carry on. The best of the best of the best. Thankfully they were born at
the right time and place to show the very best of the British sense of humour.
I met Barbara Windsor in 1968 at the Coral Playa Hotel Magaluf.
What a lovley friendy person, she was with Ronnie Knight relaxing
after making another carry on, i think it was Henery.
A cinema in Japan just shows carry ons 24hr a day.
They are all buried in our culture and our hearts.
As i live in North Wales up the Khyber is very close to me.
Carry on forever.
What a beautiful place, so neat, tidy and peaceful.
Not just for the dead, but the living as well. What a wonderful spot for Hattie Jacques ashes to be scattered. Like you say, she has probably been absorbed by the nearby tree. What a wonderful thought...🙂👍🏻
Been fan of Carry on films, doctor who, dad army,
Worrall gumbadge & Aunt Sally ❤️
🥰 so wonderful xx
Got to meet Jon Pertwee here in Australia back in 91 may he rest in peace
I didn’t realise how young she was when Hatty passed on. All those carry one films, I thought she was older? Maybe because I was younger &when they came out & after watching to reruns many times, just shocked me. But great tour with lots of information on others, thanks Paul mx
I'm on the Anthony Nolan list to donate bone marrow, been on it years and years... ... lovely video, thanks .xx
It was a sham you not couldn't find the place 🙏🤗 Very beautiful place 💖 Thank you, for showing us the beautiful place💕🌟, and keep it alive,❣️ And memorial too ❤️🌟🌟🌟💕
Stanley Baxter is 96 tomorrow.. just saying, in anticipation that he will enjoy a healthy, peaceful birthday..
Thank you for the memories, Stan.
Wow thanks for this, Stanley and Norman one of the bests..
Hi Paul, thankyou and what a beautiful and peaceful cemetery and although it is a shame you didn't find the plaques but let's face it you had your work cut out so don't envy you trying but was still good and on Joan sims, she was in, 'on the up' and we were just talking about her as Dennis waterman just passed and she was in it with him and his line in it to her when she had a drink was, " just the 1 mrs Wembley" as that's what she use to say when having a drink and so I always say this too 😂 you probably too young to not remember that comedy like I do haha and also sid James died on the stage of the sunderland empire(my home town)😥 such a loss all carry on team all a great miss.
Hattie Jaques what a blinding actress! RIP Hattie!
Thanks! Very interesting. Quite a beautiful & restful resting place.
Oh I loved the original Dr.Who 💕
Gday from The Whitsundays, Queensland, Australia Paul 👍
Kellie
Thanks for sharing Paul very interesting lovely cemetery hope they are all resting in peace 🙏💐 thanks again 👍
Thanks for another video - we really appreciate them all 😀
Getting though the videos Paul. So many amazing people lost 😢. Jon Pertwee such a lovely man 👍🏻❤️
My parents and grandparents are cremated there. My parents and I lived in Roehampton from 1970. Dad only passed away december 2022. It would have been his 86th birthday today. I dont live in London anymore but when my time comes this is where I want to be, with my family. Thanks for visiting here. It is a lovely place to rest.
I've tried hard myself to find them... sadly most of the carry on stars don't have a marker of any sort, like you say it's what they and there families wanted, but it is so sad that as a fan we can't show our respects to them for all the laughter they've given us... another great one mate, keep it up! 😎👍
Well said and I agree it's very sad we can't see were there at rest ,and pay our respects I can't think of any other people ,than the carry on crew that gave so much to so many with joy and laughter .
All these people were real characters reminds me of being kid in the 70s we watched the carry on films god bless them all 🙏❤️
Cheers for the upload Paul, I forgot all about Anthony Nolan, I still remember Esther Rantzen campaigning about bone marrow donations back in the day..again, nice one sir 👍
What a beautiful resting place …. Thankyou again as always Paul , u can NEVER be boring ….much love as always 2 u ❤️ RIP to ALL who rest there xxx
Always loved the carry on films with good old Joan sims and hattie jacques, always made me laugh 😃
A great presentation Freind ,worthy of them for sure .
So much joy the carry on films gave God Bless um all ❤️
So glad you did Jon Pertwee! One of my all time favourites 👍🏻
Mrs H ... Paul I've got to say you bring back some fantastic memories of the shows I grew up watching with my mother... Thank You for not letting these great people be forgotten... God Bless them all ❤
I loved Joan Simms!RIP Beautuful Lady.
What a lovely resting place, love the water feature, reckon it keeps them awake lol. Shame that you couldn't find the plaques but still enjoying your vlogs
Appreciate the work you put into finding famous graves. This was a beautiful place to see regardless if you found their plaque or not.I love the idea of ashes being interred under a rosebush such a sweet memorial.
One of my little girls favourite doctors is Jon Pertwee. She calls him 'the moves baby' lol as his doctor was very James bond like. We often spend our weekends with a bowl of popcorn watching the 3rd doctor, ive not told her he is in heaven yet as she is young and truely believes he is the doctor that can live for many years. Let the youth have their innocence, as the older we get it just gets worse xx
Loved Worzel Gummidge and all the carry ons....sadly mostly passed on
Thanks Paul ❤
I actually found this very interesting it didn't matter you didn't find any plaques it's a lovely cemetery and was great seeing where Hattie jaques ashes were scattered very informative thankyou Paul
Good job for trying to find anyone Paul, needle in a haystack stuff, still a nice place to see though 👍
Hattie was also in the Hancock Radio show. Tony told Hat "my mother was a bad cook, but even her gravy moved about a bit". Great British comedy 🏴🏴🏴🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Ahh thanks paul love it ,brilliant 😘

Hi paul. Love your blogs. I would like you to find warren Mitchell’s grave. Keep up the great work.......
i been to Brian jones grave in Cheltenham and john Bonham in Worcestershire. really enjoy your videos
Get ready for a very long video when you get to Golders Green! Almost every well known name from the theatre, films and music are interred or have a memorial plaque. In particular, take a look at the Jewish section; unbelievable.
Thanks for your videos. 👍
Even just trying to find them shows immense respect! Well done Paul.
Brilliant paul every video you bring out is fantastic 👏 👏
I loved Hattie and i never knew she was married to John Le whoisit. Some great names and interesting stories here, thank you. I try and read the plaques but i can't read them quick enough. Thank you for this Paul xx

Really interesting video. Jon Pertwee was a personal favourite actor of mine and his son, Sean is equally talented.
Never got tried of watching Carry on films , still watch them today , May they all Rest in peace 💞
Thanks Paul, even if you didn't find the names on a memorial plaque, we still remember them thanks to the films they were in and your informative videos. Should have called this shoot 'Carry on Searching'! 😁
Ha ha yeh good shout for a title…. Might change the thumbnail picture 🤣😂
@@UnusualThings1 Hattie Jaques is there she's near Rose Panel 16 underneath a big oak tree, Joan sims isn't far from her

Such a beautiful cemetery Paul. It is hard finding all the markers, but it was still interesting. At least you found the approx area of where Hatti Jake's had her ashes scattered. Well done.
Brilliant video Paul,it WAS very interesting, some great stars there, loved by millions.Hattie was also in one of my favourite films 'Make mine mink' very funny film, well worth looking up.If possible Paul, could I please put a request in for the great Terry Thomas, he always made me laugh, another legend.I believe he was cremated aswell. Many thanks.
I love how you respect the people who you looking for thank so much for your videos
Great job as always 🏴🏴 👏
Dear Hattie and Joanie were very close chums. Joanie was devastated when Hattie died. I think she lost the sister she never had - if that makes sense?! I adored them both. Wonderful actresses and entertainers. Bless them both and, wherever they are, I hope they're having a bloody good laugh!!
Thanks for doing this Paul. I love them carry on films, just good clean humour. One liners , and good laffs. Love them all. Just brilliant 👍 here is a flower for them all 🌷
I met Jon Pertwee twice, once in London, and again near Bargoed, South Wales, where they filmed Doctor Who:"The Green Death", he was great. I talked to him about his film career.
The walk around that beautiful place was worth watching. Thank you so much.
My pleasure 😊
I loved the carry on films I've watched everyone of them I have even got all of the films on DVD very talented actors such skill highly missed
Oh my, that was looking for a needle in a haystack 😮. Such legends in this one. Loved the carry on films and Worzel 🤩. Such a beautiful place. Do check out the City of London cemetery….it’s huge. Happy googling 😃
Go to Milltown cemetery in Belfast.Amazing.
Many thanks Paul for the upload and presentation as I appreciate it. I too visited that cemetery last summer, as I was told by staff that most of the celebrities ashes were given to the family, which is understandable. Another person who was cremated there, was actor and ladies man John Bindon, of Princess Margaret fame, who also passed away very young. Like yourself, I am a huge fan of the Carry On films as the next round of those will take place on Xmas day on ITV4 no doubt, and as you were in Putney, you could have driven across to Gap Road cemetery in Wimbledon, to visit the grave of actress Imogen Hassall, who appeared in one of the Carry On film where I believe Sid and Hattie are partners in a marriage bureau and they all have a food throwing fight at the end. Imogen appeared in that one, but once again due to life's pressures, she sadly took her own life back in November 1980. Apologies if you have already been to that cemetery before as I have only just checked out your channel and it is impressive indeed, so keep up the great work!
Thanks Paul for another great tour. Interesting as always.
Keep up the good work 👍😀
Thanks Paul
Interesting upload .
Great research and presentation
Hattie Jacques (1922-1980) went way to early, Joan Sims (1930-2001) legends
Joan had depression and Hattie was a rock to Joan
What a lovely video, such a beautiful and peaceful garden of remembrance. Thank you Paul for your dedication and empathy.
Brilliant thanks /John pertwee is a legend 👍
I've heard that Joan Sims' ashes were scattered close to the spot where Hattie Jacques' were scattered. Plus with the acception of that young boy, all the ones you talked about were in Carry On films.
Yep including Jon Pertwee 🙂
Joan Sims was Cremated and her Ashes were Scattered in the Memorial Gardens
The cemeteries in Britain are peaceful and so green
Bless you for trying to find those beloved actors and actresses, Paul. Lance P was brilliant in "Carry On Cruising" (a role he quickly jumped into as it was originally written for Charles Hawtrey!) Love Hattie and Joan too (I'm a big Carry On fan!) ❤🙏🏻🕊 Thank you again for trying to find them and show people they're not forgotten ❤⚘🙏🏻
Jon Pertwee was my Dr Who as a child. I grew up with the Carry On films and a lot were filmed in my home town of Windsor. So a lot of happy memories came back in this!
Golders Green crem is beautiful, the playwright Joe Orton and his partner/killer are scattered there. The funeral was described in the biography Prick Up Your Ears.
Ronnie Scott: Jazz Club Owner, Marc Bolan, Bud Flanagan, and many others are in The Jewish section.
I saw the graves of Jacqueline Du Pre (Cellist supreme) and Gossip Columnist Marjorie Proops etc...
Really enjoying the videos and your presentation style , Paul . This is a very beautiful place !
These fine people that have gave so much to us...it's just a shame there is no marker on there life..god bless them.
I loved Joan Sims, with that wonderful loud laugh, and when she used to talk 'posh'.
Jon Pertwee was my favourite doctor. His real name was Jon Perthuis de Laillevault apparently. He anglicised Perthuis to Pertwee,as nobody could pronounce Perthuis (Huguenot name)xx
Always well presented and informative 👌
My daughter registered with Antony Nolan to give bone marrow am so proud of her xx
What an amazing thing to do, I remember when they first highlighted this on a programme called that’s life ( I think ) I remember watching and thinking what a great way of getting the message out…
Great video and some really great names especially the carry on stars! Love those films the likes of which will never be made again. Thanks for sharing these videos and taking the time to do them Paul.
Brilliant paul what a lovely cemetery and thanks for sharing.
Really enjoyed this video. Thanks for showing us such a beautiful and peaceful cemetery & crematorium.
