oh I knows it just brings you back to a happy memory of a good day or a rainy day that turns out to be much better with good tv shows and ad's at the time.
That ALF thumbnail... LOL. I enjoyed hearing Pee-Wee Herman doing the voiceover teasers between breaks. Ah yes, the late 80s-90s, when everything was on a skateboard, even a drop of honey.
A few months ago we bought the first two discs of Disney Children's Favorites. My kids listen to them everyday. I use to have #2 on tape. I ALWAYS think of the commercial and I used to watch... and there it is. Well found.
I remember seeing those Sylvania bears and animals for sale in the late '80s versions of dollar stores. There were quite a few. I don't know if they're still around today...
Oh man, Rock Lords. For some reason, I got two of these from friends for my birthday that year. I never knew what to do with them. One - I was a Transformers kid, not Go-bots. Second - They turn into rocks! What fun is that? I felt like Tom Hanks in Big when he was complaining about the robot toy that turned into a building. I remember the Rock Lords even got a theatrical animated movie, so someone must have thought they'd be huge.
I remember seeing ads for Fruit Rollups & Fruit Wrinkles and thinking, hey, these sound great, and their ads were fairly effective in that regard. I didn't realize until several years later (when I finally got one?) that they were awful. But that Fruit Wrinkles ad? I remembered every word. A friend of mine used Sylvanian Families furniture for our GI Joe figures. It wasn't exact to scale, but it seemed close enough.
11:38 - Wait...There was actually a time when Popeye was on the box of Cocoa Puffs? Why was I not informed? Also 80sCommercialsVault, please tell me you have the continuation commercial.
That Fruit Wrinkles commercial was really over the top. The kids ate the fruit snack and then went "over the rainbow" into an altered state and had this psychedelic trip. A mess.
It's done that way to make kids interested in buying it. These types of psychedelic-looking commercials were commonplace in the 90s. Then again sugar *is* terrible for you. it's just a legal version of crack for kids that'll get em wired up and addicted. Nothing like a psychedelic.
Captain America-imagine if Marvel were to jumpstart the whole "cinematic universe" back then(Reb Brown as CA,Bill Bixby/Lou Ferrigno as Banner & Hulk,Nicholas Hammond as Spider Man all together in one movie..) Rock Lords-guess the toys didnt sell, otherwise they wouldve been showing up in the Gobots tv show more often :( GI Joe-i actually have that issue, too bad the scenario didnt play out like it did in the commercial lol
And now, time for some of my useless comments, walking down memory lane, and an attempt at humor. Mein sister and I got a newborn Pound Puppy each for our birthdays, and we had little houses for them, too. The costume budget for "Captain America" must've been pretty low. This is one of my favorite McDonald's commercials. For some reason, I like those McNugget puppets. Just how many Transformers-like toys were there in the 80's? I don't know if I should be happy to see G1 My Little Pony here, or filled with dread upon the idiot bronies who have to bash them every chance they get. Which came first, Sylvanian Families or Maple Town?
It is amazing how these commercials truly feel like they transport me. I feel 6 years old!
In the 80s it was the coolest thing ever getting toys in our cereal boxes! That would sometimes determine what cereal we picked out at the store.
thank you for posting these good memories
staticmunk7777 It's funny to be nostalgic about past marketing ads.

I'm sitting here watching this and at the same time looking at commercials on T.V. No comparison what so ever .
Brandon Aaron I simply flip channels as soon as commercials start nowadays, Probably cause we only got remotes in our house around 89, lol

Stated on the previous video, the "Pee Wee Herman" voice is just an impersonator.
80sCommercialVault that's pretty sneaky what they did there.
Back in those days the fast food commercials made the food look really good

Rock Lords! I loved this commercial back in the day. "NO FORCE CAN CONTAIN THE POWER AND THE FURRRRY OF ROCK LORDS!"
I remember seeing those Sylvania bears and animals for sale in the late '80s versions of dollar stores. There were quite a few. I don't know if they're still around today...

80s Cap was Steve Rogers' grandson, so in the modern Marvel movies,he could show up in a Cap movie!😁😁😁
If I'm not mistaken I think that's Andre Gower from Monster Squad in the Golden Grahams commercial.

I still have my Alf doll
LMAO me to and my E.T doll!
00:07 - this kid looks like he's going to do secret bad things to that pound puppy...
That Pound Puppy has seen things. Horrible, UnGodly things that no puppy should ever witness...
11:38 - Wait...There was actually a time when Popeye was on the box of Cocoa Puffs? Why was I not informed? Also 80sCommercialsVault, please tell me you have the continuation commercial.
I had the gray newborn puppy but don’t remember what I named it

MsFarzee they were just pressing all the buttons in post.

That ice cream cone cereal tasted terrible. Probably why it didn't last long.
