I must concur with the vast majority of the comments here thinking initially "This is absurd, there is no way"... Lo and behold, after trying it out my mouse is back to perfection.
Was honestly very skeptical about this because of how simple it really is. I've watched different videos about how to disassemble the mouse and replace the scrollwheel. I'm incredibly glad to stumble on this video because... IT WORKED. Thanks a ton!
I have been dealing with this for months. I actually gave up on scrolling and just started clicking and dragging all my pages up and down. Low and behold....IT WORKED RIGHT AWAY. You sir, are a saint.
after about a week of looking this guy was the first to have the solution to this problem no driver update no fake windows scroll settings just pure help
I was about to follow a tutorial on disassembling the mouse and bending some metal things inside it and turns out I just had to blow on the wheel thank you so much
i tried without the straw it didnt work so i bought a new mouse.... Today it happen that i found myself with a straw i tired again and it work :) i returned the new mouse
I guess it depend on some factors, I actually previously tried using an air compressor, and it did no good, probably using a straw like is shown in the video both direct the air in the precise spot and expose the sensor. So if you can't solve it just blowing in a "generic way" in the wheel compartment, try using the specific way shown in this video, for me it worked
Its dust around the scroll wheel sensor. I used a can of air (saves possibly getting soliver in there) but Yep, job done without disassembly. Works for just about all mice, but particularly useful for the more complicated that are usually [harder/take more time] to disassemble. Works for almost all mice. Sometimes its not dust but a hair, can be harder to remove unless at some point you can see part of the hair and remove with a pair of tweezers or something.
Hi there...just found this video after having this problem on my RAZER DEATHADDER ESSENTIAL...fixed it COMPLETELY...was struggling with this for a whole year...thank you man, cheers.
Who would tell me It was so easy to fix this. After a really long time without being able to use the scroll and thinking about getting a new mouse, the problem is solved. Thank you
I've been having this problem for a few days now with my Naga. Watched this and thought hey, I have a can of compressed air. So, I used that on both sides to clear it out and it's 100% now! Thank you! I don't know why I never thought of this.
Good tutorial man, this was happening to me, and honestly it was my fault for not often cleaning my mouse, Not only was it dusty in the scroll area, but it was also very dusty in other parts of the mouse, This pretty much motivated me to clean the whole mouse, it works way better now, thanks again!
6 years after you released this vid and its still helping people.... i've picking(trying to) hair out of the wheel for 10h+ when i came across this gem of a video.... thanks
I was so close to buying a new mouse because of this problem, thought i'd look at a DIY video if it was a problem for anyone else, didn't use a straw but just blew 3 times as hard i as i could, and it worked. Wtf brah. But thank you so much for the video! Was very useful.
My brand new Razer Viper V2 Pro started having a scroll wheel click after only 2 days of being used. I watched this video and followed the instructions and the clicking noise stopped mate. Thank you so much for this. Saved me a lot of time by not sending it out for a replacement!
You Absolute Madlad!!. I wrecked one of my previous mouses my trying to solve the wheel problem by disassembling it and putting it back together. You've saved me from repeating that mistake. Thank you!!
God, I love you! I just got a brand new Naga mouse today and it already had this issues. Blowing in it fixed it right up. I was going go send it back. Thanks so much!
Since RUclips removed dislikes, some people might be wary. I can absolutely vouch for this. I've used it for about 4 years now and it works every time. It genuinely does last about 2 years too... not even sure how he managed to get that one so accurately.
It worked for my Razer Mamba TE! I had to blow numerous times to get it to work perfectly. Prior to this I had the problem of scrolling the opposite of my intended direction randomly. I nearly pulled the trigger on getting a new mouse. Thanks a lot!
Dude... a lot of people already said it but I feel like I must say it myself.... IT REALLY WORKS! I love when a simple solution works on "high tech" equipament. Thank you sir Pduesp for saving my mouse!
It worked. 100% best video on youtube. honestly though, like, who tried this out for the first time. like who in their right mind would go "hey, let's blow into my mouse with a straw"... anyways, 10/10 worked perfectly.
WOW! I thought about buying some canned air, but figured I'd try this! Instantly worked on my Razer Mamba. Before I did it it, the mouse would randomly scroll up or down when I moved the mouse wheel on a web page. Thank you so much for this quick and simple fix!
Thanks, man. It worked for mine and my brothers. I thought it was odd that we were both getting the same issue and assumed it was something stuck in there, but I didn't think It'd be as simple as using a straw. Saved us money
Wow I can't believe it. I had this issue for so long and I didn't want to buy the tools or the stuff other people say you should buy to repair the mouse. I was litteraly going to buy a new one and figured I would check again to see if there was a solution to repair mine, AGAIN. AND IT WORKED !!!!! 2min and a straw and IT WORKED. I can't believe it.
Ha. Ridiculous. After over a year of taking it apart and reassembling it, I found this vid. I bypassed the straw part and just blew into that spot and it works. Thanks bud!
I have Razer Naga Pro and had the same issue after a couple months of use. Then, I watched your video, tried your method and surprisingly it WORKED! Kudos to you sir!
wauw, I've had a deffect naga for like 5 years in the drawer, figured I might buy the razer blade and couldn't help myself but to pick my old naga up to see if the problem was still there, sadly it was. But this fixed the problem instantly, even without the straw.. Heck yes man, thanks so freaking much
1000th comment saying this; but it actually works. I didn't even try it initially, thinking this was nonsense. After other methods failed, tried it and it worked immediately. Awesome, thanks!
I first referred to the video in 2018, it worked then. It also worked again in 2021, uncanny and right on the 2 year mark! Thanks for uploading this, it's so silly how quickly it resolved the issue.
So strange. It didn't work when I tried blowing with my can of compressed gas. But I used the straw thing a few times and it's working great again :D. Thank you.
I'm seriously shocked. I just blew a little bit and it started to work perfectly fine again.... I've been living with this scroller problem for months now. Can't believe it was this easy... xD Tysm for the video!
I was just about to pick the mouse apart to fix it through another video I saw. Stumbled upon this one and figured might as well try before I go ahead and open it up. It worked. Can't believe it but it actually worked. Thanks man.
Was starting to get really annoyed by my mouse and didn't want to spend money on a new gaming mouse as I had just bought a new gaming keyboard. All of a sudden when scrolling down, every few lines it would scroll one line up and visa versa for scrolling up. Tried this trick and it worked! Heck yeah man, thanks!
I was about to throw this mouse away because it was virtually unusable with how bad the scroll wheel was. To the point where games that I needed to scroll in I would just switch to my old mouse. This is amazing. Thanks!!!!
today is april fools day. but trust me, it works! i was palying yesterday and it was so annoying to change weapons with scroll, Now searched and found this video easy as that thanks!
I blew air inside with my mouth and it worked!! Thank you so much, i was sitting with a broken scroll wheel for 2 years, i had to manually scroll every page with the scroll bar. I was too afaraid and lazy to open the mouse inside. Thank you!!
Oh damn! My Naga Chroma just started doing the jumpy scrollwheel thing a few days ago and I was getting ready to take the thing apart. Very glad I saw this vid sitting in the search results. Working fine now! Thank you!
This man is a damn genius. My razer viper mini started having this issue where the middle mouse click stopped working, and would only work when clicking extremely hard on the wheel. Tried this method with the straw, and it didnt work the first time, but seemed to have made it so that it didnt need as much pressure to activate. Then i tried putting my mouth to the opening on the right side of the scroll wheel (where the middle mouse click mechanism lies) and blew hard into it. Still didnt work, but seemed to work with a little bit more pressure on the mouse wheel. I finally got a larger straw, and bent it a little and stuck it deep into the right side opening of the mouse wheel, and blew hard into it several times - and voila! The mouse wheel click is now working perfectly. Thank you, kind sir - you have saved me from having to undergo the tedious process of opening up my mouse. Much love.
Literally a lifesaver, came here because I usually have my scroll wheel disabled in razer synapse because it's so useless, but my razer synapse wasn't working, so I looked up how to fix my synapse and this video came up. I couldn't be happier that it did. :D
Holy crap it worked. My scroll wheel has been completely unusable for the past few months and I was considering getting a new one, but now it works flawlessly.

Heck yeah! If you have mouse wheel problems and this doesn't work, make sure you try it on the left hand side of the wheel too. Mine had two problems; a scroll wheel to the right didn't work (only moving it to the left did), and the scrolling was a little loose and would sometimes misread (register two moves instead of one, or register movement the wrong way). doing it on the right of the wheel I think has fixed all of the latter problems, but did nothing for mouse wheel right. However, using the same trick on the left of the wheel has fixed that problem too!
I recently came across this problem and thought this was so sketchy but I always have a backup mouse and tried it. I just did it now. Holy mother it actually works. Guy should be on Hack My Life TV show. Damn sir thank you. Beers and firm handshakes to whomever this helped!
Worked amazing even without the straw, just push with your finger the wheel button to the side and blow alot of air a few times to each side. Thanks man !
The German instructions in the background are making this really surreal xD
its making me laugh so hard
at first I was like "no way this is gonna work"
Then it worked
Thank you so much, you're a legend
I must concur with the vast majority of the comments here thinking initially "This is absurd, there is no way"... Lo and behold, after trying it out my mouse is back to perfection.
I thought the same thing but it totally worked!
for me I was like "there's no way this is gonna work"
and then it didn't work
for me it worked
not going to lie.... exactly the same. thank yo usir
