- The Elder Scrolls: Call to Arms from Modiphius Entertainment is one of our favourite table top games at the moment. The rich depth of story, the narrative game play and the fantastic miniatures just lend themselves to a great game. So we thought it would be a fantastic opportunity to paint a miniature and share this with you guys. We cover some great techniques using Contrast Paints and by following this guide, we're pretty confident you can complete a unit in one sitting. We hope you enjoy it.

Very cool, didn't even know there where an Elder Scrolls miniature line.
Duncan, I find your videos very similar to watching Bob Ross and the joy of painting. The way you show people how the technique works, it's not just how to paint a particular figure. It's how to paint any miniature. Please don't stop, if only you had been around 30 years ago when I started to paint.

Sorry I have a question, Do this models come preassembled? or you put them together? If they come un assembled would it be easier to paint the arms and sword seperate then glue together later?

It actually doesn't. Atmora is the home of the Nord's. The Snow Elves (Falmer) call Skyrim their own. Its ironic really the Stormcloak uprising because Talos of Atmora (Tiber Septim) formed the Empire, the very Empire the Stormcloaks are rebelling against in the name of Talos. Its a false flag and all orchestrated by the Thalmor to weaken the Empire before the next big dust up. Yep I'm a nerd.

I love how it turned out! I'm going to paint these soon, so I'm really happy to see them painted like this! I have a question about base coating. I usually do greyscale zenithal highlight with an airbrush, and use contrast, but because of this, they are often turn out desaturated. Do you think zenithal could work with Zandri dust as base instead of greys? And if so, what colours would you recommend to do? Thank you!
Are the things he paints all comission pieces or does he actually play all these games?

Hi Reverie. We paint what we love the most as well as what are Academy Members want to see. Nothing is commissioned. As for Battle Reports....not yet but maybe in the near future 😊
@@DuncanRhodesDRPA Thank you for your reply. If you keep everything you paint (and paint whole units instead of just one miniature for a video) your collecting must be enormous.

Ah man! Of course a great tutorial gets posted for these minis just a couple days after I finish painting mine. That's what I get for not procrastinating longer. Still grateful for this awesome content though!
and remember to look through your bits box for a spare book or codex and affix it to the model. All Stormcloaks need a copy of the lusty Argonian maid

If I may ask you a personal favor Mr. Rhodes it would be this. In the future could you do a video on how one would paint the Plague Marines in their Horus Heresy colors. Just got my hands on a set but so far I don't seem to like what others have recommended me, they all seem off in some way or another. If you do it be greatly appreciated, if not then no harm and I still learn something new from you by watching your videos. Just means I will have to experiment.

What is the difference in detail between the plastic and resin kits for these as I really want to paint up a guard for each hold and just want to know if it’s worth the extra coin.

@@DuncanRhodesDRPA Genuine question boss, have you considered doing any of the more interesting Tzeetch (aos) models on the chanel? I got into 40K with the thousand sons and have seen some of the more interesting AoS models and I just have the urge to just go out and paint them. Just a thought since they have some sweet models that look like a joy to paint. Thank you for your time.

Yes Duncan but not all of us use Citadel paint and I myself prefer Vallejo paints, not that I'd be painting my Marines those colours. Cheers for sharing as usual !!
Hi Duncan! I think it would be interesting to see you paint characters from Gloomhaven Jaws of the Lion (Demolitionist would be great ;) ) and hear your thoughts about painting less detailed characters from board games that are not really meant to be painted.
I don't know if this is interesting to anybody else. I'm a complete beginner when it comes to painting and these will be my first miniatures and the thought of painting them scares me a bit. There are other videos of this. But I've really enjoyed your WH tutorials and would love to see your take on it.
Loving the tutorials as ever! I was kind of surprised though, have Army Painter changed their forumla on the Deep Blue? I bought a classic bottle of it like.. maybe 5-6 years ago or some such and mine is a MUCH darker colour, closer to like Night Lords Blue than this Kantor looking Blue.
it is hard to break bad habits over 30 years of painting minis. But watching your videos are slowly helping to to break these habits . Thank you !!
