POV: The Knockemstiff, 1990- something. A grungy club where the cigarette smoke rises and mixes with the smell of sweat in the air. He stares at the stage, desperately wishing he could be closer to the stage to drown out the voices of his friends, all of whom were babbling incoherently about whether or not they would bang Courtney Love. He wonders if they dragged him along just to be the designated driver.
Besides, he hadn’t been able to think about much of anything else since she walked on stage.
