@@2-WayStreet I modded it straight away. I always do pickups/electronics on all my cheapos. That said, this one didn't need much. Fret work was good so I just skimmed the tops with a leveling beam (3 frets had the slightest rocking) and re-polished. I replaced the pickups with Wilkinson M Series Alnico 5 P90s, and the potentiometers with some better full size ones. The switch was fine, the tuners were fine. Cheap but hold tune well, so good'nuff. I replaced the bridge with a cheap roller bridge, not that the stock one was bad, I just like rollers.
Those are not blemishes, it's just wood grain. That is the intended style of the open grain finish. I prefer it that way.
