  • With Survivor airing for over 20 years across multiple countries there are going to be questionable winners, middle tier winners, but, in a certain category, the highest prestige in my opinion are the most dominant winners. This is the gold standard; people that pushed their foot down on the pedal and quite frankly never let go of the steering wheel.

    "Survivor" is a popular reality television show that has been captivating audiences around the world for many years. The show's concept revolves around a group of contestants, often around 16 to 20 individuals, who are marooned in a remote and challenging location, such as an island, jungle, or desert. These contestants are usually divided into two or more tribes at the beginning of the game.
    The primary goal of the show is for contestants to outwit, outplay, and outlast their fellow competitors in order to win a cash prize and the title of "Sole Survivor." The show is known for its compelling characters, dramatic twists, and strategic gameplay. Contestants often face physical hardships, interpersonal conflicts, and moral dilemmas as they navigate the challenges of the game. "Survivor" has a loyal fan base and has spawned numerous seasons, each set in a different location with its own unique challenges. It has become a cultural phenomenon and a cornerstone of the reality TV genre. The host is known as Jeff Probst and is also the lead director.

    Spoilers for Australian Survivor:
    I agree that Tommy (S39) is one of the most dominant winners, and his game only gets better once you hear interviews from the cast and how he had at least five people thinking he was their number one ally. I also have a ton of respect for Earl's game. But David Genat's game in Australian Survivor All-Stars should totally be in the top five. The average US survivor winner goes to 10.4 tribals, but he went to 16 tribals, made insane moves, and got only two votes before FTC, one of which was nullified.

    Kim’s case so unique isn that almost every capable player is taken out by her as early as possible.
    -Kat vs Nina she takes Kat cause she’s younger and more naive making it easier to use her to further her own game
    -Jonas tries to regroup the men and uses her swap tribe+original tribe to gun him down immediately
    -Sweet talks Troy into taking out Mike who could have mobilized a resistance
    By the time Troyzan even realizes he’s on the bottom there’s literally nothing he can do about it outside of immunity win form Final 9 onwards.
    Bonus points on her for taking Chelsea and Sabrina to the end over Alicia who might have turned on her at final 4 assuming she doesn’t win it.
    Chelsea wasn’t respected and Sabrina had some support but nowhere near enough to win

    It depends how you define dominance.
    Boston Rob- in terms of controlling votes he would be top 6 in dominance. He loses a jury vote to all but 2 people (the 2 he was at the end with) who made the merge though, which is the opposite of dominance. He was also targetted by the minority alliance, and goes home at Final 5 and Final 4 without his immunity idol and immunity most likely, which again is the opposite of dominance.
    Tommy Sheehan- He was in serious danger of going home in the swap tribe vote. Granted he did well to survive this at all, but this is the opposite of dominance. He also loses a jury vote to 3 of the final 6 in the game- Janet, Elaine, and Lauren. He also wasn't exactly controlling the votes a lot of the way. So the only sense he was dominant was not being a target despite being a big threat nearly the whole game, minus the swap tribe vote.

    I totally disagree with Tommy and excluding Tony. I didn't see Survivor South Africa, so I am sure my international rankings wouldn't be accurate, but of just US Survivor my rankings of most dominant games, not best games neccessarily are:
    1. Kim One World
    2. Tony Winners at World
    3. Tom Palau
    4. Earl Fiji
    5. Tina Outbacks
    Best games would probably have Tony at #1, not Kim, and dropping Tom and Tina out of the top 5 probably, replacing them with Jeremy and possibly Natalie A or Tony from Cagayan, but these are my most dominant game rankings.

    I don’t know anything about South Africa but I couldn’t help noticing that all four of the winners on this list that I can speak to won seasons that can be described as tedious slogs at best. I hope it’s not the case that dominant winners make for bad viewing. (Though I did like most of the seasons won by honorable mentions.)

    I strongly disagree with a lot of that list. Kim at #1 is probably right. Tony should be in the top 3 easily though. Not only is his Winners at Wars game the best game in history, but easily one of the most dominant too. Tommy is not top 5 in dominance at all. It was a great game but not one of the most dominant. And no way in hell is Boston Rob 2nd most dominant game ever, I probably wouldn't even have him top 5 either, and definitely not Tommy in the top 5 in terms of dominance.

  • @daniellegershman9165
    @daniellegershman9165 8 месяцев назад

    I would probably flip Rob and Kim in my rankings, but by all means, they’re the two most dominant ever, almost undeniably. The factor that Kim missed that Rob took advantage of was controlling the other players. Yes, Kim was like besties with her alliance and was very much the ringleader, but she wasn’t like controlling the minds of her alliance. Her alliance members still talked to the other contestants, they even strategized with those at the bottom at some points. They may not have been great players, but they were still playing the game. They were still autonomous. Rob completely controlled his entire alliance. They couldn’t go anywhere on their own, they couldn’t talk to the opposing alliance, and they had to tell Rob everything they heard. He completely controlled them. They weren’t even playing the game. They were playing HIS game. He took away his own alliance’s autonomy, and they were happy about it. To me, that season was entertaining because it was so impressive. I hated Rob before that season, but I gained a new respect for him. Sure, it may have been unethical, but it was masterful. The other players were truly his pawns. To me, he played a perfect game. Not technically, but he played as well as anyone can possibly play and win.

    • @travisstrong5389
      @travisstrong5389 8 месяцев назад +7

      Kim is far ahead of Rob in not only overall game but "dominance" for me. First off she controlled the votes even more, she had the other tribe give up immunity the women, LOL! She had control over the minority tribes votes and got them to reveal Troyzan's idol. Rob had no control over the other tribe or minority, to the point if Ometepe loses 1 of the final 3 straight immunities they won, he is fucked. Secondly Kim beats everyone in a jury vote, which should be part of dominance for me, while Rob loses a jury vote to everyone but Phillip and Natalie. So Kim far ahead of Rob in dominance.

    • @kharihammon9784
      @kharihammon9784 7 месяцев назад

      Except Kim was in a position where she literally could’ve arranged the entire boot order in any way she can if she wanted to because she was on everyone’s side whereas Rob’s options were limited with the minority alliance that actively wanted him out.

  • @stevendeangelis621
    @stevendeangelis621 8 месяцев назад

    The downside of being a dominant winner, like the ones on this list, is that there is very little opposition. Are Kim and Rob the most dominant winners ever? Sure. But color be stupid, I don’t think there is one player on either season that could do anything remotely strategic. Making it less impressive. O yea, also helps if production rigs a season in your favor.

    • @kharihammon9784
      @kharihammon9784 7 месяцев назад

      Erm, Parvati was dominant but Cirie’s strategy also drove things & it was Amanda that was reasonable in that favorites F3 steamrolling the rest of the end-game. Even Natalie took part in some of the moves being made by the women.
      Basically, every BwB member was a important key component for her success while other dominant players made decisions more independently with their alliance members serving as extra votes to put their plans together while you can’t say the same for Parvati whereas everyone on that season were culpable in executing things.
      Also, if you are including win equity, Parvati early jury management wasn’t that great & it’s a close vote against anyone more often than not.

    Redemption Island and One World aren't great seasons of survivor. But I think there is enjoyment to be found in the dominance of Rob and Kim. Rob won 4 individual immunities against strong competition and used all the non-strategic players to bulldoze the ones with any willingness to play against him, then took the 2 people no one would vote for to ensure he wins as a returnee on a season with only 2 returnees. Kim ran her season and had almost every single player like and trust her then get barely any flack for being in near total control, wiping out the men one by one and making all the women think they were going to the end with her.

    What’s up with narrative that Trish saved Tony every step of the way. Trish would have been voted out first in Cagayan if they had lost the first challenge. Tony would have saved her with an idol if he needed too. He brought himself and Trish from the bottom to the top by bringing Woo and Sarah to their side. Jefra started the fight between Kass and Sarah so Trish can’t get all the credit for the flip. Tony knew he was playing with why would Jefra flip and vote for him in a 4-4 tie when he would be safe if they drew rocks. Also he knew he could knew make that move against LJ and get away with it without being turned against because Spencer and Tasha were still in the game and they were terrified of them! It was partly luck they never turned on him but it’s not just pure luck or tony being “erratic.” It was a strategic decision as well as an calculated risk. He wouldn’t have made that move if he knew it had a big chance of backfiring.
