38:22 "They really did a great job of making--AAAAHHHH FU"😂 Both extremes of this game in one soundbite.
Damn, I was just about to make this sane comment 😂
You took out the detector so the Alien has heard the beep from it.
Up until the Medical Bay it was all a tutorial. Now it's on. Good luck :D
I know I keep saying it, but this game is fkin awesome lol
Also: DON'T RUN. ANYWHERE. EVER. Unless something is chasing you that is. Get used to not making a sound. Same with the motion tracker. Use sparingly. It makes a noise. Quiet and staying out of sight is absolute key.
Everyone forgets the Newt Jorden rule of survival against Aliens: don't make an effing sound, ever.
The alien used a normal way of travel at 7:45 . It used the vent opening in the ceiling in front of the door ;) Your darkness settings might be a little too dark if you can't spot that.
A little heads-up: The medical ward is the first _challenge_ of the game. It's going to be tough :) Expect to get killed _lots_ of times, so sometimes it's best to take a more cautious approach. Also, running makes noise. Noises attract aliens. That knowledge can both be good and bad, since you can use noise to distract him.
*Blueprints*
Last time I saw your item wheel you only had a few items on there. Medkit, revolver and flare. There are numerous blueprints (large papers, usually on desks or hung at a wall) that provide you more blueprints for items to craft. There was one on the table in the room where Amanda got her first look at the alien as it dropped down from the vent. So even though I know it's not great having to look around for blueprints as the alien or androids hunt you, do try to look around. Extra items mean more options to distract or fight your enemies.
*Hiding in closet*
A few tips. Anyone standing in the room can still hear your motion detector when you hide in the closet. So you won't be as concealed as you think you are if you use the motion detector.
Also, 'leaning forward' in the closet means they can actually see you through the gaps. So once again, you're not as concealed as you think you are.
Can’t agree more. There are several items you can craft or obtain to use as a distraction. Some can even be used to damage or drive off enemies. If you are running and gunning you are going to miss them and you are going to hit a wall as the difficulty increases.
The game has a decent AI and as you progress it unlocks different and more complex behaviors for enemies, which drastically makes progress harder. You’ll really wish you had those items then.
Also the worst thing about this game is that even if you're very careful the xenomorph will sense you. Every sound you make while crouching or by using the motion detector (especially when hiding in lockers) is picked up by the xenomorph. Running around or normal walks will surely kill you fast ))
I think most of my gameplay I played it as a Hiding Simulator more than anything
that's because there are two dynamic AI systems working together, the Director AI which always knows your precise location and sends the Alien in the area near you, while the Alien has it's own separate AI (more like a tree of behavior actions to react to your actions in the game) which doesn't know your exact location but is continually scouting the zone the Director has sent it to. The more you stay in one location the narrower Alien AI scouting zone becomes meaning that eventually it will get to you. The Director AI decides to either pressure you more with Alien presence or send it off to give you some breather to advance based on your actions. Those crawling noises your in the vents isn't just some random ambient sound, it's actually the Alien moving around the stage while it's out of the map. It's just that Alien body becomes invisible once he's out of player's vision (called "backstage" mode) so it's tail won't clip through the ceiling and take you out of the immersion from the game, but it's always there nearby
That working Joe running in place at 12:02 is a reference to Ash that did the same thing in Alien.
Great gameplay! I do have to point out that you keep bringing out the tracker while hiding in a locker. I feel I should remind you that the tracker is kind of loud i.e. the enemies can hear it if they're close enough.
That beeping is not just for the player. You take a risk when you pull the tracker out because it's kinda loud.
There’s grates in the floor for avoiding the robots.
That’s the scariest game I’ve ever played and it just continues to get worse and worse.
You are the first person I have watched playing a game on RUclips and I am enjoying it so much. I like the Alien movies so that is a bonus. Can't wait for the next one.
My lord. This is horrifying. I am losing years of my life by just watching you play this game.
oh, sweetie, wait till you play this in VR while doing the "complete the game without dying" achievement on the hardest difficulty
VR makes me puke so no thanks @@HaohmaruHL
It's such a relief when we find a "save/emergency" device. Hahahaha
And man, you need to collect more stuff. You need batteries for your lantern. Hehehe
This is one of the games where guns won't do you any good. In 90% of the cases it'll make things worse. Alien Isolation teaches you in the hardest, most unforgiving manner that this title is NOT a First Person Shooter. You won't have the ammo you need to fight your way through and as soon as a shot is fired - either by you or by someone else - the Xeno is right behind you. Making yourself invisible, creating distractions to clear the path you need to walk is the only way to go through this alive. Take it from me, you need a device called "Noisemaker" this little thing is a lifesaver, always keep at least one of them ready. Also, you might not be able to keep the Alien from showing up but you can tell him where to go. Let him do the killing for you. If there's a group of heavily armed survivors in your way, throw a Noisemaker in their direction and stay out of sight until the Alien cleared the situation. You yourself must remain unseen at all times. That's the only reachable level of security left on this deep-space junkyard.
Crouch almost always, run almost never. Use the map to find your objective. Search every nook and cranny for usable stuff.
Thank you, Grizz! 🎮
Man taking this journey with you is amazing! Thank you for sharing!
We need more! Bring on that 3rd playthrough video! 🥳
37:24 hahahahaha finally happened. Hahahaha
I’m so happy your playing threw this game is a blast and just adds to the tale 👏🏽
This game can get very stressfull
TURBO TEAM REFERENCE!
I Think You Should Leave Sevastopol Station!
This game is traumatizing as hell.
SAVE AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY!
One of my favorite games of all time, pretty much kept me on my toes throughout. Definitely not easy imo
Go under the floor in the main comms room!
By the way, start collecting the ship's maps hahaha
excellent!
What’s scarier, the Alien or the robots?
Alien
The Alien is scarier. The robots are harder to avoid. I got killed way more often by the robots.
Alien.
Good news! It gets a lot worse from here!
You’re a hell of a lot braver than I am lol I cannot do horror games. I tried the original Resident Evil on ps1. On the very first tutorial zombie I screamed, shut my eyes, and fired aimlessly. Everyone that was with me laughed so hard a couple of them pissed their pants. Apparently I was spinning in circles while firing the gun 😅 My second attempt at a horror game was on the ps3 for a game demo. When it booted up all I had was the world’s worst flashlight and a pipe or something for a weapon. Not thirty seconds in I hear this breathing so I turned around and a fricking zombie grabbed me. I screamed so loud I woke the neighbors and I threw my controller through the window. I can watch horror movies and pass out cold, but put me into an immersive game and I am the biggest ninny alive 😂😂
Good luck hiding and running away the game's A.I driven Alien. LOL Best away is to crouch and use motion tractor to monitor the alien's movement. Running or shooting will only attract it to your location.
I can't wait to see your reaction to the new #RebelMoon trailer.
🔥🔥🔥
When's Part 3 coming out? We love watching you crap your pants playing this game!
Hey, very fun to watch. Are you ever gonna continue to play?
When you first went down those stairs to the lower level to get away from the hostile people the lady said: "I'm not going down there no way!" What was your reaction? I would have liked to have seen how you reacted but you cut that part out. I'm noticing that your editing seems a little heavy handed and you are cutting out more than is necessary. Although, I do appreciate that you are trying to not show yourself wandering around too much. But seeing how the tension builds in the player over time in this unique, one of a kind horror game is half the fun.
Yea….even now the A.I for the alien is still better than some recent horror games! So just imagine how mind blowing it was back when it came out ffs! It legitimately learns and even slightly adapts it’s behavior. I mean even the androids have (tho not drastic) some slight changes as the more of them you hit /kill makes them more aggressive, especially in the beginning…them turning from peaceful to hostile can be somewhat hastened or slowed depending on when/how you react. Basically…if you hit one or flee actually makes a slight difference. 😅😉👍
Example being that if you don’t back as far as possible in the locker/closet and the alien is close by…your screwed, just like what happened to you towards the end of this video when my guy yanked you right out of that locker/closet
Love from Germany!
Grizzled Wizard unfortunately 1nce/when the out of control androids come after ya/start coming after ya they're not going 2 stop until either you're dead or they're dead so it's either them or you!
"I come in peace!"
Which part of Axel saying "It's called surviving" did you not understand?
This is Heavy.
Do you not know you have a flash light on your head?
Nostromo was totally destroyed in the first movie so I don't think The Company really had the original flight recorder.
By the way beware of the "dead" androids lying on the ground. Jumpscare is their middle names.
Spoilers, but no, she hears the recording later. Or do you mean Seegson specifically?
@@JJMDude well, Ellen Ripley was found drifting around space in the year 2179, meaning 42 years after the events of Alien Isolation, so nobody would've had the flight recorder of that space shuttle until 2179.
While the very original flight recorder on board the Nostromo remained on board Nostromo in the first Alien movie.
@XI7.exidium Okay... And the recording of Ripley's message to Amanda much much later in the game, talking about her brush with death with an alien organism...?
You can argue about whether that makes sense in-Universe, but that's a plot point in this game.
@@JJMDude yea, that's why I refered to the first two Alien(s) movies and didn't understand the gap in the story. I was thinking at the universe and not the individual game.
These details about the flight recorder work well only if you don't know the first two movies
You really shouldn't trim it down because half the fun is watching you go through all of the mistakes and exploration. Still enjoyable but it's justy thoughts...
