I’m a simple man. When Don releases a new tea, I buy it with no questions asked.
Man I want to do the same. Quite (un?)fortunately, he finds so many amazing teas back to back
Have you guys thought about doing a advent calender before? Like 24 teas, one for each day counting down to Christmas, enough for one or maybe two sessions of each and have something special for Christmas day. I'd 100% buy something like that even if it was at a fairly high price
Upvote. ⬆️
Yes please!!!
Ooooo that would actually be epic to do
I would love this! ❤️
This would be so cool!
Hi Don, just wanted to say these videos over the past long while have really helped in my life not just for the Tea, depression at times has been quite tough and sitting down brewing Gong Fu style watching the videos make me feel happy. Having received my Young Gushu 2021 a couple of weeks ago I can honestly say that True Tea is a revelation and that Mei leaf has the best Teas I’ve ever tasted.
I live vicariously through Don's tea session 🤣
I wanted to say how lucky you are, Don, to be able to taste those wonderful teas as part of your daily work.
But then I thought about the whole process of tea discovery, selection, purchase, import, sale and then export - it all takes a lot of effort.
So I realized how happy your customers and viewers are to have such a hard working and talented person as you, enabling them to experience and enjoy wonderful tea.
Thank you!
Found this channel yesterday on my birthday 10/23, I've been wanting to learn about tea for a while now because I just knew that something that has been around for thousands of years and is celebrated by hundreds of cultures, had to be more than just Lipton tea bags. I am now subscribed and I love your videos, thank you so much for all the information. I just bought my first quality teas that I learned about in your "teas for newbies" video. I purchased an osmanthus oolong and a tie guan yin. I also purchase the proper tea ware and printed out your brewing chart to make sure I brew it correctly using the Gong fu style. I am beyond excited and thanks again from your friend across the pond.
The JJM is incredible. A truly ‘morish’ tea. So far, for the year, it’s been #1 Young Gushu 2021, #2 Alishan Cream, and #3 Sweet Spice JJM
@Mei Leaf
Hi Don, to answe your question first: Yes, I have heard and tried these two tea pearls before^^
And many thanks for sourcing this beautiful Gold Duanni Lantern Pot.
I've already ordered it, the 2 new black and the Bird Table Runner^^
I have bought a couple of tea packages today, one of them looking similar to Huang Jin Bai Lu. It was a delight to enjoy as part of a relaxing day off. And I can only imagine how special the teas in this video must be. I love black teas, and the ones from China are truly a discovery for a person who thought he knew everything about tea from a life-long experience (which, for most of us, is based solely on Ceylon tea, of course).
For anybody who can allow himself this treat, or for anybody who wants to present an important person in his life with a valuable gift - I recommend visiting Mei Leaf and getting a package or more of Chinese black tea.
Placed my order for both! Excited to try these!!
where is the new Teatable??????
If you recall from his Resin Table video, its in his living room.
It is not the authentic Jinjunmei. The cultivar is Meizhan and you are ripped off it is more than 600USD/500g.
where’s the new resin table???
My guess is this room is his "office" the resin tea table is in his "living room."
Hello Mr. Don. I'm a 53 yr old grandma from the US who recently found tea.
Could you recommend a great green or black tea that's easy to buy for a reasonable price here in the US. (I'm on a limited income) I'm very overwhelmed with all the options.
Thank you very much sir.
Hi Don, ive got a tea question for you.
ive recently acquired a gaiwan made of clay thats glazed on the inside. I though that it might be a good compromise for brewing all teas, as i thought it can probably brew darker teas well since it holds the temperature, and light teas as well since you can leave the lid off. Is this the right thinking? (not yet looking to invest into a more expensive yixing pot). Im waiting for my most recent meileaf order right now and really looking forward :D
I have three Gleaming Brow jin jun mei packages left- how long will they store?
I’ve got some left too. I’d guess 2 years tops, after that you’ll probably notice quality really dropping off
@@chrisladouceur4093 Yes Chris- I was figuring up to about three,or so, years.
They’ll never go bad, just stale. Maybe 3 years would be fine. Typically for black teas I go by 2 years though
Hey Don,
Here's an interesting question. I've tried to find some info on it but got very wide responses and nothing clear.
So we all know that you can age pu erh somewhat indefinitely. But can you age green tea. Now I did find some articles saying that you can but non of them really go in depth on it. The only thing that they every stat is you have to start with good material just like you would with pu erh or really any other tea you would like to age.
So my question to you is: have you ever experienced an aged Geen and what are your thoughts on the matter.
Also I'm thinking of maybe running a little test myself. Any recommendations on which tea you would pick for such a test?
I imagine it would be similar to an aged white puer which I’ve had but now that you say it, I haven’t actually seen it.
Umm hello where can i buy quality longjing and bilouchun online?
So 5kg at a very high price is sold out in few days?
Hi Don, I have a question. You said that you did not expecte to have a Jin Jun Mei in your catalogue this year, it is because of the pandemic that slowed everything down in this year's tea production or Jin Jun Mei tipically arrive in Europe in October?
How I found it, Don is very picky with he's teas. And I sort of get it. You can get Jin jun mais 'fairly' cheap but it's hard and expensive to find the really awesome ones. There are only a few that I tested over the years that really come close to what a real Jin jun mai should taste like. One of them was the one from Don.
The problem is that it's getting hyped on the market which lifts the standard price of this kind of tea. And believe me I've tasted a fare deal of so called Jin jun mais there is a staggering amount of Jin jun mais out there that are just very tinny leaf back tea.
I suppose it's sort of simular to what has been happening to the ripe pu erh market. Demand goes up and the market get frustrated with uninspired below average teas.
I think Don let’s teas like this come to him since they’re just so time consuming to sift through the rubble.
w vid dawg
Watching these videos, I feel like e heathen for adding a teaspoon of honey to my tea. Yeah, I am not doing it the same way but still!
