- Midori and Pyoro appear to have leaked the first Zelda Nintendo Switch 2 project, and the codenames as we well. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild looks to be getting a 4k remaster and may finally know the official codename for Nintendo Switch 2, Switch OZ. What does this mean? Lets talk about it.

Andre saying pubic hair was not on the bingo card this year
Really we Zelda fans wanted an Ocarina of Time Remake but Nintendo wants to Remaster a Zelda Game that isn't that old? WTH Nintendo!
It’s MUCH easier/faster to tweak & fix possible bugs when remastering BOTW to 4K(?) 60fps. It’ll sell like hotcakes and that profit is what the investors are looking for.
Don’t worry though! More profit means more fuel to produce new Nintendo games, so if a BotW Remaster is still too soon for you, just let it pass. I’m sure a complete remake of OoT is somewhere in the pipeline with how loud the consumer demands are for it… but that’ll take years of major development to create the perfect game we’re dreaming of. I hope they take their time to make it right 👍
No we don’t zoomer. We want a fully realized remake of Zelda 2. The one that actually has “The Legend” of Zelda.
Everybody be like "wheres zelda" but no ones asking "hows zelda" Just sad Man 😢
Don’t forget, breath of wild is the best selling Zelda game ever made. It got so many people into Zelda for the first time and it’s the first game that really changed the formula moving forward. So a slight remaster to bring it up to current gen quality is a great move. Maybe they’ll drop a slight fee (fat chance) for people who already own the game to upgrade it to the newest version. Either way in June when we get the direct they’re for sure gonna port either wind waker or twilight princess or both to switch. I’m ngl I’d like to play botw at 4k or 60fps with little to no load times.
And if they do remake OoT take ur time to make it perfect. It’s my favorite LoZ game so it would need to be perfect.
@dannybz7421 I don't care if it's the best selling Zelda Game it's been used for too long it's time we get something that isn't BOTW related!
6:34 the oz idea having to do with the wizard or oz and magic is a huge stretch, but it’s funny I like it
It obviously means a supplementary story or a “gaiden”, an extended or fleshed out pre story to botw. Hence the “0”. You know, like Resident Evil 0 taking place the day before the main story.
Its an O, not a 0, and its just a code name
They could give us the Minish as an extra campaign because the Minish were originally supposed to be in breath of the wild
BotW 4K is not surprising. They could release it in 2027 for the 10th anniversary. They did this with Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, and Skyward Sword. I think that make more sense than releasing it in the first year. They would probably want a new Zelda game that year or a full remake instead of a remaster. Also, 2027 seems like a reasonable amount of time for the Zelda movie to come out, so they could pair it with that.
2025. Anniversaries are a meme
@@felipee5239yeah no public company is devising it’s strategy based on anniversaries. Every now and then you acknowledge it but that’s it.
Prob either oot or twilight princess remake
Would be cool if Switch 2's codename was 'Oz', but I guess what's even more exciting is what they're officially gonna name the Switch 2? Can't wait for when that day comes!
I definitely think "OZ" is more "Wizard of OZ" than it is "Ounce". I'm pretty sure Japan uses the metric system, so while "ounce" sounds good to American ears, it wouldn't necessarily make sense for Nintendo to use that naming.
I also like it as "Wizard of OZ" because one of the most famous moments of that movie is when it flipped from black and white to color. Think of it from a Nintendo Switch - consoles and buttons typically stay black and white (until we look at special editions and lites, but go with it). Now we see upcoming releases showing colored buttons in trailers which has people thinking those games are hinting at the next console having colored buttons.
Either way - very hyped! Great content Andres!
I'm surprised BOTW is getting a remaster
Something I maybe could have spoken on a bit more is how this was a tech demo for Switch 2 reportedly. Its possible its meant to only be a tech demo and nothing more. Although if Midori is talking about it, it seems like it will actually be something published at some point.
@AndresRestart a good number of tech demos have evolved into full releases. I'm not sure if it's the case here, but it's possible
@@AndresRestart I hope so
@ravenebony2267 Spider-Man was used to demonstrate the benefits of the SSD in PS5 and that had a remaster at launch for example
I really hate the thought of Nintendo doing $70 Switch ports on next gen but its Nintendo they have done it before many times
Most not likely because of backwards compatibility
@therealjaystone2344 wii had backwards compatability and still ported GameCube games to wii so...
Not to be that guy but is there actual proof of this?
Just the word of a leaker with a 100% track record
What would constitute proof in your eyes?
@@ravenebony2267that bird is not 100%
@@JCSA79V I mean confirmation from Nintendo on a few things would be nice. I understand that we know little about the Switch 2 and they will show more but besides that and more information on Metroid Prime 4 would also be nice.
@@minarc3682 I'm not even talking about Pyoro
What I want
2025: OOT remake
2026: new 2D Zelda
2027: MM remake
2028: Link Between Worlds/phantom hourglass/spirit tracks collection
2029: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom deluxe with about 50 hours of new content for each
2030: next open world Zelda launch
Edit:
And hopefully this year TP and Windwaker remasters or ports
If we don’t get additional content for breath and tears we need the ocarina of time remake if we do then we can just get the remake like a year or two later
Muji? Pubic Hair? Bayonetta 4 confirmed.
prolly just shifted letters... NX -> OY then realized OY was dumb as hell (and possibly problematic)... just did OZ (and PZ would also be dumb) and were like 'ah yes. like the wizard. that is also good.' it won't have much influence on the final name anyway.
About remasters, Nintendo usually release remasters +-10 ten years after the release of the original game. So I guess, we will maybe have a BOTW remaster sometimes in 2027..
Swi1tch 2 resolution and frame rate update patches for Switch games should be free. Additional content on top of those patches could be paid in some instances. Maybe the latter bundles in the former in some cases?
The Wizard of Oz is about Dorothy and her journey across the land of Oz with her friends to meet the Wizard and send her home. While he’s the destination, the main focus is more on the characters. Now if we’re talking about Oz the Great and Powerful with James Franko that’s a different story.
Whatever it is, I think the future of Zelda is going to be great!
The code name for breath of the wild on wii u was U-KING-U and on the switch U-KING-S. you get from that, that the last letter represents the console.
Meaning U-KING-O would stand for OZ or Ounce. Aka switch 2
what about if BotW and TotK got combined into one game *but* with a NEW Zelda-focused transition game plopped in-between? not something with the size/scope of the full bookend games but maybe something 30-50% the size? like 30 shrines and 2 big dungeon/temple type things. all playing as Zelda. to fill in that gap between the main games. Zelda is present at the end of BotW and the beginning of TotK... so an easy transition for sure! and several storylines could be covered in that period.
that plus no loading and the graphical updates + trickle-down ToTK improvements to BotW would be pretty cool.
also this could also fit with that 'this is a hint' bit from the other day regarding playable Zelda.
Amazing from the leaks. Im so ready for a reveal. It will be hard to pass up. I really hope a remake of Ocarina ground up happens early after launch. Maybe Majoras mask or Link to the past is fully remade the same. The steam is picking up for the new switch hype train 🚂. Dont miss it!
I agree with you 100% here. Botw is one of the best Zelda games, but pretty much any other Zelda game would've been more exciting as the Zelda opener for Switch 2 (Except HyWarr and totk). It's too early and most people have become over exposed to both botw and totk right now. Especially a proper Ocarina of Time remake would've been perfect! It seems like they're trying to repeat some Mario Kart 8 deluxe stunt if this becomes reality.
Probably just gonna be the same game with dlc bundled like Japan sells them
I could see Nintendo finally diving into more VR experiences for the switch 2. I was honestly surprised that the switch 1 didn’t get more support, given its gyroscope/directional controls, and it’s perfect size (which could be even bigger like an oculus) to fit inside a mount. Would be awesome to finally get vr. Sony got it 5 years ago!! Cmon Nintendo
Tears of the kingdom needs a remaster with additional content, that game is EMPTY, sky islands and depths need completel overalls with new biomes and enemies, and we need more side missions with legendary weapons to collect, some new armor too
It’s a patch for the switch 2. Sort of a remaster, making it 4k… pretty sure it’ll have a little more content. Might have to pay a little bit for it. But you’ll be able to play off of the same cartridge.. my thoughts
I believe it’s something that will show you what the switch 2 can do with the original switch games. A lot of games will be patched
I could care less just so long as. The games are fun to play and the console isn't too expensive.

So we've hit a soft boundary with a BotW remaster? Have the Zelda fans finally found their limits with getting remaster treatments?
I know Breath of the Wild is 7 years old at this point but I wouldn't buy BOTW again for 70$ with extra content plus DLC just seems like Nintendo would want to milk Zelda BOTW when people want TwilIght Princess and Wind Waker Ports.
Maybe bury it but keep it sealed for infesting it decades later for value?
If they wanna generate hype for this, they shouldn’t charge for it if you already own botw
I'm taking anything switch 2 console related rumors and leaks like a grain of salt Andres.
I’d hate it if botw got released again
anyone who thinks that ANY game on switch 2 will run 4k 60 fps is on some serious copium
Why would you need a remastered version of BotW on Switch 2 when the system is backwards capability. Nintendo just needs to make a 1080p or 4k if possible update for BotW.
Botw isnt nintendos last of us. You dont need remasters on next gen console release....
hi AndresRestart
Honestly I too don’t want a port of BOTW on Switch 2. No ports, just make the Switch 2 backwards compatible and focus on new games. Just saying.
After all, Switch 2 seems like another, much beefier Switch variant. Let us play Switch stuff on this switch variant, and focus on new games to encourage me to buy a switch 2
An enhanced version of BOTW on the Switch 2? That sounds very promising. But I would be more interested to see if Nintendo has plans for the spinoff. Whether it is a sequel to Age of Calamity or a companion narrative TOTK story with a playable Zelda send back through time to the Imprisobing War era.
I know that i sound like a broken record but people are not willing to listen to me, so just listen to DF instead.
They made a brake down using a gimped nvidia 2050. Which is the closet real world example you can get to a t234. What this means is that people expecting 4k/60 raytracing in complex games in super switch are daydreaming.
Expectation: switch 2 running at 4k/60fps on dock and 1080p/60fps undocked
Reality: switch 2 running at 1440p/60fps on dock
@@therealjaystone2344 Not even that after a quick glance of the analysis. At the least the video serves to take people out of the delirium of 4k AI upscalling being a magical trick that has no performance cost.
Even if the device has the computing logic to do RT, why would anyone prioritize that over framerate & image quality which hace a bigger impact on gameplay?Remember a ton of pc people even with powerfull cards chose to disable raytracing in alot of cases. Hearing people drooling about rt in a monile soc is astonishing.
Actually they said they suspect the cuda cores count won’t cut it for ANY content in 4k. Not even for super simple or highly optimized games
Oh yes, the graphic card which is memory bandiwidth and vram starved, i see why DF nowadays is more of a burden than anything
@@therealjaystone2344A lot of developers make their games targeting 30 fps to focus on graphical fidelity , it is that way on PlayStation 5. There’s no way
hi AnfresRestart
This comment section is like r/nx all over again. You all think exactly alike.
We dont want to pay another 70 dollars for a game we all already own
@@sharkgam3z592wdym
IF this is true, which is highly possible, then i have to say im actually getting tired of BotW and TotK. I played BotW on Wii U. Last year played it on Switch.
I get the game is popular and a top seller, but i would much rather see a remake of a classic 2D zelda. Or perhaps a new game. Anyways just my opinion 🙏
Who even wants a botw « remaster » tho?
Sounds very lameeeee
It is
U-King-O sounds like an awful mobile game :)
First comment?? cool
Indeed, congratulations.
