That is so thoughtful of you to think of the family. It is so hard for me to understand these albums being discarded...I wish I had more pictures of my family. Just found some information on my Dad's family this week, so happy.

I have a two made in a similar time period one is leather and the other is velvet I think,
both have photos of people i am probably related to,
possibly from England since I found some photos somewhere else that were from, around the 1800s but it makes sense that they were English since i am myself Australian and my descendants were English,
eventually I want to do that ancestry thing to see where i came from or my ancestors at least

What a treasure, and yes it deserves to be given a new life and cherished! As I was looking at that back cover, all I could think about was the Victorians obsession with that vibrant green color for anything and everything (food, wall paper, fabrics, clothing, furniture, baby items) which of course was produced with arsenic!

So beautiful!! Such a sweeeeeet gesture to try and locate the book's photo's ancestry, and to preserve it into a journal to last. Very impressed. God bless you!

Gorgeous album. You should do whatever you would like with the book. I love that you are going to look up the people. When I see old pictures I always wonder about the story behind the face. The pictures sure seem to have all the information you would need. That is great.

I can’t wait to see what you do with your book. I have two of them and can’t figure out what to do with them. My Grandmother’s sister got all of the family photos. When she died, her husband threw them all away. It’s nice that you are trying to find the family.

Wow! This is so cool! I really love those vintage photos. Yes, it is hard to believe no one in their family wanted to keep it. I’ve picked up several photo albums or portraits at yard sales. Someday I intend to make scans of them, and use them in some fashion. Can't bear to use the originals. Have fun with your journal-to-be!

AMAZING!! So interesting. I especially love the art on the frames. It looks gold from the video. You have yourself quite an heirloom and I am sure you will do it justice with your creative mind. Look forward to seeing the results. (and yes, when you said you were going to turn it into a journal i gasped, but your explanation put my mind at ease). Thank you for sharing.

I found a wonderful cabinet card album in an antique store. The pages were not as intact as yours are. I have been wanting to do something with it but not sure how to go about using it for a journal. I would love to see what you do with this one --- could you perhaps do some tutorials for us?

Beautiful photo album, Dawn! I love your initiative of finding the descendants of those Victorian Era people... Although I would like to see a journal out of it, made by you... I'm torn... Lucky me, It is you who has to decide, not me! 😋❤️🤗

I've got 2 of those, not in that good of shape on the outside. I bought them at yard sales, but have seen last names that are in my family tree. I'm at a loss of what to do with them, but are quite beautiful. There's lots of names I don't recognize mostly.

I had one of these that I got from my Grandma with her family in it. My Dad wanted it - so I have it to him knowing I would end up with it. He misplaced it in his travels. I was heart broken- because I love family history and I don’t know much about my grandmothers family

That's so sad. I'm so sorry you don't have those photographs anymore. I am very lucky in that I come from a long line of "keepers". My grandmother and great-grandmother kept everything. So, we've been blessed to have a lot of old family photos still around.

I am compelled to connect old photos to the rightful owners. So I add them to findagrave.com, familysearch.org., ancestry and once in a while, I even receive a thank you. I have added over 800 to findagrave so far,. It is difficult to add to ancestry, so I have a Misc Tree to which I add pics to "unrelated family members, just so these old photos will be preserved. Loved this video.

I have since made contact with someone on ancestry website that has worked on part of this family's ancestry. She is currently helping me with the search to find descendants that are closer in direct lineage than she. So the photos can go to their rightful home.

I have done much of my family's ancestry. I have found the findagrave website to be indispensable.

Did you ever turn it into a journal? If so do you have a video on it?
