    thx for sharing. I am looking at sending to PSA from COMC. I know I pay more, but want to see if I have any luck.

    I recently learned my lesson sending low value cards to consignment. I sent in about 120 cards and half went for 99 cents or unsold. It ended up costing me money just like you said.

      Yeah it’s fun trying to turn $1-2 cards into $100+ but that’s the downside if they aren’t gradable. I might need to set up at a show one of these days, people love dollar boxes

    Sorry about your gradeable rate in this order :( But you still got some cool clean cards ready to hopefully get into gem slabs 🤞 I hope dad life is going well!

      All good, I always have fun w/ COMC orders no matter the gradable rate. Finding those clean 90s cards is a fun challenge. Dad life is awesome! Little one just turned 1 recently ☺️

    Thanks for sharing. How do you sell all the cards that do not make the cut? Just send them back to COMC?

    • @pdxwax
      @pdxwax  11 месяцев назад +2

      Thanks for watching. I usually consign. I prefer the quicker turnaround so I can utilize that capital as soon as possible, but I know some people like sending them back to COMC. Dig your content btw!

      @pdxwax Thanks and thanks. Very interesting idea sending them to a consigner. I do not feel like I have a great system for my PSA rejects, so I appreciate the idea.

      @@pdxwax hi, great video, what do u mean consing? like a local card shop?

    • @pdxwax
      @pdxwax  9 месяцев назад

      @@MattyBoy23 Thanks! Consignment is basically letting someone else sell your card for a fee (usually a percentage of the final sale price). They photograph, list & ship the card for you. EBay sellers like Probstein & DCSports87 are popular consigners.

    Very informative as always! I have recently been having difficulty finding cards on eBay without surface issues as they are usually the easiest to hide or angle out. What do you look for when evaluating surface when buying raw on eBay. Do you only buy cards that have clear surface photos and do they have to be taken out of sleeves or top loaders to be considered

    • @pdxwax
      @pdxwax  11 месяцев назад +2

      Much appreciated. Great question. I think generally the photos on eBay are better than COMC, so yes, I try to find listings with clear surface photos though it’s not always the case & I still take chances on certain cards that look good otherwise. Many sellers are willing to provide more photos if you ask politely.

    I think when you factor in PSA membership, shipping/Insurance to and from PSA, COMC is a good deal. I'm paying $22 for cards under $500 on COMC without having to be a specific sport or year, PSA has price brackets that add up fast. COMC also has pregrade, if you buy a card they will determine if you should gem up for $5. I'm selling $3-$5 cards that are paying for my grading fees. The only cards I get shipped back are 9's and 10's.

    • @pdxwax
      @pdxwax  11 месяцев назад

      I’ve always done my own grading & probably send in over 1000 cards a year so a membership makes sense for me. I’m also a bit of a control freak & prefer to assess cards myself & most of what I send is at the $19 bulk level or whatever monthly special is offered ($15.99 MLB currently). But doing it all yourself is obviously a time commitment so your breakdown definitely sounds like a viable option. Maybe I’ll try it out one of these days. Glad you’re having success w/ it!

      @@pdxwax I use both, COMC and PSA. I prefer COMC for the convenience, but I question how they handle cards I send in, and for that reason I will only grade EX-NM, and cards COMC has pre-graded and approved. I'm sending in a bunch of autos to PSA since they don't offer that on COMC with PSA, only CGC, but its not cheap. Maybe you could do a video on how you prep your cards, what you look at when determining what cards to send to PSA?

    Comc needs better photos. You never really know what you’re gonna get 😂…What do you end up doing with the ones you don’t send in?

    • @pdxwax
      @pdxwax  11 месяцев назад

      100% Agree. The scans are pretty bad. I usually consign the ungradable stuff unless it doesn’t make financial sense to do so.

    I like this strategy, I've been buying baseball on ebay 10-50 mostly but I might end up sending the others to a cosigner instead of just relisting. In your exp whats the best cosigner that you've dealt with? Thanks for the video!

      I use Hoody’s Collectibles because they’re local to me & I have an established relationship with them. If you want the most eyes on your stuff DCSports87 & Probstein are probably the most popular, though I haven’t used either so I can’t personally vouch for them. Little Victories, whose channel I recommend in general, did a consignment comparison video recently. Definitely recommend checking that out
