HANDSOME lion wrangler Shandor Larenty is so busy with his lions and hyenas - who like to give him kisses - has no time for romantic relationships with girls. While his friends were out partying and enjoying their teens, the dedicated 24-year-old was working night shifts at The Lion Park near Johannesburg, South Africa, mucking out hyenas, watching over sick lions, or doing special night feeds with injured giraffes. While Shandor admits he’s doing his “dream job”, the work is demanding it means he has no time for a love life. Thankfully he does get affection from somewhere, but it’s usually from his furry friends at the park like Themba the hyena.

In a way, he's not wrong. Animals will typically let you know directly and right away whenever something is wrong. People will play mind games or hide how they really feel until the last second.
He is so right. Which is why IMO he has the best job in the world! I would rather risk life and limb working with dangerous wild animals than with most humans.
The most fulfilling job I ever had was working with animals at a rescue. And I did it for free.

It’s something we get asked a lot. Our animals are pretty used to the smells of other members of our fur family. They will always smell you down but it doesn’t really bother them as they’re still pretty happy to give some cuddles. 😊

I think Saffers have a deep connection with these wonderful big cats, we in the west don't get to experience the wonder of nature of these amazing creatures. God bless you all for your ability to bond with these creatures. Lions are amazing creatures with great memory for the people they grew up around. I wish that some day I'll go visit the land of my ancestors in south Africa.
