- Jackie Gleason brought an ingenious assortment of mannerisms, quirks, and temperment to a variety of invented characters, among them the one he is most identified with,..."Ralph Kramdem" from the 1950's TV Classic, "The Honeymooners." His unique style, facial expressions, body language, and memorable one-liners, earned him the deserved title, "THE GREAT ONE!"

I turned 75 today, and remember the whole family gathered around the little black & white TV, laughing like crazy to the antics of Gleason. We need shows like that again!
You're right but the way this world is today plus the ignorant young people who don't like this kind of stuff, have destroyed everything that was good and refuse to accept it as fact and what's more they don't want to hear about it or know about it, and as far as I'm concerned, it's Wrong and Unforgivable Period!!!!!
I still wish those little black and white tvs were still around
Herbert John 'Jackie' Gleason: 1916-1987. How sweet it was, is, and ALWAYS WILL BE.
They didn’t call him “The Great One” for nothing!R.I.P. Jackie.👏👏👏👏👏
Good job on a great man, thank you.
I am in my 40s and love Jackie Gleason! He was way before my time but was a comedic genius! And for being a big guy he was great at the physical comedy. I can watch the Honeymooners to this day and still laugh at them. I wont ever forget The Great One!
You’re going to the moon!
There will NEVER be another Gleason - no one will even come close! Thanks for all the laughs then and now, John Herbert Gleason!
I absolutely agree with every word you said!
BABY......HES THE GREATEST.‼❕‼❕❗❗💙💙⭐🌠🌙🌖🌝🌛🌜🌛🌜🌕🌛🌌🌜🌝🌖⭐🌠🌕🌃🌙🌖
MOre talent in their little fingers than most 'comics' today in their entire bodies. Of course, the quality of the writing was infinitely better then as well.
R.I.P. Jackie and Art. And Audrey and Joyce as well!!
you were a riot mr. jackie gleason a real riot, you really live up to your nickname "the great one" miss you and thanks for all the memories you have shared with millions of people to watch your movies and t.v. show "the honemooners" you are dearly missed so until we meet in the sky above r.i.p.!!!
There is no other comedian that has ever made me laugh the way jackie Gleason has. He will always be my idol.
He just makes you smile when he’s on stage. And laugh and laugh.
Great tribute to one of the time greats!! ...hilarious:)!
Love it! You made me laugh today!
One of the greatest talents in history he could do it all!!!!!
In loving memory of 'everybody" we lost that made this show so great 🙏
Jackie Gleason was the greatest entertainer of all-time (with all due respect to Carol Burnett and Lucille Ball). The Honeymooners is not only a classic comedy show but one of the top 5 greatest TV shows of all-time. Our world misses your incomparable comedic genius Jackie!
7Lukibi99Tore7 Agree 100%
Amen!
Absolutely 100 💯 percent!
One of these days... POW! Right in the kisser!
The Honeymooners will always be "the standard" all other sitcoms are measured against!
Okay, I am supremely happy with this!! I was so hoping it would have my favorite line!! "Oh... it can core a apple..." LOL
One of my favorite late night shows! Jackie Gleason and Art Carney was the funniest comedy duo I enjoyed watching. Classics such as "The Honeymooners", aren't made anymore! They don't call the 1950's the golden age of television for nothing!
+Robert Gilmore The funniest comedy duo ever to me is the fiddle and the bow, whose had such an major influence of jackie and mr. carney.
Robert Gilmore So true!! I still listen to Honeymooners reruns most every night!
@@marilynbarker8255 SAME HERE!! YOUVE GOT GREAT TASTE!🌜🌝🌙 ANYONE READING THIS. ..IF YOU GET channel " ME -📺 TV" I HOPE YOU'RE ALL WATCHING THE HONEYMOONERS 🌙 ON SUNDAY NIGHTS AT 1030 PM ..ITS ON REGULAR 📺 Television🌝🌜🌖 so if you're looking to feel exxxxtra COZY. On upcoming Sun
R.I.P. jackie "the great one" gleason, when i watch the reruns feel like you're still here with us your adoring fans..
Jackie was the best! Thanks for this wonderful tribute! :))
A thin, in shape Gleason wouldn't have worked. His size was part of his comic persona; it gave him a sympathetic, larger-than-life, everyman quality that made him appealing to the masses. One of the greats.
I disagree. Have you seen Gleason in the first season he hosted Calvacade of Stars? He was about 80 to 100 pounds lighter then, and he was a comparative whirling dervish. I think Gleason at 180 pounds, 200 pounds, 230 pounds, 260 pounds, or 290 pounds was hilarious.
Randy, but a thinner Gleason wouldn't have inspired the writers writing so many funny fat jokes! Gleason once bemoaned to his writers, "too many fat jokes!" But they worked, especially when as a comeback by Alice after Ralph insults her. One of the best was when Ralph said regarding a small amount of money: "Peanuts! What'll I do with peanuts?" Alice's hilarious reply: "Eat 'em! Like any other elephant!" ROTFL!
Gleason....greatest entertainer ever!! And Art Carney was a perfect straight man for him. An all around great cast!
great tribute to a great actor. very well done. thank you.
Happy birthday to Jackie Gleason today. I look ''to the moon'' & blow kisses to you 💐🎈📺📻
One of my favorites and an all time great entertainer
I hope some in this generation can appreciate Jackie Gleason. I am 39. Years young and I can't get enough of the honeymooners. It sure looks like rain!
No baby. YOUUUUU were the greatest. Of all time. And thank the Lord that television, although still in it's infancy, was there to capture it all. Imagine if Jackie has been born 15 years earlier... Only Vaudeville would have been honored to see him live, and then long forgotten. But because of TV, here we all are in 2020 enjoying his greatness on RUclips. . And his genius will now live on forever... Because his comedy was absolutely timeless. He was asked, What is the definition of comedy? He said, if you laugh, it's comedy. Perfect answer.
People like him should never have to die , and there is a long list of great ones.
Yes, but we should all be thankful for video and, yes, RUclips for preserving the legacy and introducing it to those who never saw it before
Yes. Rodney. Rickles. Foster Brooks. Lucy...
Comedy at its best - with the best comics!
This type of sitcom could only have occurred during that era when women were only housewives. Today that would be unheard of. My recollection as a child was the moon coming up on on the TV and me thinking ”Oh no .. not that crummy show.” and immediately changing the channel to watch Gentle Ben or Flipper. But as I reached adulthood I realized the comic genius of Mr. Gleason and the cast. Today I watch the re runs any chance I can get. Boy How sweet they were. Jackie, Art, Audrey & Joyce.
I agree with all the comments, I love them all on the Jackie Gleason show. ❤️ And Away Weee Go!
I'm in LOVE with Jackie Gleason!
I hear you 100%! He is A DOLL😍❕🌜🌌🌛🌜🌃🌕🌠⭐🌖🌝🌃🌙
The Honeymooners were the greatest
I'm so sad watching this and realizing that I've missed work this great all this time. I was laughing the whole time I was watching this.
He's the greatest!!!
Here's to Jackie Gleason on his centennial. Turning your words back to you,
Jackie, "you're the greatest".
simply the best.we miss you J.G.
That man was the greatest
I'm 46 years old--Since I've been a young child, it's become a tradition to watch the Honeymooners marathon on New Year's Day. It's clean humor-- brilliant actors-- an era I wish I was born in. Bung Crosby, Danny Kay, Fred Astaire, James Cagney, Humphrey Bogart, Steward, Ohm Wayne-- I grew up sitting by the television while my father directed me to "Flip the channel"-- my wife thinks I'm antiquated for carrying on the tradition into my children's life-- especially when I ask them to flip the channel ;0)
The best to everyone the Christmas season, and a Happy and healthy new year.
About 91 i moved to LA and started to wach the honymooners just for the heck of it it aired kind of late i think it was 11:30 at night but i was hooked for life ,very few comadians can make me laugh but Mr Gleeson and the rest of the honymooners can it is good humor and of story Thank you HONYMOONERS
Great job! Love the "Get Out" montage :)
JACKIEGLEASON; YOU"RE THE GREATEST; AND GOD BLESS YOU:❤❤😊😊
The final clip was just completely adorable!!!!
HAPPY 100 BIRTHDAY JACKIE GLEASON! You were one of a kind an;d there will never be another like you! You are missed!!!
one the greatest ever. so underrated. perfect timing. he could do drama and comedy effortlessly
“Underrated”!!!! Absolutely. Whenever you can’t think of one goddam thing to say on RUclips call somebody underrated.
How can a guy widely recognized & called “The Great One” be underrated?
What a moronic RUclips blight the term “underrated” has become.
I love The Honeymooners! Jackie was such an amazing talent!
If I have a son, I'm going to name him Gleason! :)
I wanna find the clip where he’s arguing with Alice about going to a ballgame vs a wedding and Alice tricks him into saying he’d go to the wedding
Jackie Gleason a great actor and comedian. I'm proud to share my birthday with him...
Jackie Gleason was simply BORN to entertain! What a wonderful actor and comedian! Jackie has been gone for 23 years now, and it is still sad to think that he is gone. I bet somewhere in the great beyong ol' Jackie is making people laugh right now! How SWEEEET IT IS!!!!
RIP Great One!
Those eyes make me laugh too this day . I'm 44
Before Martin Payne, Before George Jefferson, and Before all the others on the TV, Jackie Gleason had the best catch phrases, jokes, and his signature Slam the door in your face for sitcoms. I watched him everyday as a kid. RIP
The Great One, the Great Work, 333
Can't beat these classics; NO MODERN COMEDY show an touch these classics.
33 years ago we lost him
It was an era of greatness. Today's so-called entertainment is, as Gleason would say, a mere bag of shells.
Not only the great one, but "The Greatest One"
I really enjoyed this terrific tribute to the Great One! RIP Jackie Gleason ♥
I cried the day I learned that Jackie Gleason had passed away... it is hard to believe that it happened more than 30 years ago. This world has seemed just a tad gloomier without "The Great One" making us all smile ever since. From Ralph Cramden to Buford T Justice, thanks for the laughs Jackie. We miss the hell out of you. If it is true that laughter adds years to your life, then I'm going to live a heck of a long time thanks to you!
"And awwaayyy we go"!!!!
Well said and well put ! What a momentous talent he was ! So wonderfully creative ! I loved watching his Saturday night program when I was a kid in the 60s ! Thanks for your wonderful comment !
I am smiling from ear to ear!
My dad wad a huge fan of Jackie Gleason. My mum liked Burt Reynolds. Smokey and the Bandit was a natural choice. RIP to all of them.
Gleason killed me!
What a day in T.V. History all the shows of the 50's 60's were awesome and iam very glad i got to see batman...period.....TY!
Pow, right in the kisser!
POW RIGHT IN THE KISSER BANG ZOOM YOUR GOIN TO THE MOON
OUT !! OUUUUUUTTT❕❕👀‼❕👅
The great great great one
"GET OUT!!!!".....he was always tossin people...lol.
2:48-My personal favorite.
No, Jackie Gleason, YOU'RE the greatest. You made comedy. I feel so sorry for the ones who watch comedy shows today. Like "Modern Family"...These people have no idea how great TV shows were. TV shows like "I Love Lucy", "Full House", "Married With Children", and this show, "The Honeymooners". This was television. This was comedy before comedy was COOL.
Don't forget All in the Family.
Yeah. That show too, and Family Matters, Sanford & Son..etc.
WTF I know way more funny shows than that like family guy,that 70s show,the game,everybody hates chris,drake and josh,waynes brothers,zach n cody,the dave chapel show,George lopez,my wife n kids,king of queen's,Simpsons,
joshua alcazar This is the first time ive ever seen Jackie Gleason on film and I thought he was hilarious!
Although I think bud abbout and Lou Costello are the funniest
I don't think there was a better physical comedian or anybody with such awesome facial expressions... I am a huge Archie bunker Carroll O'Connor fan but I think that Jackie is at the top of the heap for his Ralph kramden character... #GOAT
Jackie is arguably the best of the best of all time: comedy, drama, singing, dancing. There is no one else who compares.
This was one of the first shows i was allowed to stay up and watch as a kid along with Ed Sullivan when our Grand Mother came by because even by 1962 the TV was a high priced item for a person that was retired.
This was excellently put together . This show is timeless and genuinley funny without ever going blue. I would have liked to see "She's a blabber-mouth, a blabbermouth!" - "Boomph" & "Whoa it certainly looks like rain!" in this clip,
Ever see his grave? It's pure Jackie, all the way. :)
Gilligan's Island. That Girl. The Andy Griffith Show. Green Acres. My Three Sons (One of my very, very favorite!!). My Favorite Martian, Laugh-In. The Flying Nun.
Oh my! The good ol' days!!! Gone but not forgotten! :-)
He was so light on his feet for such a big guy! 😯
humma humma humma ed norton
3:05 Oh it can core a apple. Love it.
You put together a swell tribute. I'm still smiling.
A great tribute to a great one
Baby> Your Da GREATEST!!!
The show s are the best of times
Rip Mr. Gleason❤We all Love You ❤❤
He lived his life the way he wanted. R.I.P. Nothing else to say.
Jackie Gleason!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey there, Ralphie boy, what do ya say there, pal o' mine?" "You know, Norton, I been watchin' you. And I know you been watchin' me. You watch me, I know. :) QC
very well put together
Hysterical. Legendary comedic actor. That face is priceless.
Talent. King sized. It was a privilege to have watched him working magic with no rehearsal. Class. At the end of the show he would come back on stage in a $500.00 robe and have a cup of tea.
Multi faceted, multi talented ARTIST Extraordinare!
Jackie Gleason was born on this date in 1916. {Feb. 26th}
Sadly, Mr. Gleason passed away on June 24th, 1987... May he R.I.P
I see where Fred flintstone got his inspiration
Jackie wanted to sue, but his manager said “Do you really want to be the one who gets The Flintstones off of TV?....you will be vilified forever."
Fred Flintstone was a sad, anemic, meager & moronic reincarnation of Jackie Gleason. Never again mention these two in the same sentence. Don’t do it.
@@us-Bahn Yabba Dabba don’t?

@@marilynbarker8255 😘
Gleason, unlike so many self-centered "stars" today, always gave a huge credit to the success of The Honeymooners to his outstanding second banana, Art Carney, with his Ed Norton character. He said the show's success and comedy was 90% from Art's hilarious characterization of the zany sewer worker. Great Ones don't need to hog the spotlight nor be spoiled brats. Gleason was the tops, and one of the greatest comedic talents in television history! His famous character was ranked by TV Guide as second in history only to Lucy Ricardo (Lucille Ball) in her "I Love Lucy" series.
Thanks for posting this tribute. I agree with all of the comments. A true classic!
Fantastic tribute!!!
