    I have a 722.6 gearbox in a W204 C200 Merc. I drained about 4.5 l from the tran. first, and then 4.75 l from the torque converter. The torque converter has its own drain plug. Of course I replaced the filter too.

      Great, not all torque converters have the drain plug.

    Is it safe to drain transmission fluid and replace it with new fluid without dropping the pan? My question is , is this method any help at all. Thanks

      @MaxReviewss  Год назад

      Hi Abbas, if this service is being done as a part of service intervals; let's say after 60,000 km and you would like to drive the car for another 60,000 km without changing the filter and cleaning the pan, I would say it is not recommended. But definitely fluid change is better than "not doing any servicing" at all...

      Thanks mate, it's a pleasure to work on car in a right atmosphere and having the right tool, though not always the case.

    What did you torque the torx bolts to?

  • @kl-7461
    @kl-7461 2 года назад +1

    (722.6) How many litres total 7.5 or 8 ?
    Torque converter capacity ?
    Drain pan capacity ?
    Have shifting issues after fluid change.
    Filled 4 litres after draining ( low or overfilled)?
    C200, w204, 2009 model
    What is the normal Mercedes transmission operating temperature?

      @MaxReviewss  2 года назад +2

      4 liters did the job on mine, but you need to check the level afterwards for perfect function and gear change...

    Hi mate, has the gearbox been all good using the penrite oil ? Cheers

    • @MaxReviewss
      @MaxReviewss  2 года назад +1

      It is shifting perfectly now and no issue at all.

      @@MaxReviewss thanks for that. I did a partial change of about 5 litres using nulon multi vehicle about 6 months ago and its been great. I extracted the oil instead of dropping the pan but it made the world of difference.

      @@Thatplanecrazyguy Hi Mike, if you can next time change the filter and clean inside the oil pan too...it is really beneficial...

      @@MaxReviewss hi mate, yes that's my next job, I just wanted to give a partial change first and dilute as much as the old stuff as possible then I'm going to do the pan and filter. I'll either use the nulon stuff again or the penrite. Cheers

    The level did not appear in the reading, you have to push the dipstick until the end or add more fluid.

    • @MaxReviewss
      @MaxReviewss  Год назад

      Yes, push it all the way, easy to check the level.
