As someone who has recently 100% this game on the PS4, I can offer some more helpful tips as well for both Cops and Racers. Racers: 1. On Hot Pursuit lead the cops to more tight roads and shortcuts and deploy the spike strips. Once your spike strips reaches level 2 or 3 the width of the spike strip(s) will easily cover the entire width of these tight roads and leads to almost guaranteed hit and damages any other racers and cops that follow your path. 2. Take down Cops whenever you can. For every successful cop takedown you get in Hot Pursuit or Gauntlet modes, you get a free refill of your Nitrous bar which can help get you back to top speed in a pinch or use to shave more time during several timed challenges. 3. Time your takedowns accordingly (This can also apply for Cops as well). Whenever you get a takedown animation it gives you a brief window of invincibility frame (I-frame) and you can use that I-frame to completely by-pass certain roadblocks and even spike strips set up by the opponents. This is very situational but saves you lot of time and even health for your car. 4. Jammers, are helpful items as they can also scout and see any roadblocks further ahead on the course and will stop all weapons the police can use and even spike strips deployed by the helicopter in the air. Cops: 1. Deploy roadblocks where the road is completely narrow and straight or it's directly after a blind turn. These part of the maps are where roadblocks are the most effective. 2. Hitting a car when they hit a roadblock will often guaranteed an arrest of that car due to you hitting them in the backside of their car at high rate of speed. 3. Helicopters will pursue racers even if you're not in range of them. This is very helpful as they can deploy spike strips to stop them or give you enough time to catch up to racers and not risking racers escaping your line of sight. 4. Rapid Response missions will make you get better taking ideal driving lines and corners more effectively. Rapid Response is a great way to learn the layout of Seacrest County and will punish you with time penalties for hitting any traffic, walls, guardrails. So, learning throttle control and keeping a clean line will help you go a long way to get Distinction in these events and better driving skills as a player. Hope these skills help any player here that are starting or returning back to this game.
@@mikebutler7121 Oh it's very easy, each of those items/equipment are pressed using the controller's directional buttons. For example, on the PS4, if you want to deploy Spike Strips, press the Down Directional button, EMP is the Left, Roadblock on the Right, and Helicopter is Up.
My personal tips for everyone: 1: Use balanced cars, not all cars are good for time attack. 2: The fastest car is the Apollo S, which is unlocked by reaching Most Wanted Rank on Racer campaign or Ultimate enforcer on Cop campaign. 3: The most used and best cars for EVERY tier are: Sports/Traffic Patrol: 911 turbo and rx8 High performance/highway patrol: e46 and gt500 Supercars/rapid response: 918 spyder and sl65 black series Exotic/speed control: Diablo SV, Sesto elemento and 911 gt2 rs Hyper/special response: Mclaren F1, CCX and Apollo S 4: Practice. I used to play the original game and that's what I used to think of myself to be honest. But then I realized, it was only because I never played multiplayer on the original. Now I realized I still need to improve, because whenever I play Most Wanted (As in the gamemode), I always brake or handbrake and ended up crashing myself because a car behind me was going on full speed. If I'm racer, I would usually get busted or damaged hard. I still need to improve on that.
What I find interesting is that you have to be skilled at drifting for a arcade game. It's fun to drift yes, but the fact that it's required so heavily knowing how aggressive the A.I. can be definitely takes away from the fun a bit. I have more fun trying to shut down racers as a cop.
When I play and I pause it and unpause it i have no control of the car for about 1/2 seconds making crashing easy asf is there any way to disable that?
I'm stuck on the Rapid Response mission Do Look After It with the Aston Martin One-77. I can't keep control of the car, it's hard to determine whether to take shortcuts or not, and you never know when you'll encounter unsuspecting traffic cars. Can someone give me some tips?
