Question about private onsen-do you have to book it or is it “first come, first serve bases”?

Compared to other onsen, this one you don’t need to book it but it’s also on a “first come first serve basis”!
They have a TV inside your room that shows which private onsen is occupied or not.
Otherwise, when you arrive there, you can see there is a light outside the private onsen door. If it’s on, it means there’s someone inside. If it’s off, it means there’s no one inside and you can just go in.🥰
