Having a knowledgeable dog train the new puppy always worked well for me. Not everyone has that option but it is the easiest
Yes! Lexy learned quite a bit from my girl Misty, now she is the teacher for Riley! It sure makes my job easier👍
Thanks Jared✌️
.Only you know how to train your dog friends. You love them and respect them and you teach them without stressing them and that is very good. Blessings to you my friend.
My dogs are like my children! And they bring so much joy and life into a home, I can't imagine not having s dog!
Thank you Coyote✌️
Lexy just wants to fetch after every shot. It's cool that Lexy sees Riley getting involved and wants to follow suit. Great showing Marc, great advice. I have the same rifle, 32 Winchester.
And hello Dave. Good sport.
Kenny
Riley relies a lot on Lexy, she shows him the way all the time!
Thanks Kenny✌️
Some great dog gun training Marc. Riley didn’t seem to be the least bit worried about it, he’s gonna be a good hunting dog. Thanks Brother!
I certainly hope so!
Thanks Doug 🍻
Howdy Marc- I think you’re using good tactics to train the puppy. Good job ! God bless
Well if nothing else the puppy sure is having fun😆
Thanks Paul✌️
Cool to see the process. Nice work.
It is a work in progress!
Thanks John✌️
good stuff way to puppers!
Thanks EC! The puppy is having fa blast 😆
Interesting thoughts . Nice one Marc.
Thank you Steve✌️
How's she goin'? Great plan to get the dog ready for gunshots. I don't know anything about training dogs but this sure looks like a good method. Good on Dave for 'living' with his difficulty and not letting it lead him!! A hero for sure. Take care!!
Yes he sure is! And the puppy has done very well on his first hunting trip as well!
Thanks Mike✌️
Interesting video, Marc. I've heard stories where dogs bolt from their owners when the gun goes off. My uncle found a lost dog on an old hunting trail once. Good idea for a video. 👍
I also know people whose dogs will bolt if not in the house at the sound of thunder as well! And totally panic to any sharp noises!
Thanks for coming out Daryl✌️
Well done, Marc! That;s very interesting dog training. I see how it works to familiarize the dog with the noise. Let me see....Lexy did all the running and she got Riley to follow, and Dave did most of the shooting. You had it pretty easy, eh? That's so smart LOL I'll have to get a few people working for me...hahaha. Well done. Riley looked very comfortable with it all. Riley is going to make an excellent bird dog!! The old model 94. I had one in 30-30 but it got stolen with a number of others about 30 years ago. These guys watched us come and go hunting and then to work and one day they broke in when we were at work and cleaned us out: Guns, electronics, other stuff of value. I never got another model 94. But one thing about the theft made me somewhat happy. I had the bolts stored separately for several rifles so the thieves got no bolts for a .308. 30-06 and a 7mm-08!! I put the word out at local gun shops to be aware if someone came in looking to buy a bolt only. Another prized gun they stole (that was never replaced) was a .300 Savage lever-action with the brass rotary magazine. That was a beautiful rifle and so easy to carry-well balanced. They are hard to find in good shape! Anyway, great video, Marc. Dave IS an inspiration, helping out with limited vision. Thanks Dave and please take care!
Riley has no fear of loud noises, everything turned out perfect and he has gotten e taste of grouse hunting already. As for the thieves they had you figured out quite well by the sounds of things. It is disheartening to get violated. Thats a big loss financially and emotionally!
Thanks for stopping in Craig✌️
