I really enjoyed where they were going with a lot of these sounds. Whether or not they got there was a whole other discussion. The sounds may be different as well if the pedal station was plugged directly into a sound console as well, but I think this routing into an amp was far more common.
Multi-effect pedals tend to get a bad rap in the pedal community as the sound on them might not be as good as other pedals and they can be harder to customize. However, they can be a great launching point for a beginner guitarist to experiment with and be inspired by effects. For a more seasoned player, though they might not be great to gig with, they can be fertile ground for experimentation and song writing. If you can find one of these on Kijiji, Craigslist, Marketplace, Ebay or even a garage sale it can result in many hours of solitary fun. Anything that makes you want to actually play your instrument is a win.
This is part of a small series of videos showcasing some multi effect pedals from the past. For the first part I'm not tweaking any of the sounds, though you can, I'm just showing off the factory presets. This particular pedal happens to have an expression pedal, however, there isn't that wide of movement to get a wide range of sounds. The presets come in banks of 3, which to my brain means that they're designed to be used together. This could be a little off because the volumes of the three presets in the same bank are often wildly different.
Not a sponsored video. All gear was my own, except the pedal, and that was borrowed from a friend. Also, the table, but I am also not sponsored by any furniture companies, it was also borrowed for the video.
Signal path: Fender Strat into Ditto looper, into pedal into Fender Vibro Champ. Captured with a Shure SM57 into my interface into my DAW without and effects processing.

    Worst. Documentation. Ever.
Hence, I don't have it anymore.
Thanks for the trip down memory lane 🙂

Did you record a loop to test the effects or is someone playing while you’re doing this?

It's a loop. I've used this same loop for over a year to test out pedals. It's the best way to test out pedals. Thanks for watching!
