  • Hey guys! Welcome to a very cool flight aboard an Air Canada B767-300ER! When I saw that this flight was operated by this aircraft, I just couldn't help but get excited and book it, even though it was a red eye. This plane is one of only five mainline Air Canada 767s left in their fleet and they are all getting up there in age close to if not at 30 years old. In fact, Air Canada plans on retiring them this year (2020)...so I guess ride em while ya can :D. It definitely shows its age with some pretty weird and interesting lighting as well as a 90s looking lavatory, but it was comfortable and had some great FAs that made this red eye better than they're supposed to be. One thing to note, I did enjoy Calgary's domestic terminal, however the gate area that I was assigned seemed very poorly designed and I'm definitely not a fan of it. Not sure how the rest of Concourse D and E are, but hopefully it's not like C70-79. Also, I feel as if you had a connecting flight from say Concourse E to Concourse A, it'd be quite a LONG walk. YYZ is also a very nice airport, a little hub-like generic, but has many excellent features inside. I'll show off more of Terminal 1 in my next video. Hope you guys enjoy!

    Taken this route many times back when I used to ski or go on scenic drives out in the Rockies. Sometimes you can see the northern lights on the red-eye along this route as I did once.

    The longest flight I have ever been on was on a USAirways Boeing 767 from my native Stockholm, Sweden to Philadelphia, PA. Flight time was about 9.5 hours. However, I flew in first class so I didn’t care. It was awesome!! BTW, at least the baby wasn’t crying the whole flight.

    Another Classic Video TJG! Calgary is a Beautiful City at night! That was a very unique looking plane inside. The "Pods" as you called them do look comfortable! 8.5 was the right score for a Red Eye! TJG does not do dumb things! :D Great Intro tune as well as the classic outro tune! Love it! Ricky :)

    Hi Jazzguy,
    Another fantastic trip report! Always nice to catch this classic 767 in the old AC livery as well! Nice to see those good old comfortable seats, shame about the veeery slow ife though. Good thing it was a red eye flight :D
    Awesome views of Calgary as well, keep up the good work!

    your videos are very entertaining and fascinating......you know alot about air travel.....Air travel is not my cup of tea...I hate flying but I still watch anyway.....I am a big fan of train, bus and cruise travel, these types of videos make you feel like your on vacation.... and you can watch whenever you want......I work and unfortunately, can't find alot of time to travel as much as you do....I live in Vancouver, Canada which is about 12 hours by highway and maybe 1 hour 30 minutes by flying.....I love how you showed the Calgary Flames scoring a Goal at the beginning..... great city video too.... I have relatives in Calgary....great little city..... Unfortunately, I cheer for the Vancouver Canucks....and we take on the Flames....Calgary has many Stanley Cup Champion ships....Vancouver has none and we struggle to win one.....I follow your blog yesterday....and Love it....Keep up the good work.....and keep the videos rolling.....

    Woo! I personally love this airline, great service, decent seats (besides the IFE, maybe the problem was the old livery?), about everything you need to have yourself comfy. Hopefully you don’t encounter the takeoff crying babies situation..

    With as much as you fly, I am sure that crying child won't be your last one. Rest assured the parent(s) felt the same as you and probably more so since it was very possible they did not know why the child was crying and made every effort to stop him! I was on a flight for 1hr 40min with my youngest son screaming the entire way and there was nothing I could do to help him out. Even the flight attendants tried to help and with the understanding passengers around us, it was still a miserable flight and I thank God it wasn't any longer than what it was and I am sure the passengers did too!!!! My son survived and so did I. Take care!!!!!

    A bit off topic, but unlike YYZ, I'm glad YYC decided to just renovate and expand the existing terminal instead of building a new one from scratch.

    My least favourite plane in their fleet. Yea i know it's really old and it really needs to go soon. I flew it for the NRT to YYC route and I was quite disappointed. Ever since, i've paid really close attention to what kind of plane is used on the routes i consider

      Daniel C I totally agree ... this plane is a POS... i was booked on it at the end of this month .... but ... they’ve cancelled the flight ... and reassigned me through YVR.

      It and the 330 were also the most comfortable planes in the fleet. With this gone and the 330s getting refurbished with inevitably less padded seats who knows.

    Did Air Canada actually any order 767-300s or did them get them after they took over Canadian Airlines: A merger between CP Air and Pacific Western Airlines

    • @calvinrovinescu6166
      @calvinrovinescu6166 4 года назад +1

      Both from the merger and their own. All of their own got moved to the rouge fleet and ultimately some of the exCanadian ones did too, but all of the last ones standing in the mainline fleet for the last few years were exCanadian

    Call me insane, but if I can book a red eye, I will! That’s because I have to have noise and light to sleep (hence why I usually play videos of plane spotting) and I like to sleep on several pillows almost upright lol, so I get that here with the benefit of being on a plane lol
