I remember very well that day in September of 2003, because We lost two Johns that day, John Ritter and Johnny Cash. That day was really tough, John Ritter went way too soon. R.I.P. John Ritter.
Back in 2003 i was supposed to go to LA and attend a live taping of "8 simple rules" and I was so excited because I had always been a huge fan of John Ritter since I was a kid and now I was gonna see him in person! But then I got an e-mail about a week before the taping that said that live taping was cancelled because John Ritter had passed away - I was about as dissapointed as you can get - John Ritter was a great beacon of light and a comedic genius that was taken from us way too early - now I'll be singing the theme from Three's Company all day long - Come on knock on our door...
I had the honor of skiing w/ John’s older brother in our handicapped ski program at Pierce College in the 80’s. I was a blind and handicapped ski instructor, and we took his brother up on the beginners slope at Mountain High. Although physically he struggled, but he did well, and we hoped that his balance was helped with our working with him. Im very grateful to him for helping me propel into my career as a physical therapist. A true gentleman who stood tall by his perseverance!
He has a more grand memorial - the body of fantastic work that he left behind for his fans to watch, enjoy and cherish!!! His actual grave and headstone are for his family really - and I'm sure, like everybody else, they wanted something dignified and not ostentatious or in your face, as while they understand that people will inevitably visit his grave to pay their respects, they'd probably rather not turn it into a neon bright tourist attraction that's highly inappropriate, y'know?!....
Suzanne Somers mistakenly assumed that she was the star of the show playing the ditzy blond. She found out eventually that she was replaceable. John Ritter was the star of Threes Company and could not be replaced. Everyone watched the show because Jack made them laugh. John Ritter was a comedic powerhouse that everyone loved.
I was 19 when Three's Company premiered on TV. My grandfather thought it was scandalous that a guy was living with two girls on a TV show! He wouldn't allow us to watch Laugh-In in his house, either :) Anyway, we were all crazy about the show back then and especially John. On a side note, Joyce DeWitt was appearing in my city in a Christmas play back in 2010 or 2011. My office was across the street from the theater. I was walking back to my office from an errand and there she was...standing next to a lamp post, smoking a cigarette, taking a break! I totally fangirled at age 58 LOL I ran up to her, welcomed her to our town and gave her a big hug! She was a total sweetheart. I've seen everyone out and about from Ringo Starr to Leon Russell and I've never fangirled...EVER! But, I did for Joyce :) Miss those great days of television. Thanks, Jordan. RIP John
pps: my sister was an RN in the ER Dept at the hospital where John passed. She wasn’t on duty at the time, she had just moved out of state. But what she did understand by her coworkers, was that he came in with a torn and hemorrhaging aorta, which is and can be suddenly fatal, as it was in John’s case. This is very different from typical “heart attack” symptoms which are often overlooked and sadly ignored, when time is of the essence. His widow’s grief is certainly understandable, but when he came in, there wasn’t much they could do, with the blood loss and damage (especially thinking it was food poisoning all day on the set). Very, very sad case, and the whole staff felt it. He was known to the hospital and well liked.
Yes he was correct i am a part of the 10% of dissected Aorta survivors and it is pretty hard for most Emergency Room people to figure out what is going on in my case they ruled out a heart attack pretty quickly but i had to keep convincing people that i knew something was wrong eventually a cardiologist wound up seeing something on a X-ray he thought was wrong i also thought originally thought i had food poisoning as well i had this happen not long after John Ritters publicized death and i did have many nurses and doctors refer to him At the time so on top of him being a loved Actor and comedian I believe he did a lot of awareness for the torn Aorta and actually helped save my life by making medical personal More on alert of a not very common deadly medical condition at least in that time era
@@apriltownsend8463 they do have to do tests to diagnose what is wrong, sure some will come back as not the cause, but different tests have to be performed
Such a sad sad day this was. I was working at Universal Studios at the time and I remember it was like Time stood still... Everyone around was on edge to hear his outcome... I remember you can hear the ambulance from our back lot while they rushed him to the Hospital... He was just a born natural to do slap stick Comedy just like Lucille Ball... Truly missed but never forgotten 💛
JR WAS Three's Company, his talent really pushed that show forward. His co-stars were great in their own right, but if there was anyone elsewho was the lead, it would have been another sit come. Ritter's comedic timing and talent was so organic and real. Its like he was wired for comedy from birth. The show was ahead of its time..
That is hard to believe that John Ritter has been gone since 2003. I always enjoyed watching him whether it was on TV or the movies. Even my father after he retired could not get enough of Three's Company reruns and watched it daily. What a lovable guy taken too soon. I loved his epitaph on his gravestone how fitting for him. With a torn aorta, isn't that was killed Princess Diana? not sure anything could have been done to help him survive that. Rest in peace John you are loved and missed by many. And yes I can see the resemblance of your Dad and John Ritter.
My brother Tore his aeorta, fell to his knee and told his daughter he was fine, she called an ambulance and my brother had open heart surgery for ten hours. They did a by pass while they had him on the table. If it wernt for his daughter my brother would have bled to death. That happened ten years ago , he’s still with us. I always think of John cause my brothers happened right after johns we’ll soon after. 😞 sad I loved him to . Thank you for your vlogs on the Hearst and John.
Just came across this clog. My grandmother & Tex Ritter were 1st cousins, hailing from the big city of Gary, TX (pop 202). Here in Carthage, TX, we have the country music hall of fame which is dedicated to Tex. As far as I know, John's only visit here was to cut the opening ribbon on the hall. Which is sad. The family here would have loved him so much. Maybe we'll get to meet him in eternity.
I just had to LOL when Jordan said that John Ritter wanted to be a baseball player or a politician but he really wanted to be a liar so he became an actor. The reason I laughed is, well politician. ..Hello??!
Thank you for including Buster Keaton 💙💙I loved him💙 when I was a kid I used to watch some of his old black and whites on tv with my grandpa💙You are such an amazing man for all you do for us💙Love you and Jah💙
Another GREAT vlog! I am a huge fan of the late John Ritter. I grew up in Nashville, TN and somehow my grandfather knew Tex because they were both into politics back in the day. I grew up watching Three’s Company with my grandfather and he would always tell me about John Ritter’s dad being the famous TV cowboy Tex Ritter and how they were friends. One time he even made me sit down and watch old episodes of Tex’s TV show. As a kid I didn’t really dig it but I appreciate the gesture now. Anyways, great vlog like always man👍🏽 BTW-another kind of crazy piece of info is that John Ritter passed away the same day that Johnny Cash died. Sad day😞
Joyce DeWitt was walking with her husband and their dog in LA when she heard on the radio that was playing at a cafe that John Ritter had passed away the day before and she almost collapsed on the sidewalk from the grief and was inconsolable, her and John were like brother and sister
Well, I found myself both tearing up and smiling throughout this vlog. Jah helped the smiles win out. You did a very nice job covering the life of comedy great John Ritter. I saw him at Disneyland once promoting his show on ABC. He looked so approachable, yet larger than life. Thanks Jordan. Great work!
I have been told no one survives a torn aorta. How ironic that Lucille Ball also died of a torn aorta as was John Ritter’s diagnosis. No doubt he is sorely missed. R.I.P. all who have made our lives and living more bearable. ❤️❣️🌹🌴🌈
Loved three's company and john, Joyce, Suzanne Mr furley and the ropers ....Wow love the Mural on his high school of john that was Awesome 😎 thanks, Jordan🦁 & jah 🐾🐾🐾🐾
My guy was on his way to work one morning....and said....how could you forget that day.The Bob and Tom show out of Indianapolis,Indiana....reported that John Ritter and Johnny Cash both died the same day.Two great people...!!
I grew up watching John Ritter as a kid in the 70s. I remember he played the minister on the Waltons and then later Three's Company. It is amazing. I now am just one year younger than his age when he died. Life seems so short and goes so quickly. Enjoy, love and be happy. Thanks for this great video!
OH man, I grew up watching John Ritter on Threes Company and all those shows that he guess starred on. You were trying to think of the other show you were surprised to see him on and I was talking to the iPad and saying, "MASH!". He played the crazy guy that almost killed Burns. Seemed like a great guy. I never watched 8 Simple Rules, but loved everything else he was in. That was a great tribute Jordan. He was taken way to early.
I loved John Ritter. He died on my birthday which is his daughters birthday. His wife wrote a book on grief which changed my life and helped me overcome severe ptsd about my birthday.
I'm in the UK and first saw John Ritter in IT as Ben Hanscomb. He was so warm and lovely in that role. I then saw him in Buffy (where he was quite terrifying!) and as the dad in Scrubs. Really good actor
"Just look away" hehe. I enjoyed this video so much dude. @6:00 very cool. It was so sad that his life was cut so short. My favorite John Ritter movie is Stay Tuned (1992) I've never seen Real Men, but now I want to give it a watch.
Awesome vlog today, Ritter was a great comedian, and his characters were so believable, even in rather silly situations. Sad his death was not prevented, his pretty wife has never remarried. It's been 15 years, time sure flies. Jah was so cute today, thanks for sharing all you do with us.
I am new to this vlog my husband introduced me to his videos and I have to say I am a FAN. My fav one so far is this one John Ritter everybody loved John it's like he was your best friend everytime you saw him on 3 company. And also the reason this is one of my favs is because of the little dog 🐶 in his videos he is so freaking cute. I love dogs and I'm so glad he include him in his videos.
I have such a soft spot for John Ritter.. loved him in Three's Company and of course Problem Child. I remember when he passed away I cried and it was like I felt I knew him. He will always be remembered. I am binge watching your videos. they are fabulous.. keep up the great work my friend.. 🧡xx
John Ritter was advertising to help you do well in school some videos on t.v. once. And I called to buy them but they were too expensive and told them I couldn’t afford it. Well I think a couple days later I was in class in college and he called and asked for me to help me with the videos. I was so shocked. Such a very good and humble man.
Wow, man - I just found and subscribed to your channel last week, and this was the best surprise ever. My dad was Tex’s guitarist in the ‘60s and ‘70s, and our families were close. Dorothy drove my mom to the hospital when she was in labor with my brother! :) I was born a too late to remember spending time with them, and your tour made me feel like I was able to experience the stories my siblings and parents talk about. Thank you!
Wow your dad does look like John! My mom liked the neighbor on Three's Company and I liked John. LOVED him in Sling Blade. So sad when he died. I watched his new show and loved it. Great vlog, and give the Jahster loves and hugs from me!
💋You never fail to deliver great vlogs! Your respect, editing and cinematography is great! Thank you for being true to who you are. An original! Your signature style is excellent. I just adore you. Sincerely, I am a true fan. Blessings to u Jordan and ofcourse Jah! Also to your channel. Love and Light 💖Carli
Mr. Ritter was one of my favorites as a kid ..I loved when he would fall over the couch on "Three's Company" such a great show plus I had a huge crush on Krissy. Also loved him in "PROBLEM CHILD".😂 "come and knock on my door..we've been waiting for you..😁Great job bro..this is really cool! RIP JOHN
KLEARSKI THE KREEPER I totally sang “come and knock on my door...we’ve been waiting for you” as I read it 😂 Loved that show and Problem Child too! I’ve never rode a tilt-a-whirl at a carnival without thinking about that movie since the first time I saw it when it first came out! 🤮🤣
Thank you! I am glad I found you. I can't wait to see more and watch some of your previous videos. John Ritter was one of my daughters and my favorite actors.✌
Precious memories. John had the same heart disease that his father, Tex, did. I don't believe they found that out until it was too late. I'd also like to add that when Tex Ritter was on stage performing, the Statler Brothers ( country music group) would babysit John. John and the Statlers were great friends throughout their careers. Later on in the late 80's John would introduce the Statlers at a White House function for George and Barbara Bush. There is no video that I can find on RUclips, but I have a copy of it in my archives. There is also a very funny story with John and the Statlers in Jerry Lewis' dressing room when Jerry was on Broadway with "Damn Yankees", but I've already taken too much space here. John was definitely one in a billion. Thanks for the vlog, Jordan!
John Ritter was so awesome! And like you said such a down to earth kind of guy. I sure love seeing Jah! It adds that personal touch in your videos and I always say if you don't love animals you ain't for me. Thanks Jordan! Great video!
John Ritter was one of those very few entertainers that are so beloved that you never hear any scandalous or negative things about(even over a decade + after his death). He had such a kind look about him, yet he was very talented & pulled off negative roles effortlessly. Thank You for creating & posting this. You can tell you were a fan of his & very passionate about making this. This is the first time seeing one of your videos & I subscribed & look forward to see what you do in the future. ❤❤ My only suggestion would be is to close the video with the grave site vs going there right after Hollywood High School. Again great video can't wait to see more of your creativity. ❤
John Ritter was really one of the good guys of Hollywood...well-liked by all, no scandals. He made Three's Company. The girls were good but they were really there for T & A. Buster Keaton was absolutely amazing. Some of the things he did in his movies were mind-boggling.
John Ritter had such great charisma. Loved watching Three's Company because of him. Didn't know he was on the dating game. Great vlog. I loved seeing Señor Jah!❤
Wow, no kidding, your dad looks just like John Ritter! I would watch Threes Company as a kid in the 80's and definitely remember him in Problem Child. Seems like he was such a nice guy and so young to pass and the way he did. Great vlog as always, thanks Jordan.
First, I would love to say what a precious sweet dog you have...next, although I am saddened by the death of sweet John Ritter, there is no doubt in my heart that his beautiful spirit is very much alive and well, and still very active in many people's lives. Thanx for this awesome vlog
Jordan, Kelly here in Knoxville, Tennessee. Wanted to encourage you to continue doing what you do.. You truly are a gift to everyone, especially those of us who are unable to travel and see all the interesting things to see in the United States of America 🇺🇸. I enjoy all of your Vlogs, and Jah too, of course ❣😇⚡🎶⚡🇺🇲👍
Thank you for this. John Ritter is my one of my idols. So unreal he is gone. Just became a fan of your youtube channel. I dig everything you're doing. Much love from Chicago.
Happy to learn that three of my favorite slap stick comedians were laid to rest in Forest Lawn. The great John Ritter is still in a three’s company situation, as far as I’m concerned, with Laurel and Keaton. I first saw him as a minister in The Waltons. He never disappointed with whatever role, dramatic or comedic, he took on. Once, he turned in a fantastic performance in an episode of Law and Order: Special Victims Unit. Thanks for the tribute to an excellent actor and a wonderful human being!
that was very nice and a wonderful tribute to Ritter's memory. now on knowing more about J.R. and his long history with and within Hollywood he seems even more extraordinary that he "never went Hollywood." he was unique.
Great video Jordan! My Mom always say "Bo Weevil" I always admired John for his Cerebral Palsy work. I was the "March of Dimes" poster child in 1961 for Columbus Ohio. Thanks Again!
Hi Jordan! I have been watching your vlogs since I discovered them on RUclips here. I thought that I would also let you know that John Ritter had a spinoff from Three's Company known as Three's A Crowd that only ran on ABC for one season from 1984-1985. Then another TV series that he was on ABC was Hooperman that ran from 1987-1989. I liked the show especially the dog that he had called Bijoux. He plays a police detective that inherits a apartment building and eventually hires someone to maintain the building for him since he is a detective for the police in San Francisco. I even remember when both John Ritter and Amy Yasbeck both appeared on The Cosby Show the episode is called Total Control and was done right around the time in between Problem Child and Problem Child 2. That was a hilarious episode to watch as John was playing a nervous father to be I believe it was. Then when Amy Yasbeck was on Wings John Ritter played Casey's ex-husband Stuart Davenport. I became friends with Amy Yasbeck for a very short time and I was going to ask her some questions and before I could do that she unfriended me. I respect and understand that she wanted to remain more than likely private about her life. I attend conventions in the Midwest pretty much. I have not gone to any conventions on the East Coast or West Coast even though I have been invited to go to them. I have met a stuntman/actor several times who worked with Amy Yasbeck in House II: The Second Story. Plus, John Ritter in the late 90's appeared in Buffy The Vampire Slayer on the episode called Ted. I happened to catch that when it was shown in reruns on the FX Channel in the 2000's. I was a big fan of the show Three's Company and anything really that John Ritter worked on during his career. Like The Roppers his spinoff Three's A Crowd just did not have the chemistry that Three's Company had and that is why I think it was short lived of a show. You can catch Three's A Crowd on Antenna TV. Keep the vlogs coming Jordan I enjoy watching them.
I really enjoyed this, Jordan. I have always been a big John Ritter fan, too. It was so sad when he died. I enjoyed the Mexico vlogs so much I rewatched them! Hope Jah’s okay. It seems unusual for him to plop down on the grass when Tailwaggers is on the agenda!
Very sad about John. The sad thing is he could of been ok if the right doctors did there job right. My husband had the same thing in 2005 and had surgery and is alive today.Great vlog today Jordan thank you. I never knew john actually went to the hospital because I thought he died on set.
Hello, Jordan and Jah. Thank you for sharing John Ritter's life. Now I'll have to dig out 'Skin Deep' my favorite John Ritter movie. Have a great day Jordan and Jah.
Jordan, very well done as usual. I avoided watching this vlog for a while, until today. Like you, me, and everybody, we all still miss John, and to reflect on his passing brings sadness. I remember the day he passed, I just woke up to go to work and looked at the TV screen and it was on CNN, and they had his photo with the notes, "Remembering John Ritter". It was like someone punched me in the gut. I'm glad I watched this Vlog, even though it was a bittersweet viewing. Glad you showed a photo of your Dad too. Yes, very much a look-a-like for John. He could have been his stand-in if he was the same height as John's. Cheers, Jeff
My father was a guitarist, like myself. Musicians are all over both sides of my family. When he was alive and young, my dad played guitar with Tex Ritter. So, there's a 'degree of separation' thing going on with John. Haha!
I remember very well that day in September of 2003, because We lost two Johns that day, John Ritter and Johnny Cash. That day was really tough, John Ritter went way too soon. R.I.P. John Ritter.

For someone so famous I expected that there would be a more grand memorial . Im glad to see the high school picked up the slack. He was a great comic.
Right? Me too-he deserved better
I think that when you're dead, you don't care about your headstone, so....!
He has a more grand memorial - the body of fantastic work that he left behind for his fans to watch, enjoy and cherish!!!

His role in Slingblade is amazing. Such a versatile actor, thanks for sharing this. Great video
He and Billy Bob Thornton were close friends. He created the character Vern just for John and he owned it just like everything else he did.
I forgot he was in that movie Slingblade
Jordan's dad did resemble John very much. 😎

This one was touching. Your affection for John is apparent. He deserves this kind and sincere remembrance.
Love John and Three's Company. Getting misty eyed while you're talking about him at his grave. :-( Such a comic genius lost too soon.
John Ritter was a comic genius.
He voiced Clifford the Big Red Dog and that was part of my childhood!
Joyce DeWitt was walking with her husband and their dog in LA when she heard on the radio that was playing at a cafe that John Ritter had passed away the day before and she almost collapsed on the sidewalk from the grief and was inconsolable, her and John were like brother and sister
Very touching tribute to John Ritter. He is one of my favorite actors that I grew up watching.

John Ritter and Dorothy Stratten were so adorable in "They All Laughed"..one of my all time favorite movies.

I'm in the UK and first saw John Ritter in IT as Ben Hanscomb. He was so warm and lovely in that role. I then saw him in Buffy (where he was quite terrifying!) and as the dad in Scrubs. Really good actor
A very good vlog Jordan. I loved John Ritter and was heartbroken when I heard he had passed away. You gave a good tribute to him. 🌻
I watched Threes Company after school every day. Thank you Mr Ritter for keeping me off the streets and out of the pool halls.
"Just look away" hehe. I enjoyed this video so much dude. @6:00 very cool. It was so sad that his life was cut so short. My favorite John Ritter movie is Stay Tuned (1992) I've never seen Real Men, but now I want to give it a watch.
and very awesome to see Buster Keaton' resting place too! I agree with what you said about him.
He seemed like a genuinely nice guy. Growing up in Hollywood he could have turned out a whole lot different. His folks must have raised him right.
Beautifully done. RIP John Ritter.
Just started watching your channel a few weeks ago and I’m really impressed with your content. Pure entertainment. Great job. 👍🏻
Thank you
I love the simplicity of his grave. Gone way to soon.
Awesome vlog today, Ritter was a great comedian, and his characters were so believable, even in rather silly situations. Sad his death was not prevented, his pretty wife has never remarried. It's been 15 years, time sure flies. Jah was so cute today, thanks for sharing all you do with us.
Thanks for the wonderful tribute to John Ritter. 💙
It’s crazy he’s been gone for so long now. He seemed like a lovely person.
Three’s company was my favorite show growing up!! John Ritter was incredible!!!
Love jack tripper, the greatest male roommate with two female ever
🧡xx
Beautiful tribute to John ❤
John Ritter was advertising to help you do well in school some videos on t.v. once. And I called to buy them but they were too expensive and told them I couldn’t afford it. Well I think a couple days later I was in class in college and he called and asked for me to help me with the videos. I was so shocked. Such a very good and humble man.
John Ritter is fantastic! I just watched his work in the original It movie. And I catch Three's Company whenever I can too. Great vlog!
I Was Once Told Hero's Always Die And Legends Are Never Forgotten.. R.I.P John Ritter.
Very interesting! I didn't know about his appearance on the dating game.
Thank you!
Thank you!! Im really happy to hear you enjoyed it so much
Wow your dad does look like John!
Suzanne Summers was gorgeous back in the day.
Thank you! I am glad I found you. I can't wait to see more and watch some of your previous videos. John Ritter was one of my daughters and my favorite actors.✌
Thank you
Precious memories.
TFS! Great tribute to a great actor! 👍👍👍🤗 give that chocolate hunk of adorable Jah a belly rub!!!
Lovely vlog and loved John Ritter , a great talent taken away too soon .
Ok, this adventure made me cry.
John Ritter was really one of the good guys of Hollywood...well-liked by all, no scandals. He made Three's Company. The girls were good but they were really there for T & A. Buster Keaton was absolutely amazing. Some of the things he did in his movies were mind-boggling.
Great vlog Jordan! Such a terrible thing that happened to John Ritter. He will be missed. Rest in Peace!. Such a good, funny and well liked person.
John Ritter had such great charisma. Loved watching Three's Company because of him. Didn't know he was on the dating game. Great vlog. I loved seeing Señor Jah!❤
Loved John Ritter, Thanks for another excellent post!
Bless John Ritter taken too soon lovely tribute❤️thank you I love you and Jahxx
Wow, no kidding, your dad looks just like John Ritter! I would watch Threes Company as a kid in the 80's and definitely remember him in Problem Child. Seems like he was such a nice guy and so young to pass and the way he did. Great vlog as always, thanks Jordan.
First, I would love to say what a precious sweet dog you have...next, although I am saddened by the death of sweet John Ritter, there is no doubt in my heart that his beautiful spirit is very much alive and well, and still very active in many people's lives. Thanx for this awesome vlog
His physical comedy set him apart from his peers, great episode/tribute!
You deserve so many more subscribes and thumbs up, You are amazing and passionate in all your vlogs, You are a ray of light in this world!
Thank you
your welcome, i am having a day of sitting watching all your vlogs :) happy days
The derby that stimey wore on the little rascals was a gift from Stan Laurel.
The great John Ritter is still in a three’s company situation, as far as I’m concerned,
with Laurel and Keaton.
I loved john ritter so much! I was in 9th grade when he passed and i litreally can still remember crying at school when i found out 😢
Loved John Ritter. He was amazing Actor/Comedian.
that was very nice and a wonderful tribute to Ritter's memory. now on knowing more about J.R. and his long history with and within Hollywood he seems even more extraordinary that he "never went Hollywood." he was unique.
Always a fan of his. Thanks for all your videos. One day I'll make it to California and hopefully see all this
John Ritter sure was a slapstick comedian. I remember having to watch Three's Company every weekday that it came on T.V. The whole cast was great!
What an Amazing man Just loved him Dearly
Great video Jordan! My Mom always say "Bo Weevil" I always admired John for his Cerebral Palsy work. I was the "March of Dimes" poster child in 1961 for Columbus Ohio. Thanks Again!
Awesome vlog. Loved John Ritter. One of my favorite movies he did was IT. Thanks for sharing
Early in his career, John also guest-appeared in an episode of "The Rookies" ("Reluctant Hero"). Even then, he was very good & well-worth watching.
Tragic loss. he was amazing. RIP John.
Love him and I went to Hollywood High too!
This is so good, Jordan! Great job :)
Jordan Amazing vlog! I loved John Ritter💙
My father was a guitarist, like myself. Musicians are all over both sides of my family. When he was alive and young, my dad played guitar with Tex Ritter. So, there's a 'degree of separation' thing going on with John. Haha!
