Yeah, the first non numbered level is very easy, just Rock=You, move the rock to where you can push it, Rock=Push, push the rock pas the crabs, make Flag=Win, make Rock=You, done. His solution was infinitely more complicated.
Right ...his solution is more complicated....but he wasn't doing a speed run, he was appropriately using the intro screen which serves as an introduction to the entire game, concisely giving you pieces to play with so the pattern of the game is laid out. I did literally the exact same thing, and spent about 5 minutes on just this screen seeing what was and wasn't legal. It's a shining example of good game design, and made me immediately love the game and feel right at home ❤️

And Jon, you're not actually that bad at this game. You joke about being dumb but you're quite methodical and at least in the earlier levels you figured out the trick rather quickly.
He did good, but the later levels are silly levels of difficult. He'd either have to stop or look up how to do them. (Not to mention there are more than 200 levels)
Honestly (having watched a few peeps start a series and have it peeter off and having played it and getting to 180 myself) I think it's a terrible game to make a series of.

this is definitely a game where methodical will only get you so far you have to have a really creative and flexible mind to get through the later levels. Or be stark raving MAD!!! one of the two

i love how on the level with all of the skulls where youre meant to push "defeat" out of the way with the rocks, he overcomplicates it and uses the words to push it instead

Wow Jon, you are really good at this game. I think we all want a series.
A bit of advice: sometimes puzzles can really stump the player in this game, and it can be more productive to move onto another level and come back later, especially because other levels might tutorialise ideas needed for a solution. The game is really good at always giving you plenty of levels to play at any given time.

Gotta admit, I was waiting for "Well, ladies and gentlemen, I think you get the idea." Which would have been an entertaining lie.
When you realise he could have just moved the "is" down with one Baba and then moved "Baba" and "You" down with both Baba's and not have to over complicate moving "is".

For once I played a game before Jon! This is a tough one at later levels. Easy early on though, and you can skip the ones you get stuck on.

I love this game and I would absolutely watch a continuation of this series. (The un-numbered levels do tend to be harder.)

Actually, he couldn't. Wall is stuck in a place were it can't be pushed around. So you could make thing is wall or thing is stop, but Wall is Stop can't be changed.

I always find it strange that Brits drop Rs from the end of words but add them in without thinking to words that don't have them.
@@BRUXXUS It's called a "linking r," and it's used specifically between a word that ends on a stressed vowel and a word that begins with a stressed vowel.
you were on the right track with the baba is you, you need to make baba is wall and baba is you then you can just win. you have 2 is, just keep moving baba is you and is down till you get baba 1 above the wall then push the is into the level boundry.
Over complication to this level is an art.
The fact he discovered a double baba moving baba is you down, then decided it wouldnt work, even though baba is wall is stop and baba is you then diddnt even try had me

At 30:45 you could have just pushed both 'is's straight down, but 'baba iis wall' would mean 0 'baba's so no 'you'

Baba is a sheep, just like the nursery rhyme "Baba Black Sheep". In this case the sheep is white instead of black.

Hahaha. A very cute name.The game concept reminds me alot of *Calvin,* from Calvin & Hobbs, whose favorite play is *learning rules simply to change them.* In Hungarian (the only langyuage related to Finnish) Baba means baby (Vauva in Finnish). You start the game new born as a baby, learning rules then growing, changing into other things and changing rules to win.
PS: Nope, I am neither Hungarian nor Finnish but my "niece in law" is.
It wouldn't be a puzzle game if Jon didn't overcomplicate the answers the moment it gets challenging
