For me it’s just a dense whistle, as if her whistle was with more weight due to more adduction between the vocal folds. It sounded very similar to her D6 transitional break between whistle-chest voice in the very end of the VOL performance at the MTV Shining Through The Rain Special she did in 2002.

you can hear the "airiness" ig in the note that wouldn't happen in chest/modal voice (esp. for mariah who has a solid tone in her chest voice) so i think it's a whistle?? this sounds like when you go too low in falsetto/whistle resulting in a little tone and a lot of air ratio

1. Its not a belt. 2. it's flat so its an E6 whistle not an F6, it isn't a flat F6 otherwise it would be too sharp of an E6 if that makes sense. It's an in-tune but off key E6.
