Awesome work and I am so so jealous! Flying WAS a lifelong dream for me, but now at 67 pretty sure it will remain a dream. You go after your dreams while your young brother! Be safe and enjoy flying!🙏
My throttle friction had an issue and was on take off about 150 feet off the runway, and it slid back to half throttle in a second. If my hand hadn't felt it, we would have ended up in the lights.
I remember getting away from the home airport by myself , it was the flight where I realized that I have in fact learned a ton just to get to this point. All sorts of radio contact from Toronto Center and Cleveland Center was giving me a helmet fire but by the end of it I felt more confident. Cool flight man.
Omg its been ages since ive seen you. You were the reason i bought myself a ruroc rg1-dx helmet when you reviewed them on your super 73!! Great tk see you flying bro. Im preparing for my first solo this tuesday
Hello from the opposite side of the USA in Connecticut! Great content looking forward to seeing more of your journey. I have 150 hours myself and just started filming my flights. Still learning even after the PPL! +1 sub fam.
Great job man. Doing my cross country to KRNM hopefully in couple weeks as well. Let me know how your stage check went? I believe due to weather you weren't able to complete it when we spoke.
Great job Tristan, my XC from Fullerton will be down to KCRQ-KRNM-KCNO-KFUL. Excited for a test run into Ramona as i've only flown the Palomar dual XC a few times and now it's time for XC Solo. I'm just not familiar with Ramona so we're going to run it down there in a few days but it looks like a beautiful and wide-open airport.
Not bad man. My 2 XC’s been put off a month now from weather. Check ride in a week too. Prob not gonna make it. :( But you do freelance video stuff? I need things done business and pleasure.
Congrats mah boi!! It looked fantastic. Love the growth and the hair as well. Id love to get into it but it aint in the cards. I also dont wanna cut my dreads for the airlines or a corporation
Thanks bro! On year 7 with the hair haha. I'm not cutting mine for a while, I just want to be able to fly recreationally. I don't have interest in flying for the airlines.
Beautiful just beautiful. I sure can use ur expertise on photography & video production for my aviation journey as well. What's ur email? #salute my gud brotha!!!!!
That first cross country is most memorable.
For sure!

Hah.. I remember my first solo XC some 1500 hours ago.. Mainly because I got lost! No GPS in those days..:). Great radio work BTW!
Bro, keep your hand on the throttle when taking off.
Noted! I usually do, slipped my mind this time.
@@FlyWithTristan only takes once.

I’m trying to get into this field. Watching you do your solo cross country makes my palm sweaty. How do you stay so calm?
Love how you were confident with the ATC! I'm just starting, 5 hrs through. Your videos are motivational :)
Definitely a nice cross country brother! You’re moving along pretty quick. Very nicely done!
Thank you Russ! Love the progress I'm making so far. Thanks for watching!
About to head off on my own solo cross country flight for the first time so this was super inspirational!
You are on you way to better times. very nice video.
Thank you!

That’s a lot going on in your ear for a VFR flight! 👏🏾🙌🏾💪🏾
So looking forward to my first VFR xc with flight following! 🙏🏾🙌🏾☀️🥰🎉
Haha, I love it! Nothing like doing your first cross-country in busy airspace. Good luck with your first xc!
Nice vid. Any advice for getting comfortable with radio communication? Any apps u used to practice or any methods u recommend?
I recommend chair flying and also using the LiveATC app where you can listen to comms at any airport.
If you have a sim get pilotedge. That had me comfortable with comms before my first CX and it gets you over mic shyness fast
I’m doing my XC solo next week (in Kentucky) “Plane English” is a great app. Also, my CFI would simulate ATC comms during our flights.
Great content! Flew a lot around SD and Socal 15 years ago. Miss it.
Thank you! It's beautiful flying out here.
