the "note" at the end during the victory fanfare just reminds me of old Sci Fi movies because it sounds like a theremin.
I helped with parts of this mappack (such as the retainer designs, World 4 decor and the minus world). Glad to see Leanne get the recognition for this. It’s a great mappack with a ton of charm

This game is exactly what I want to see come out as a real game. Old-school game with revamped pixel art, Parallax scrolling, more levels than the original classic games, the works. That's what we got out of Sonic Mania and I would love to see something of a similar vein happened to Mario or Megaman someday.

The instrument used to make that last note in the stage clear theme sounds a lot like if not a theremin. They're famous for making spooky sounding effects but they can be used for other types of music normally to give a Trippy vibe.

it sounds like the ending notes of Nes lost levels ending (try is on NSO and you know what i mean)
They’re taken from remixes you can find fairly easily on RUclips it’s not that in depth. It’s just that the only version of SMBRi with an actual composer never got past world 1

High pitched note at the end of the level is Kirby using his suck power for an extended amount of time

I love how it isn't just a few changes here and there, the settings, the graphics, and even the music has been insanely improved!
And also I love that Lair is back!
To me, the song reminds me of those old Halloween decorations. The ones that play a warbley melody and little red lights blink in the eyes when you trigger them.

I used to play Mari0 with my friends back when it was first released and I never thought it was going to get this big. I don't think there were any fan-made levels back then (If there was, I probably didn't saw them), but now it seems like there is new things coming up every week.
It makes me a little sad since I lost contact with pretty much everyone I played with, but at least watching them here is pretty fun.
They were some but they weren't as made often.
The game they're playing is a fork of Mari0 that is heavily modificated. It's like a hack.
1:58 this actually has an interesting story behind it. i'm pretty sure this is why it was included
in smb1, there was originally going to be cloud flying levels where you fly in a cloud and dodge enemies to collect coins. rather it was meant for a bonus area or not i've forgotten, but either way this is most likely the reason this was put in the mappack.
Oh wow, I didn’t even realise there was this reference in here. I guess I never payed attention to the bonus room.
it's not just a map pack but the best version of mario 1 ever made. better looking than its remake in all-stars. it's like a true super mario bros 2 was made.
Lair is back! Along with the Bowser fangame playthrough, BTG has returned to its past greatness.
Just clearing things up Horsetail plants are usually grown in farms or gardens and they and I quote
"To Stop Fungal growth"
Oh wow that's probably why bowser turns toads into them in the manual, that's cool.
@@Emery_Pallas and if you think that's cool, here a bit more SMB1 Trivia I learned about the manual.
People think it's all the blocks that are made from toads but it's the blocks that give you a boost (Mushrooms, Flowers, Stars, and Coins. I don't know about the Rotten/Poison Mushroom though) but apparently mushroom made blocks are actually a thing and fun fact their stronger than concrete pretty cool
You know, the level layout in some areas look like a mix of the original SMB, The Lost Levels, and SMB Special
Yeah that is deliberate, it started off as a mix of SMB1, TLL, VS and Special (possibly from a meme image iirc). and went on from there. The game got more and more original over time.

i think that this is cool, i also want to get into mari0 stuff some time and i probably would make sonic stuff or anything. Maybe also recolours or anything like that. I also liked the paralax bg. I always loved paralax bg like in Sonic because it makes it look a bit 3d and also a bit cooler

The sound effect that is playing during the reimagined level end music is the fighterfly sound effect from the arcade version of Mario Bros., which makes thematic sense. Pretty much all of the music in this game has been pulled from many other Mario games and then reimagined.
