Nice Scoops Will! Can you do me a favour please? Next time you are in your workshop can you tell me how much room you have between your lathe and the back all where your tools are? Just trying to plan the new workshop lol 😀
Finally, a productive use of all my little cutoffs and the “logs” the grandkids bring me :) Just never thought of using the chuck with one jaw removed. I truly hate making jam checks when there are multiple items that all vary in size.
@@William_Kenny I wish I had the time to stop by your set up looks great I will defiantly be stopping by next trip I hope you had a enjoyable easter be good William talk to you soon and your projects are truly beautiful and you do a great job with your editing your multi-talented best to the family
William, very nice video on Turning a scoop. I’m also a RUclipsr at Wyomingwoodturner. Just curious I noticed you have a switcher for your cameras. Would you mind telling me what you’re using for the switcher and also what kind of cameras? Thanks I appreciate your help Sam
Hi sam, Thanks for popping in. It's great to have you. I've been watching your channel for a few years now. The device I use is a streamdeck that controls my cameras, which are logitec brios all controlled by OBS. I hope this helps you out, if a more detailed explanation is needed just message me on messenger and I'd be happy to help, Kind regards From Will 👍 www.elgato.com/us/en/p/stream-deck-mk2-black obsproject.com/ www.logitech.com/en-eu/products/webcams/brio-4k-hdr-webcam.html?srsltid=AfmBOoozoXhZZyNFv98Y_rF_StytcfW4lm2kih5YqCmeseeCnMh3g1-6
Thanks very much Mark I appreciate you watching mate, I started my woodturning journey watching RUclips so I glad to be able to give something back, Kind regards From Will.👍😊
It was cut over a year ago so pretty dry I didn't check the moisture content, but even if it was a bit wet turning and sanding a small piece like a scoop it would dry out pretty quickly.
I don't over tighten the chuck, but sometimes I do get a little mark on the piece which I lightly sand off by hand, I also cut a strip off an old leather chamois and lap it around the piece to protect it from the chuck jaws, hope this helps you out, Kind regards From Will 👍

So that cherry branch was a dry piece of Branchwood?
It was cut over a year ago so pretty dry I didn't check the moisture content, but even if it was a bit wet turning and sanding a small piece like a scoop it would dry out pretty quickly.
They look good. Another item to add to the list of things to make. (It's becoming long)
Cheers buddy its all good fun happy and safe turning, Kind regards From Will 👍

They're lovely!
Thank you suzie 👍😀
How do you avoid marks from the chuck jaws pressing the wood?
I don't over tighten the chuck, but sometimes I do get a little mark on the piece which I lightly sand off by hand, I also cut a strip off an old leather chamois and lap it around the piece to protect it from the chuck jaws, hope this helps you out,
Kind regards From Will 👍
