I know this is only a small part of what you covered, but I have to say: companies that are so dead set on having people back in the office are going to be their own downfall. That's the fastest way to lose talent these days. Office culture isn't what it was (thank god lol) and it's just so annoying to me that there are some companies still trying to force that instead of just retaining good employees!
I couldn’t agree more! Unfortunately a lot of people feel the opposite which is so crazy to me.
I'm so proud of you for making the decision to quit!! I quit my job in October because I was terribly depressed, wasn't sleeping, anxious all the time, etc. I've been living off of my savings (with the support of my partner too, I know these are big privileges) but I've had time to read and paint and cook and actually spend time looking for a job that will be a good fit for me. It's been so nice, and I'm happy you'll get to have that too.
I am in the exact same situation. Left my toxic job in October and with the support of my partner and my savings I have been really taking the time to look for something I feel good about doing. It’s a scary situation to leave a job without another one lined up but it’s comforting to know that I am not the only one who took a leap of faith for themselves. ❤ Good luck to you on your journey!

The pandemic was eye opening for my mental and physical health. I was able to start my family during that time, and I was planning to be a stay at home mom, but found a job that was from home and worked with my family! Its honestly so amazing to be around my daughter to experience all the moments with her while still having something to feel professionally fulfilled at the same time.
I am totally sure you don't remember me from college, but I am SO happy for you! You absolutely deserve the freedom, balance, and (hopefully) joy this will bring! Having a child completely changed my work-life perspective, I was absolutely in the same boat and now I work 35 hours a week from home, with 0 regrets. I hope it's everything you want and more.
i just want to say that i find this video so incredibly inspiring.
i was also a gifted kid who has spent my entire life being busy. working full time, having a side hustle, getting my Masters. my home is in shambles and i eat takeout more often than i don’t.
my job has also transitioned us going back to the office, which has just been an extra layer of difficult after 3 years of working from home. i’m terrified to try something new but i know something has to change.
i can’t wait to see what you create with Sierra! and i hope this next chapter is amazing ☺️

This is such an incredible thing you are doing for yourself!!! You will love what you discover about yourself over the coming weeks/months/years! I made a step toward something similar recently, refusing to work outside my scheduled hours or while on PTO, it’s truly freeing walking away from work knowing the handcuffs are unlocked.
I am so looking forward to what I discover about myself without stress and anxiety weighing me down 🥰

I’m in a job that is horrible for my mental health currently. I do get a good amount of vacation though. I’m taking 3 weeks off for my wedding/honeymoon in June. After that I plan to go into full on job hunting mode and can’t wait.
I think these huge life moments (like weddings) are really big eye openers. Like, you should be able to enjoy those things without worrying about work!!

I made the decision (emotionally) about leaving my job when my contract ends and I KNOW the feeling of being in a wonderful work environment, but also being mentally/emotionally exhausted. But I will ABSOLUTELY be routing for you and living vicariously through you for the next few months until it’s my turn to leave. And (selfishly) I LOVE your content and I’m excited to see more 😈😘❤️❤️❤️

Hi Rachel! I relate sooo much! I've been working at the same place for over 10 years and the work is great and the people are great but I feel like I have NO life. I've been thinking about quiting for years but I haven't pulled the trigger yet. Hopefully some day. I also started a youtube channel and I also edit at nights and on the weekends 😂. It was also really hard for me to leave my house and to comute again after the pandemic. Also, I got pregnant during the pandemic, so having my baby at home makes it even harder for me to leave every day. Filming a video with the title like yours is my dream ❤. If I ever achieve it, I'll let you know. 💕. No, wait, let me write that again... WHEN I achieve it I'll let you know haha. Hugs from México.

I’m SO proud of you. I’m in the same boat and seeing you post this has given me hope
I'm around the same age as you, and also having some of the same mental shifts. I think we work hard for approval for so many years, trying to be productive enough, good enough, and smart enough, because "the world" tells us so many things about what "success" means. But do "those" people experience happiness in their own lives? Are they lost as well? And when panic attacks set in, will we finally listen to what our bodies are trying to tell us? We matter as people, just for the fact that we exist, and not just for what we can produce. Productivity and work are good, especially when we are given creative freedom, but rest and prioritizing family/friends are also important. We need to stop running toward some distant goal of perceived "success" and find peace.

Yes! She was (and is!) amazing. She had a baby during the pandemic so she wasn’t working after that which is the only reason I didn’t hire her back. But basically she was like a housekeeper on steroids, she did laundry, dishes, household chores, grocery shopped and meal prepped. Basically everything I needed to do but didn’t have time for. I’ve never been able to find someone else like her since.
