We all know the worst person in the multiverse is the girl who trades you the Haunter holding an everstone.
Its okay, i named my pokemon sokdeznuts
My feeling is that perhaps Giovanni actually lost against the Paradise Protection Protocol and they took the master ball he brought there. Then AI Sada/Turo were able to reverse engineer and fabricate a ton of them.
Pokémon Masters is actually very interesting and sheds quite a bit onto Giovanni's story since Giovanni is still trying to manipulate the team leaders into following his command. Trying to drive Team Magma and Team Aqua apart once again by putting the Red and Blue Orbs into the possession of their admins who end up being possessed by the orbs like in the anime.
Even in the Galar villain arc Chairman Rose from before the events of Sword & Shield is transported to the present and Giovanni as "somewhat a business man myself" attempts to use Chairman Rose's intentions of using Infinity Energy for his own benefit.
As much as people tend not to give this game attention, it actually adds quite a bit of lore as well as character building to the villains of the series.
Characters like Cyrus and Sophicles share a very heartwarming connection for machines, giving them a bit of a father-son dynamic, and it really shows you a different side to these characters as well as finishing their character arcs properly with characters like Hugh getting closure on his arc from B2W2 when he finally meets N and teams up with him to fight Ghetsis. With the exception of Lysandre, who still makes zero sense as a character and just goes "Yeah I'm a good guy now" for no real reason.
Sadly, the reason most people don't pay a ton of attention to Masters(myself included tbh) is because the game isn't canon.
NOW. THAT SAID. The depictions of the characters are pretty accurate, so while the stuff in the game isn't canon, it *is* a very good look at how the characters would react if these kinds of events happened, so it's great for character analysis still
My Main Character on Pasio: HOW MANY TIMES DO WE HAVE TO TEACH YOU THIS LESSON OLD MAN?!
Lysandre SAYS he's "just a good guy now," but he's still trying to build a military coup against Passio and murdering other gang members in the forest.
legit the only reason i still play that game is for the insight into the characters
At least Lysandre is the first person in the pokemon franchise to have a body count.
Remember when he boiled two rocket grunts alive?
Actually all of the evil team leaders come from different dimensions where they won because there wasn't a trainer to defeat them. This is proven by the dialog between Archie and Maxie after you beat them both they come face to face with each other and each of them claims to have killed the other. Which would mean that Giovanni would have had to go to two separate universes to get them.
Archie looks like a pirate ☠️
Rainbow rocket is one of the coolest post games we've gotten.
This felt like a classic pokemon theory.
Right!
A dream of mine is a game/series where it's set in an alternative universe where Giovanni wins by capturing Mewtwo and quickly taking over Kanto and Johto while getting collabation from all the other evil team leaders as he becomes the most powerful man and Pokemon Trainer in the world with him also becoming the Kanto & Johto Regions Champion where the the Pokemon Gym system is still active but drastically changed with some Gym Leaders joining Team Rocket while others feeling and hiding so they don't get killed.
But with this, you actually get to see how much Kanto has changed by making Saffron City their main HQ, turning Lavender Town into a Las Vegas type city while making Lavender Tower into a Casino where all sorts of gambling, trades and other explicit activities take place where they use both trainers and Pokemon for their services. And the main character for this would be a newbie for Team Rocket that all 10 years old are required to join by Team Rocket Law and after finding out what Team Rocket really is behind the shadows with Kanto and Johto being similar to a dictatorship, he and some other friends try to do anything to stop Giovanni and end Team Rocket.
I would call this series; *Pokemon Requiem.*
Kore ga... requiem, da
The worst person is hands down, a trainer that uses a master ball on an early route rattata
What about the person who goes to the first route with Magikarp just to use a Masterball on it? They’re pretty despicable.
@@PansyPopsespecially if he gives it an everstone
I used mine on a mgikarp. I was 8, I didn't read the whole game, and didn't know it was the only one in the game. Don't judge like that lol.
@@PansyPops I swear, I saw your comment AFTER I replied. I'm hurt lol.
@bankrupt_batman you evolved out right? Didn't keep it as a magikarp?
I'd just assumed that, Mega Stones being altered Elemental stones, certain Pokémon simply resonated with specific stones. There could be other potential Mega Stones that simply haven't been identified or else don't resonate with any (currently) existing Pokémon
*Lusallie holds a Beastball*
We have something like Master Balls, effective on pokemon from alternate dimensions who are powerful to just contain them and enjoy.”
I use warp panels to get into my~ I mean my mother secret lab…
*Behind her is nihilego and Nebby, polishing her own master-ball*
“I might be bad, but he’s pure evil. What should I catch?”
In Pokemon Masters Giovanni warps onto Pasio (the artificial island the game takes place in) with his Mewtwo
Later with the use of Pasio’s Sync Stones he is able to unlock Mewtwo’s Mega Y form
I am aware that for the most part, with the story of Pokemon Masters the characters are canon but the in-game events are not, but it would be wild if Giovanni was the only canon character in Pokemon Masters and he used what he learned on Pasio to gather alternate versions of team leaders separate from those who ended up on Pasio to create Rainbow Rocket
We miss the voice of Ash Ketchum saying we just finished watching a video by Bird Keeper Toby - that little bit with the channel's name was always great to hear…
Maybe Toby can get Alejandra Reynoso (the English voice of Liko) to record a similar line for new videos? Just maybe…
The villain teams: "Using the master ball will weaken their power..."
The player character: *"I have no such weakness."*
Love it!! The Beast Ball we get in SV was what convinced me Team Rocket would be passing through at some point for most of these same reasons. :D Would love to see the story explore what you suggested. Recent MastersEX Villain Arc and Giovanni's smile over the Paulo and the other trainers + his constant pride in Silver make me think all his scheming is in service of the greatest good. No way to make all the money if some jerk ends the world, yah.
Why would that convince you? We got one in SwSh as well. Same with the Dream Ball
@@pickedceasar1216 Aha yeah my comment was not clear at all. ^^* This is mostly my personal copium related to the animated series and TR, and how any storyline with connections to Ultra Space could expect to be visited by Giovanni. We saw the TR Trio in anime Galar (re: the beast ball you get in G8), however irregularly it was handled, and now I'll die holding my breath for the eventual Paldean evil team connection and their interactions with Giovanni. :P
I dont know for sure but i think at somewhere in the Pokemon cannon it is said that master balls are given to the professors to help in their research/ for outstanding scientific accomplishments. Maxie and Archie were researchers who once worked together to make a suit (the one from ORAS) that could go into the ocean depths, lava pools, and even space before splitting because they couldn't agree on how to best use their research. Cyrus and Team Galactic's whole cover operation was about energy conservation or something, and Colress is just a straight uo scientist. Lysander was also an inventor who had major funding and was probably given one as a nobel prize or something. Point is, most of these villain leaders would have had access to the master balls from their scientific backgrounds
I look at the title then looks at the thumbnail
That's not Cyrus
Toby, I know you are leaving soon. And I know that your videos for the last months of this year were going to be your best. And sir, you have succeeded. Loved this video. Proud of all the hard work you put into these videos. We're going to miss you friend.
In a world we'll probably never have, Legends Johto comes out next and has Rainbow Rocket Giovanni as the main antagonist, but in an endgame twist, we fight the new Rainbow Rocket - consisting of Giovanni, Ghetsis (because new Unova game), Lusamine, Chairman Rose, Briar (or whoever the main human villain of gen 9 is) and Volo.
Volo escapes through a wormhole at the end. Paradox Unova game potentially hinted at by Khu comes out after Legends Johto. It is gen 5 remakes with the twist of playing out slightly differently in a new timeline (think ORAS). The reason behind these discrepancies is revealed to be a time traveling Volo, whom we finally defeat and bring to justice. Gen 9 as a whole goes down as the greatest thing Pokemon has ever done on every level... except performance 😂
...I really, really like this theory, and it feels like one of your better and less pushed-for-content ones recently outside of your Brand ones. I will deeply miss your videos and wish you all the happiness in the world. And hey, you said maybe you'll come back. And if you don't find that old pokeobsession again, maybe... come back and share with us whatever one you develop along the way?
I remember in X&Y, you are given the master ball inside the pokeball factory.
6:40 I mean if the multiverse were to split from a point in time let's say red and blue you win or lose against Giovanni. So if you win it's the mainline games where every games evil team bosses learns from Giovanni's mistake where they see the master ball ist worth it because he still lost to a kid and they didn't get to see its effectiveness.
But in the split timelines where he would have won every other evil team that comes after knows of the great gangster Giovanni who caught the strongest Pokémon in a master ball so they decided to use master balls aswell because they saw his success and so they do the same thus making more branching timelines each evil boss being from a different branch from that original win from Giovanni.
This is a fun theory! The real life Toby shots were great lol
It's wild that Pokémon was doing the multiverse stuff before it became a trend.
Maybe Giovani traveling the multiverse created the paradox Pokemon like the butterfly effect.
I _knew_ I remembered a line about the Red Chain not dampening their powers like a PokeBall but this is the first time I've seen anyone address it
imagine a Pokémon continuity where Giovanni used his genius for good instead of evil.
honestly why aren't Giovanni and Cyrus enemies cuz of that? they each want to rule the world/universe and there can only be one supreme ruler. also imagine Mewtwo, a creation of man, taking on Dialga/Palkia, the creations of Arceus aka PokeGod.
That would be a great battle but from a lore standpoint I think Mewtwo would lose that fight.
@@lawznwdscMewtwo turned back time and erased everyone knowledge of said events in the first movie the time travel even ressurecting those who died in the storm getting to the island, that on top of the fact that Mewtwo itself is immortal it died and ressurected itself in the radio drama.
@AL-nv4gk what? Lol. That's not at all what happened. He merely wiped their memories and took them to the mainland. He can't turn back time or resurrect people lol
It be weird if Mewtwo had to use the Master Ball, not on its self but on a new ultimate weapon Giovanni had created and fled with it
I love how these recent videos are blurring the lines between the dimensions~
Maybe Giovanni uses Area Zero and Sada/Turo to make his master balls?
Ah, but traveling through dimension AND time has been possible since Gen 2. Bill created the Time Capsule, which allowed trading with the Gen 1 games. And one need only remember that the Virtual Console versions of the Gen 2 games released during Gen 7, making the link between the GB games and modern titles possible.
As for the potentially artificial nature of the Mega Stones, I would propose two alternatives. First is that the Mega Stones were created by the firing of the Ultimate Weapon, but had no known purpose. It was nothing more than a scientific curiosity. I mean, until someone decided to look closer. What if Dr. Fuji at one point noted a similarity between the energy exuded by the stone and Mew, yet not quite the same? What if the Mega Stone inspired Dr. Fuji to make Mewtwo? The mansion was implied to have belonged to Dr. Fuji, who after the incident denounced his profession and used his wealth to instead help Pokemon like Cubone are the Pokemon House. But his true motivation for seeking out Mew and making Mewtwo still seem quite... non-existent. This is a man who, to this point in his career, was interested in bringing back long dead species of Pokemon. Why would he capture Mew and create an edited clone secretly in his own home? Why did he do it and when did he decide he had gone too far? Did Mewtwo escape because Giovanni tried to steal Mewtwo or did Giovanni only learn of Mewtwo because the League posted a guard at Cerulean Cave because Mewtwo went there to hide? There are still too many unanswered questions...
The Let's Go games expand on Giovanni's knowledge of Mewtwo. The Silph Co. President accused Giovanni of stealing the Mewtwo research. This is not impossible, given that the incident in the Pokemon Mansion not only seems to be relatively recent, but thieves are looting the mansion as you investigate it.
Another possibility is that a Mewtwo(there are multiple and it's canon) at some point does end up traveling back in time. Pokemon Conquest does have a Mewtwo in it. Mewtwo have a certain affinity towards caves... Also let's not forget Arceus doesn't have a problem with throwing people through time whenever it wishes so long as it'll be for the best. So Mewtwo can be anywhen Arceus desires.
This is an video made for me, as an team rocket fan and it being my favorite evil team! I loved it! Giovanni is the best ! Keep doing your amazing work toby!
style theory / marikiplier colab?!
Love this video Toby.
We also see the Terrastal crystals here. And the Teal Mask and Indigo Disk show tgat with enough of these crystals, Pokemon can take on a new form, sometimes with a new type. What if these are the crystals AZ built his ultimate weapon from and the Mega and Key stones were carved out of?
0:05-0:08 ma'am in the dark blue skirt got the GYATT
Tism Ramblings:
I have this feeling that the Pokeball manufacturers may have created a master ball prior to their mission statement. Of all the Pokeballs, Great, or Ultra, etc. that were successful, what if they were successful because of a manufacturing error? (Even with every status condition, ball type, and health amount, there's still a chance it could fail.)
Because why would you ever need to buy so many if they were intended to be so effective, if not for corporate greed.
Maybe those critical captures aren't so critical, but how the product was always intended to be? a Master Ball? Why is the technology of pokeballs so inconsistent? Aside from the paint, what differentiates the successful Pokeball, from that of a Master Ball?
I crave a Pokemon game that takes the time travel idea and runs with it in a more Oracle of Ages style
I can't believe you're filming in Tokyo with all those people walking by. They're just hearing you talk about the raid and having the Master Ball like it's an ordinary day.
I think sada was just extremely lucky in the lottery
what if we face them again when the franchise turns 30 with lusamine, rose, sada and turo
I'm pretty sure it flat out says that sada/turo built their own master balls and I think it's more likely that they just reverse engineered the one they got from the academy given that they were basically the smartest people in the world.
We don't need Iron Brain, we just got a Mewtwo that probably outclasses Arceus in the latest raids. One that we can really only beat by having four bug typed mew with heals and Sp Attack nerfs. or mud slap.
The King has uploaded
“A pokeball with a 100% catch rate”
Whiscash: “I took that personally” 🤷♂️
It is implied that rainbow rocket geovani got to your world as a side effect of the ultra necrozma disaster and used that to get to your world and pull all of the other bosses to your world
Wait… if there is a confirmed multiverse, then is there a universe where the only pokeball ever made is the master ball?
Daaaaaaaang, this was a GOOD one!!!!
All this isn't even including what was going on in pokemon masters.
Multi verse could it be ? Think of how the Maxie and Archie looks different😮😮
I’m hoping we see this version of Giovanni in one the mainline games again not a side game like Pokémon masters.
lol the people looking over at Toby in Tokyo, like “what is that guy’s deal?”
I’m pretty doubtful that Giovanni would have gone to Area Zero, unless we can get some more direct, non-circumstantial evidence.
Giovanni at the end of Ultra Sun/Moon: "Now, which world should I try to take over next!"
GameFreak: "HAHAHAHAHA... We're never going to follow up on that ending because f*ck the fans. Lmao!"
My guess is that Silph Co made a limited batch of master balls (after they produce the test batch) and some were given to Professors and the others were stolen by employees and criminals. That's why so many are in circulation.
or they lied about ceasing master ball production
I think it will be funny when people try to say Pokémon Sleep will connect to Pokémon Black and Pokémon White remakes, because they both had dream features, they it doesn't come true.
I ran into a 12 minute ad to get here.
Thinking about Team Rainbow Rocket and how it's made of all the most evil people gave me the craziest idea. Hear me out. Bug, Fighting, and Fairy type Pokemon, using same typed moves on THE LEADERS THEMSELVES. All of them have dark hearts and minds, so attacking them with the three types strongest against the Dark type makes sense. Plus, these guys are the WORST people in the ENTIRE MULTIVERSE. They deserve to get attacked by the Pokemon they have abused. And the best part, I'm just imagining the player character walking into the base and leading with a Ribombee. Then Giovanni just laughs at them, only for Ribombee to fly right next to his head and use a powerful move.
"And that's when he realized, he f*d up." /ref
7:56 the online was cute and unique not horrible
I love this theory
Hmmm... who is the company in charge of making the portals, they appear in every region it can't be all Silph Co whoever developed portal tech & let villains use them is the real master mind.
You are forgetting gen 1 takes place around the same time as gen 3 and gen 4 takes place around the same time as gen 2
Why'd you change the title and thumbnail? Lol
Or most likely Sada and Turo contacted Silph Co. or the Pokeball Factory and had them shipped en mass to them. It’s more probable and plausible especially since they both are professors and both are champions
But your theory is definitely the more fan oriented one and would be cool if it’s true. Just very unlikely unfortunately
I think that Mewtwonite was dervived from Mew.
Giovanni could totally still show up in area Zero
I'm not counting on it, but it would be an amazing surprise if he randomly showed up in the last part of the 2nd DLC
tho then again who to say there's not other robotic version of Pokémon in the future we yet to see
like a robotic Mewtwo or Charizard or even something like Mew or Celebi
It isn’t that outrageous that the Masterball would be put into production even after the Sylph Co. CEO/Director says they aren’t going to produce them.
Most large corporations are Amoral because they have a legal, fiduciary responsibility to their shareholders. This responsibility is so binding that theoretically the Sylph Co. Board would likely vote to fire the CEO if they found out that he had spent all the hundreds of millions of dollars on R&D of the Master Ball, gets a working, Production ready Design and then decides to voluntarily cancel production. There is a good chance that the answer is that once the CEO steps down, for whatever reason.
His successor would immediately put the Master Ball into production. Having a product like the Master Ball sitting there ready to go to market your first Day as a CEO is a Dream come true. It is a luxury consumable product with a Demand that based in k the world’s societal and cultural foundation.
Giovanni could be the most powerful human in Pokémon World. What's interesting is he is not entirely destroying each universes himself
I feel like that we are not done with Giovanni even after Rainbow Rocket event
TRR appearing in Area Zero would really open the world up more. Having to clear them all out while they are trying to capture a specific Pokémon down there. Even as far as to Geeta herself going down to deal with the situation personally! Only to be defeated so easily by the time we catch up. Seeing the arc continue of Giovanni trying to take over the multiverse (and possibly also coming WITH Mega Evolution for an extra challenge) down there would make for a possible intense moment. An example could be that Giovanni wants the "time machine" for his own purposes so he can truly become unstoppable with an army of Legendary Pokémon from different timelines. Maybe having Arceus on your team during that moment can do something similar to what Mew did in the Mewtwo raid. Just a speculation point there. Just doesn't seem like the team that would be so easily separated after USUM.
Giovanni loses: "Why do I keep losing to children?"
@@tonybrewer7536 The frustration of losing again would be widely amusing. Something that just occurred to me does regard the Paradox Pokémon even. If a future form of Mewtwo does show up, then what about one from the past? Only one to fit would be the one Ghetsis seeks himself.
And the Cherish Ball?
It's no wonder the japanese think "The West" is weird...
I have a theory. Dr fuji, creator of mewtwo, is mr fuji son, the pokemon shelter man. He talks about his son dieing which inspired him to take care of abondoned pokemon. Maybe mr fuji is trying to show mewtwo that people can help pokemon. He stays next to the pokemon cemetery because he cant visit his sons grave because there wasnt a body to recover. Dr fuji teamed up with Giovanni to bring his daughter back, but unfortunately succeded when his daughters soul went into mewtwo giving him his ability to speak. When she "died", mewtwo blamed itself for her loss causing him to panic. The scientists had to wipe mewtwos memory, also erasing the daughters memory. This led to mewtwo longing for a sense of identity and purpose. The daughter love for pokemon made mewtwo want to be a pokemon protector or messiah. When we hear mewtwos female voice, its the same mewtwo. Its just the daughter getting temporary control. Almost as if mewtwo is remembering who SHE is.
If you like this theory, feel free to use it. I would love for it to catch on. Then all my friends wint think im crazy lol.
I like this theory. It would make a good idea for a potential Pokemon Fire Red: Rocket Edition anime adaptation.
Uhh well if you play master it js refremce that it is the same Giovanni in both ultra sun and moon and master you have to read the dialouge in the story to see all the lore for this
if A Pokémon Legends: Johto Or Even Pokémon Let’s Go Johto in 2024, i Wanted giovanni To Return in An Alternate Universe Of Johto Where giovanni Was Never Defeated & Team Rocket Was Never Disbanded. And Johto is The Region That We Haven’t Revisited The Longest. So Revisiting Johto in 3D Graphics. But Kanto is Still Accessible in The Postgame After Beating The Main Story.
Isn't Pokémon Masters the result of Hoopa?
No…
Hoopa just brought the trainers there.
Only Pokémon, they’re more powerful than Mewtwo are the creation trio and arceus because they’re literally gods
Using that Stadium spelling for the title I see.
I think the original director of the company did try and just got booted out maby by a bord of even the government as I doubt they would let it stop possibly for good reason as an emergency tool in the case of a pokemon going completely out of control even normal ones let alone legendary ones probably why prof's get master balls as they are deemed trust worthy and it would not be hard for someone to leak them to crooks hence them only getting one that we know of easy to cover up one lost item rather than lots although the lottery part always buged me maby trying to gather transdimensional data via the I'd system I don't know
I love Giovanni :)
I wish the Pokémon villains were real I’d treat them so well
I named myself after Cyrus too
Who could that be 🤔🤔🤔
Ghetsis is worse.
Isn't it implied or stated that Ghetsis is manipulating Giovanni to go to much more extreme measures than normal as part of his plan for control?
Understatement of the century.
I love Ghetsis :)
I doubt Pokémon being caught is a choice. I mean it can be, but most of the time it's the trainer's choice to catch a Pokémon, not the Pokémon's. And either way, Pokémon are still turned docile by Poké Balls, which is bad.
And as you said yourself, Poké Balls are powered by Pokémon Life Force, which is horrible and awful. So Poké Balls are horrible in every way.
This is a video I'm wokring on atm actually
@@BirdKeeperToby Oh really, that's really cool ^^
Im sorry that you are leaving youtube
Cool theory, just wish there was something more cement to tie it down though… maybe in the upcoming dlc we’ll get something
