@@19rode75 you're completely 100% wrong! As Whitney Houston set herself, she never sings the song the same way twice... On purpose! And glennis Grace does everything she can sound like Whitney Houston on a recording...! The Brilliance of Whitney Houston was her live performances and her mellifluous use of melisma to convey emotion via lyric or Melody. Glennis Grace does not have that whatsoever

Although I will admit, there are parts of Whitney's voice that cannot be replicated...which is why I said ALMOST exactly the same. Dont forget glennis is not a native English speaking person, but still gets (for me and many others at least) so close to sounding like Whitney, so she deserves credit for that surely

@@19rode75 you said almost, and then you put exactly in caps... It's either almost, or it's exactly. But it can't be both. And even if it were... She doesn't sound even almost like Whitney Houston when singing songs...! She sounds like a recording, and she doesn't even have the same vocal control as Whitney did of her voice... And therefore it does not achieve what Whitney Houston could get you vocally at any point in her career. And as far as people listening and confusing her with Whitney's voice, many people ability to listen is shit. people listen to some of the worst singers on the internet and say they sound amazing...🤷🏾‍♂️ What I'm saying are FACTS, it's not up for debate.

Whitney is the bomb, baby, a class act. Beautiful, talented , beyond words. She will live forever, to her true, fans. No negativity, in comments. She gave ALL her life , pretty much to her public. Toward the end they talked abt, her turn coats. After all she did, she did not leave, this world as said. Folks were paid to say certain things. May she RIP tho. God knows, what , REALLY happened to you. A talk show host mentioned, her dying because of drugs. That's not how she died. Bobby even said when lady, mentioned hter death, he said thats , NOT how she died. Pat Houston was wearng one of her coats, that wasn't given to her. Lot of people turned on her. If you want to know how she really, left here. Look at Leolah Brown, her husband Bobby sister. Tells it ALL. God is watching tho, always.

There are live musical performances and then there is Whitney. She is in a class of her own. And this performance is Exhibit A. Simply amazing!

The more I watch Whitney, the more I realise that she was far more than just "the voice". Her voice was the most oustanding element but I can tell there was a lot more in the making of Whitney. Her stage presence is well noted but it's her interaction with her band that deserves a lot of respect. She signalled her band to follow each and every transition of her songs seamlessly.

Doesn't she just command her band? The way she says bring it down with a motion, slow the rhythm or just stop. She does this all while still being the most incredible singer in our lifetimes; and her legacy is living on thru her catalog of timeless music..🙂💜💜💜

Not a single artist in todays music climate came close to this talent. Not Beyoncé not Taylor Swift, not a single one. Whitney was a once in a lifetime and I’m so glad I lived in that lifetime to be in awe. She for me is The Greatest vocalist of all time!!!

I came here after reading a 2016 article that referenced this performance. The writer pointed out how seamlessly Whitney Houston directs the musicians in this medley. The true beauty is that most wouldn't notice, but that's the MAGIC of Whitney Houston. Her voice was so beautiful and overwhelming that we didn't see the true depths of her talent. She was so much more than "The Voice" she knew her craft inside and out and could weave beauty into any song with her unique arrangements. It was this God given instinctual talent and knowledge that allowed her voice to soar.
00:17 She gives a head nod for the band to start.
00:25 She turns to face the band to alert for transition
1:45 She drops her arms to let the band know to proceed to next song
2:03 She leads the band into the transition of "How Will I Know"
4:56 She gently gestures with her left hand to let the band know to quiet down.
I could go on and on. Whitney should get the same respect that Mariah Carey or Prince get for their talents. No, she didn't write her songs or play any instruments, but what she was able to do was no less powerful. She wasn't just a singer.

Growing up in the 80’s, Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson were arguably at their prime. They were both amazing and I loved them both. I compare all modern singers to these standards, and the trouble is there’s not really any competition! Besides, I knew who was really famous growing up, because my Nan had heard of them! lol
