Vengerov teaching Bach Solo partita for solo violin is a study in phrasing, in sense of style, a study of musical architecture and loads of technical challenges. Vengerov needs not much further presentation being probably one of todays most celebrated violin soloists and musical artists. Born in Armenia he rose to fame at a young age.

03:20 A most incredible teaching point IMO. He floods that top note with light. We can all play it like 03:31 i.e. dull.
That floodlit sound is something I first loved about the violin playing baroque music.
I think that as well as using slight left hand vibrato, he pushes slight sharp correlated with the speed of the bow, giving that impression of light.

you see a little part of the lesson and you are judging already ? :) I think he is very good in explaining...this could be a start and many more lessons where she is using what she learned.
You are certainly free to open your own masterclass :)

@@johny5400 Almost 5 minutes is enough to make this comment, yes. For some students, that can be beneficial. Not for the ones who already have a lot of musicality and/or personality of their own. Your remark of opening my own masterclass is totally beside the point.

Wow, 5 min of promotional video and you have so many answers, what the girl wanted, how it went, how many hours she spent, how many classes she visited, their plan, focus. You should really open own masterclass, doesnt need to be violin, you can train observation and shit talk. Did you speak to the girl, how it went, was she disappointed? Did she finished the whole thing and did not learn nothing? What is the logic behind this certain class? I hope you have purchased the full class of course. I also hope that you play violin so you understand all the different mechanics and technics.

@@ЛюблюСебя-ч8т that is how it is. Many classes are a lot about teacher playing and talking..you are absorbing...trying, he correct you, tells you what to do better, than you train 60 hrs and get back to the class.

Mr Vengerov can certainly play Bach. And anything he does is worth a listen. But this is not a "Masterclass". This is Mr Vengerov displaying his ego for all to see, and not really listening to this student at all. Sometimes in a "Masterclass" what is being "learned" is how to let the "Master" talk without interupting. Any learning is between the lines. Once Maxim started talking about ironing, it was just him. She was just an ornament.

this is a 5 out of 55 min material, obviously chosen for the amount of Vengerov playing and talking to interest people, you might wanna watch the whole material before criticizing him for his teaching abilities
