Thanks guys! It really helped me switching from ARGB button control (pre-installed on my cabinet) to motherboard controlled method. I was so confused with daisy chain, connector types, argb vs rgb, etc. Now I understood everything in a single video!
So for the ARGB, do I just download the software instead of plugging the extra cables except the 4-1 pin ARGB connector? I recently bought a fan splitter and I connected it to the 4-1 pin ARGB connector and it works, but my LEDs aren’t on. I have a ASEUS motherboard so do I have to download a software for AESUS? If you're using an RGB hub to plug your fans into, and then the RGB hub plugs into a single ARGB header on the motherboard. Can the motherboard control each fan RGB individually? Or are they all controlled by one signal?

Hey guys, i just got a Thermaltake Divider 370 case which comes with 3 pre installed fans and a controller hub, the hub needs to be connected to a PSU SATA connector, to a fan header and there is a signal bridge cable that needs to be connected to an addressable led header, right? But i dont know in which add header should i connect. I have an Asus Prime A Z790 MB and it has 3 addressable 5v headers and one that its 12v and the manual says its the Aura RGB addressable header, so if i want to control the fan lights via armory/aura software and to sync, i need to use that 12v rgb header or i can use any of them? Thanks!
does my msi x470 gaming plus max support argb? the PC builders I took my build to says it doesn't but my motherboard box has clearly msi light sync sticker on it. plus to my knowledge it is a high-end motherboard so it doesn't make sense for it to not have it
I've got the plus series and as soon as I plugged them in both controllers burnt out and not working other then the fans them self no rgb ive emailed support with no reply

Where on earth do we find dedicated (a)RGB cables specifically for our motherboard's (a)RGB header? My mobo's manual says nothing about the RGB or aRGB headers being 5 or 12 volts either... :'((
I have the argb fans and my motherboard doesn’t have a 3 pin header so I plugged it in to a hub. The fans are spinning but they aren’t lighting up. Any suggestions? Thanks!
can anyone help me please, i have the quad ring fans, running four controllers, but when i power everything up only one of the controllers shows up on the tt software, not the other three. have all the dpi switches correctly for the controllers still nothing any clues
I don’t know how to get both of mine to work. I only have one rgb header and I can’t daisy chain them because the other one doesn’t fit in the other one (the backlight rgb has a different connector and can’t daisy chain with the fan one because it doesn’t fit.) I can only get one of them to work because of this.
No shit I just fired up my PC and its all rainbows and glowing. This is the first time ive pc built a PC myself. I honestly wasn't sure if it was going to work or catch fire! It works though. You video really helped me understand what I needed to plug where for the fans and lights! Thanks for that!
Despite my computer culture, I still don't have much experience with RGB. I have had two 200mm Aerocool DUO20 fans for at least 2 years. Thanks to you I gave them colour for the first time via the 'Addressable Gen2' connectors on my Asus ROG MAXIMUS Z690 FORMULA which I had never connected 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hi, i have the smart rgb pro psu and thinking of changing the cables…however only corsair sells the cable kit, thermltake doesnt supply the 24 pin cable in my region…question what ‘type’ (3 or 4)is the 24 pin cable and is it possible to use corsairs ‘s cables on my psu? Sorry off topic from argb fans and total nooby questions. Pls help thx
Demystified the process for me a little bit. Trying to do a 10 fan argb setup (360 aio side or front intake, 3 bottom intake, 1 rear exhaust and the 3 top exhaust) and I wasn't sure which headers to use. If my argb comes with a fan controller would I only need the 1 controller into the 5v rgb header on the mobo for the 7 daisy chained 120 fans and then the 360 aio into the aio header on the mobo to sync all the rgb with software? Or would I need to use 2 controllers with 4 fans in one controller that bridges into the 2nd controller with 3 fans, that runs into the 5v header on the mobo? I'll probably be using the asus tuf z690 and from what I gathered it has 4 regular fan headers, 2 rgb headers, the 2 cpu fan headers and an aio header. Would the controller(s) occupy 1 rgb header and the aio the 2nd rgb header?
i have a new pc that i want for movies, how do i turn all thes led fans off! i hate the lights. can i stop the lights without stopping the fans from functioning ?'
I'm having a problem and could use some help: I have 3 Riing 14cm fans. I did the controller just how you showed. All 3 fans are plugged into the controller. The controller is also plugged into the PSU correctly as well as to the motherboard. When I power on my PC the fans are spinning and basically rainbow colored. Here's the problem: When I try to use any TT software (Such as TT RGB Plus) it always tells me "Cannot detect controller, please check that the fan controller is connected." Please help me know how to fix this, as I would like to be able to control the color of the fans. Thanks!
I fixed mine right after I replied. The reset switch coming from the case was plugged into the motherboard but it should've instead been plugged into the RGB switch board. Hope this helps
nice explanation. thank you. Just one question, in case you connect ARGB fans together (asi you did) you cannot control them separately. All lights the same way. Is it correct? thank you.
Can you maybe daisy chain, let's say, 3 case fan's ARG LEDs with liquid cooler's ARGB fan's plus the leds on the pump itself and then connect all of them to the motherboard ARGB pin? To sync all up nicely? Or perhaps daisy chain them to a controller, two cable into the controller, which then goes onto the ARGB header of the motherboard?
Yes you can! You just need all of the products to be ARGB ones. So as an example, you can connect 3 Pure Plus aRGB fans and TH240 AIO CpU cooler water block all to your motherboard and control it via motherboard software. 🤙
@@ThermaltakeAustralia In your example the AIO and the 3 Pure Plus would be daisy chained into one ARGB cable? Cause my plan is a bit complicated sadly. My AIO and the 3 case fans I bought are not from the same brand. Both of them came with their own controller/hub but they don't need to be used, I could just daisy chain their ARGB cables into one and then connect it to the motherboard. Both of them 3-3 fans, so 3 on AIO and 3 in case plus 1 ARGB line on the pump. However since I want them to be synced through Aura Sync I need them to be on one ARGB cable so at least one controller/hub I need to use probably, I can't directly chain them together into one. Also perhaps 6 ARGB fans on one connector would be almost too much to power up by one pin? So I defintelly need to use one of the controller/hub, since they both are SATA powered. Sadly the case fan's cable is like 1 mm wider than the AIO's hub, so they won't fit in there. But the case fan's hub can be easily connected with the AIO's main ARGB cable, which is also daisy chained. So my plan here is to daisy chain the AIO's RGBs, as it supposed to be, and connect it to the case fan's hub with one ARGB cable, then daisy chain the case fan's ARGB cables into one and connect them to the same hub. Then one main ARGB cable comes from the hub and goes into my motherboard. What I'm afraid of is perhaps, even if they are controlled by the motherboard software, since they are different brand I'm afraid that they won't be synced perfectly, or am I wrong and it'll be just perfect?
PLEASE HELP!! I Built a pc using your guides, I'm using an intel 12700k with no gpu Im only using uhd 770. I have an rgb hub with 6 rgb headers, I have 7 fans in total plus 2 argb lighting strips. I daisy chained my 3 aio fans argb connectors together plus the aio head's argb and the exhaust fan's argb having a total of 5 argb connectors daisy chained together. Now, I hooked up the daisy chained connectors on my rgb hub, I have only 2 connected rgb connectors in my rgb hub, 1 led strip and the daisy chained connectors. NOW THE PROBLEM is whenever I boot my pc the display looks messed up, it has this weird pixelated glitch. Isn't that the 5 rgb connectors daisy chained together may have caused this problem?

Sorry off topic from argb fans and total nooby questions. Pls help thx
Very informative video. Thanks dude
You're most welcome!
One of the rgb lights on my fans is not working, what should i do
What is the case back there? So nice!!!
So I can use my argb fans in my pc without needing to use my motherboard correct?
What dose the B450M-A II AMD support, argb or rgb because i cant seem to find either
What is going on with the screen bumps on each edit?
do you know how to control the rgb fans from the motherboard while all fans is connected to a fan hub controller? I have the antec primz X rgb fans
Thanks!
same situation
@@cloudvi4044 I'm at my wits end, I can't seem to find any help anywhere to figure out this problem!
I fixed mine right after I replied. The reset switch coming from the case was plugged into the motherboard but it should've instead been plugged into the RGB switch board. Hope this helps
@@cloudvi4044 Hrm, I'll have to see what mine is plugged into. Thank you so much!
@@revanmercury no problem
Thank you, much help,, have to point out the phrase you used “ mad dogs” love it so Aussie.
What if the fans also come with molex cable
nice explanation. thank you. Just one question, in case you connect ARGB fans together (asi you did) you cannot control them separately. All lights the same way. Is it correct? thank you.
Hey Peter, that's correct, if they are connected together into the same Header on the motherboard, then they will all change together.
Hi great video , Novice builder here can you daisy chain the power supply on the " Thermalright TL-C12CW-S X3 CPU Fans ? Thanks
