I gotta say like always, you're videos are so helpful! I finally got my Nissan J11 on friday and already 3 days later I got issues with the battery. The car is 3/4 years old and still with original battery (driven 66000 km) I got this crazy flickering today and the battery is now getting charged over the night. Will probably contact the dealership I got it from to get the battery changed.
Do you think that will solve the problem? I've been hearing a lot that there might be a secret fuse that drains these model a lot but maybe that's step to investigate if I still have issues after changing the battery

Thank you mate! 😄 happy to hear that you finally have your QQ, congrats. I’m so sorry to hear that you already experience this problem but I think it is rather a good sign that the car still had it’s original battery. It was taken care of and as it happend this soon you should be able to arrange something with the seller 😉 with a complete new good quality battery you will be at ease. I do not think that there is a « secret fuse » that drains and with a good battery you can be sure to have a reliable car 👍🏻

Tnx for the great info! Did the new battery keep it's charge? I've read that on Qashqai's there might be something draining the battery fast(er) even with the engine/car turned off. Interested in hearing your experiences after replacing the battery. Did you need to do any reset/recalibration in the engine management system after the battery replacement?

Hi Olaf! No it didn't. I simply bought the new battery on my way back home in some French well known carshop, installed it on the parking lot with a tools they lend me and I was good to go. I never had to take the car in for a reset or something like that and I never experienced any troubles since. On my new QQ I don't have any problem on the battery neither. I don't think the car is draining the battery, it was well known that the first J11a (2014-2016) were equipped with a very low quality battery. They even swapped some on warranty. ;)

I need to change the battery and happy to do it myself. Did you need to use a memory saver? will the radio and everything else work as normal?

Hi! No, i just swapped them. The dealer does a system reset when they change the battery but this isn’t mandatory. I do not remember exactly but I think I didn’t lost any settings at all. I changed the battery on a parking lot on my drive back home when I was on a holiday trip and I do recall we drove off just like that after the swap without any problems 😉

HELLO I know that you have changed your battery and my question is if you had to do something before changing it. I think I read that you had to wait some time with the car off.
Do I have to do something before changing it or wait for time once it has been changed? Thanks

Hola! No just remove the old one and put the new one in. That’s all! I had to do it on the parking lot in front of the car store while being on holiday 😉 officially the Nissan dealer has to do some reset on the board computer but that isn’t really mandatory you know. Keep me posted and stay safe. 👍🏻

The problem with a the Nissan Qashqai is it always on draining the car battery, by one volt And as It is always on stand by And if you don't use you car ever few days standby always on will eventually wreck the cars battery.

If you don’t plan to use your car for a longer period of time you always could remove the main fuse; the big white one in the middle of the fuse panel on the left hand side of the dashboard. However I agree with you that it is a design flaw. 😉

    Salut amigo
