When these were first aired they were probably derided by critics for being simplistic or typical daytime fare. Just goes to show doesn't it? Scroll on nearly 50 years, there's precious little on any network that's anywhere near as enjoyable as these shows. Simple doesn't have to mean inferior. Just funny, warm, normally-adjusted people having a fun time without any of the totally f***ing insane moralising that every aspect of our lives is subjected to nowadays. Enjoy.
