I'm André. My main channel is actually in Portuguese, called Barba Tradicional. But since I do create some content in English sometimes I decided to upload that also here.
Many people have sensitive skin and/or suffer from ingrown hairs, irritation or have difficulty shaving difficult areas. Since 2017 I have retired the multi-blade cartridge and electric shavers, switching to traditional shaving. The results are astounding! Of course, it requires learning some tricks and tricks, after all it's easier to cut yourself (it's more efficient!). But it's worth a try! Here I help answer some questions and how to have a barbershop-worthy shave: How to shave? How to avoid irritation and ingrown hair? What is the best shaver? How to shave with a razor? How to choose the shaver? What care and attention when shaving?

I've used a shim in my 61' Fat Boy for quite a while. I find that it clamps the blade a lot more efficiently which makes the razor much more comfortable and effective. With the shim, it clamps the full width of the blade which seems to stop it from chattering. It was Dad's and passed down to me and I had it sent to Razor Emporium for a tune up and rhodium finish. Exceptional job from Mat and his group. Been using a shim in it since I got it back and I find that I can use any blade and it works well. Whole different razor. Much more enjoyable. Great video. First time that I've seen someone do a comparison between a shimmed and non shimmed razor. Great work!

Dad was a trained barber from the old country so he taught me how to straight razor shave when I was young so I always look for the most efficient exposer with any razor and adjust my method to head towards a BBS 2 pass shave without any irritation or cuts. What others find aggressive, I find it efficient. Mild razors take too many passes or blade buffing to get the job done. If I shave every day with a SR I can BBS in one pass and that's what I look for in a DE also. Keep up the great videos! look forward to your next one.
