- On September 6, 2002, Elliott Randall, with the help of his pal Darrell Nutt (Me) performed at Neptune's in Fort Myers, FL. The two hour show featured AC/DC bassist Cliff Williams, Paul Fleisher (Lou Reed), and area professional musicians Danny Shepard, Steve McDougall and Kelly Fagan-Eakins. The audience was ecstatic and asked for two encores that evening. This is "Sign In Stranger" by Steely Dan which Elliott played guitar on the original recording.

My guitar buddies are in agreement that the Reeling in the years guitar solo is one of the holy grails of rock guitar performances. I still remember where I was the first time I heard it. Memorizing ! Elliott is THE MAN!
I just love Elliot Randall. Such a joyful guy.He's like a super happy teanager that has just been found a Stratocaster at the end of his bed, when I woke up earlier in the day..Maybe he did?,if he plays in London UK I would go see him.

Anyone who knows music knows Elliot is far from underrated. His solo in Reeling In The Years is Jimmy Page’s favorite
guitar solo. Is that enough? Elliot is just an amazing player. Not only that, he is one of the nicest people ever.

@@larrypower8659 Hi Larry, of course you are right, but I have to admit, that I never recognized Elliott's phantastic musicianship until a couple of days ago, when I stepped over another song from this concert thanks to RUclips algorythm. I knew Larry Carlton (whom I heard live about six times), Denny Dias, Jeff "Skunk" Baxter, Jay Graydon or Steve Khan, but Elliott Randall? Okay I read his name in the credits, but I was not aware, what he really was doing.
Shame on me! Who am I, compared to Jimmy Page? 🙃

And I have to come back to your drumming, because the original was played by one of the masters (Bernard Purdie), but you nailed it! 👍👌

Great stuff, sad about the uninspired vocals though. No one wants to hear an imitation, but those lyrics need some of Fagen's sneer and snarl.
