This might be the best pipe band recording on the internet. Audible rain patter during the slow Ayre, thunder right on the reel change. Just an amazing soundscape. Thank you very much. Shotts and Dykehead for your endurance and maintaining a professional sound that is second to none through those conditions. Once in a lifetime recording! Just amazing!
Adversity sharpens concentration.
@@violadamore2-bu2ch Your right. Also Tribulation brings patience.
An astounding performance under nightmare conditions . Just goes to show how great a character that Shotts have , no letting their standard down despite a monsoon . Looking forward to hearing this band on a normal day .
A good call from the ensemble judge .
What an opening tune, an immediate foot tapper
Jimmy's Gift - Murray Blair
When I moved to Shotts my brother from Belfast, Shotts has the most amazing pipe band, they’re famous and oh my, I’m proud to live in Shotts
Well done guys beautiful sound in those conditions
How?!? Oh my God, these pipers and drummers are clearly masters. It's one thing to perform this well in ideal conditions, and something else entirely to perform this beautifully while being drenched in rain, probably scared to death that your drones/drum is about to become a lightning rod! Well done, Shotts & Dykehead! I salute you all! 😱🥳🤯💕
Great performance. Excellent sound in the recording too - thanks for posting the best piping content on RUclips.
PERFECT SOUND HARMONY RYTHM!!
RESPECT TO YOU ALL & SCOTT PIPERS!!🥰👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🙏🕊💐🇬🇷
😂😂😂that's funny. Emmett CONWAY is from NORTHERN IRELAND. Last pipe Major before Emmett was Ryan Canning was from NORTHERN IRELAND. He lead as Pipe Major to the to 16th World Championship Title. McAllister and DUTHART was From n i

Great performance. Tricky conditions, but played strongly throughout
Tremendous achievement well done each and everyone in Shotts.
Lovely stuff in trying conditions
Outstanding!
What a fine performance and post!
Good Grief... Has the RSPBA ever thought of having an ''Endurance Award'' ???
I thought they could have carried on a bit
Amazing
That was a superb performance.
S&D never sounded stronger! AMAZING BURLS even the rain didn't stop them
Bravo S & D!
Love these recordings. What make/model of camera, lens, and mic are being used? First class stuff!
Just music as it is. No gimic cut outs etc.
Good music played well 👍
No *gimmick.... what about the thunder clap going into the 2nd last tune!!! Over the top I thought
There was a bolt of lightning as well, just not shown in the recording
Hi amack
Poor sods!! Worst of conditions but you'd never know from the performance!! You can even hear the rain on the mic!!!!
Proof that a trailing drone doesn’t loose you the competition! What an amazing sound!
a fine scottish day! this is how bagpipes are supposed to be played.
What does RSPBA stand for?
Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association.
Bill Méhat best drummer!
Attack LA at 481.7 Hz
Cant quite see the logic of not wearing capes an protecting the performers an instruments for later on...
I followed the band from final tuning to the arena and there was not a chance the band had time to get their capes. The storm started on their approach to the line. Also, most bands choose not to wear capes when competing as it could waver the sound or make slippage worse.
The reason for not wearing capes is because if your hand gets caught in the flaps of the cape when you are striking in it can be disastrous
Météo de merde .🫠
I sure hope this video isn't making a big deal of a competition with only one entrant.... The playing is certainly beautiful, though.
There were five bands entered. All were Grade One bands, and including the current World Champions.
