ACS Gas Training - BS5440 Part 1 Chimney / Flues / Plumber

Gas Plumber Training. Chimney and Flues.
Looking at Chimneys and Chimney pots on a roof.
Gas fire has been fitted to a flue but its not allowed. Always check your chimneys.
Flue flow and spillage test.
If the flue needs sweeping get it swept.
Flue that are suitable and flues that are not. Chimney pots not suitable for gas fires.
Make sure you always check the full length of the flue. New pots would be better but know is going to pay for it.

Good video, open flues are not seen as often as room sealed, but attention MUST be paid to them, they are the most dangerous if not correct. Great learning video👍🏻

I wonder if the roofer who blocked all those chimneys was charged for leaving all those fires in an immediately dangerous situation under the Gas Safety (Installation and use) regs?

BS 5440-1:2008, Annex C, page 86, "all operational terminals or chimney pots shall terminate at the same height and at above the height of any non operational terminal or chimney pot." How is that new chimney pot at the same height and at above the height of those other chimneys?

Can you please explain why you can not have Wight on show on a boiler flu. I had a ideal boiler fitted 4 years ago it's service every year thanks

Saffron Woodhouse If you have a look at the installation instructions it shows that it must have the rubber seal. Give ideal a call and ask them if need be.
