My local distributor advertised the Beast as being a better smelling wheel cleaner than the Sonax Xtream Wheel Cleaner. I remember the first time I used the Beast and thought to myself this thing smells like vomit. The smell stuck with me too!
Sounds like the distributor hadn't actually used it and probably just repeated something a Sonax sales person said. Either that or he/she has a terrible sense of smell! haha.
Stinky stuff. That's why I watch your videos! No pulling any punches! I've used the regular sonax for years. I wasn't aware a new product had been released. Thanks!
I have always been hit or miss with Sonax products but this one is a hit to me. Yes it stinks but it's supposed to. The best iron removers are also the ones that stink the most. I've tried cheaper ones and they don't smell as bad but they also don't work as well. You also don't need to use a ton of this per wheel. Maybe 4-5 sprays per wheel and you're good.
Great comparison! One thing I wanted to ask about though as it wasn't mentioned in the video. Do you know if the two wheels you used for the test were both front or both rear wheels? Typically the front wheels get a lot more brake dust, so if by random chance the Plus got a rear wheel and the Beast got a front wheel, it may have skewed the results to favor the Plus cleaner. Maybe as a follow up video you can do two front wheels one for each cleaner, and then also use a single rear wheel with masking tape to do a split comparison! Thanks for the great content and info!
Need to understand the chemistry relative to PH levels. Do this via published SDS, (safety data sheets). you'll see the beast product is acidic, not alkaline.
"Sonax Full Effect" smells like death... I catch whiffs of it in other wheel cleaners, I think any cleaner that changes color with brake dust has this odor, maybe I'm wrong.
I don't remember Full Effect smelling that bad when I tried it like 4yrs ago. The Beast still gives off an odor even after rinsing off... I still noticed it when I was close to my wheels days after using it (on my other car).
Thanks for posting this comparison, and a great tip with the gloves! Good to know, I ordered myself the beast.

Bought Sonax Beast based on your review. Wore gloves, it is stinky but damn its def powerful and better than anything else I had ever used.
Glad it's working for you, and you didn't find out about the odor the hard way!
1:14 It stinks because it's also an iron remover. But to be honest: a lot of iron removers stink even more.

For this test I did one front and one rear wheel for each cleaner for exactly the reasons you mentioned!
@@FaRKle0079 Awesome! Thanks for the clarification! I'll be getting the Plus based on your cleaning comparison. Also stink-free is an added bonus lol
That poor lawn
Sonax “beast” 🥴😉
