JTT won the Notre Dame game for us last year. Not Kyle McCord. He hasn’t been dominant as far as sacks go but neither has Jack Sawyer. This season is gonna be crazy for both of them coming back this year.

JT and Sawyer are both super talented. And yes, they have not produced and I think a big part of it has been the staff and Knowles's changes.
Do we really need another 5 star WR compared to getting David (Davis) Sanders as a big-time must-have OL. I don’t expect Day, Pantoni, Frye, or Kelly to be perfect, but I didn’t think in a gozillion years we would “pass” on the kicker from Miami of Ohio who won the Lou Groza Award. Let us keep our eye on the big picture and keep the main thing the main thing. Focus people! Balance and prioritize. C’mon and make the best decision not just a good or very good one!
If we loose on a kick then Ryan Day will regret it big time. He absolutely should have been a Buckeye.
It's not an either or regarding Moore and Sanders. The coaches want both. I agree on the kicker, but do we know what he wanted to come to OSU? Maybe a price too high for a kicker.
Jayden Fielding will be just fine for us ….. he kicks 80% of his kick offs into the end zone and can make field goals from 60 yards ….. every one rags on him for missing the one at TCUNT last year but he made the first attempt right when they called time out ….. he was kicking into the end I was sitting at three rows up off the field on the five yard line and that kick hit over halfway up the netting. Plus he’s got TWO years remaining. That kicker from Miami had a no contact listed on his portal entry so he was Bama bound to begin with.

Gotta disagree with you on the JT take Kurt. JT is more than just a sack guy. He is a Swiss Army knife and Knowles plays him that way. He plays cage team defense sometimes, he drops in coverage sometimes. Hes very athletic and not just a pass rusher. How many ints did clowney or chase get compared to JT??? If JT went to a worse program he would’ve definitely been capable of just being a sack only guy and stat pad his individual numbers. But here at Ohio state Knowles has JT play more team defense and gap fill.

No, 2 years ago JT’s breakout game was against a back up for Penn State playing due to injury. PSU’s great OT dominated over Jack Sawyer 2 years in a row as did ND’s high 1st OT.
According to NFL scouts the weakness in both JTT, JS are their lack of “Hip”, not quick enough just linear speed.

I don’t buy the JTT comparison with Cameron Hayward either.
Hayward played like an All-American DT at Ohio State being both an interior Force and a Sack Producer, especially in Big Games. You always noticed Cam he never disappeared.
Hayward is also about 2 inches taller and 25 pounds heavier.
If JTT has an NFL career like Cam Hayward he should be ecstatic.
So far a better comparable might be Adolphous Washington 5 star DE -> DT from Urban’s 1st Class
If you’re comparing JTT to the Top DL in America he’s been a total bust.
If you’re comparing him to an average recruit he’s been good as he’s started the last 2 years.
This year is put up or shut up time for JTT. If he can’t be a monster sack machine with this year’s monster Secondary, then he never will be.
I think the problem is his lack of hips and sudden change of direction, as well as not playing with a Bosa level of effort. Just good enough but not great. Currently NFL 3rd rounder. The hips issue is permanent unfortunately but guys like Nick Bosa overcame it with great hands, technique and first step. That needs to be JTT’s recipe too. He just ain’t a Leroy Selmon with his hips.
