- All songs are made from chords. Chords give us the collection of pitches we need in order to create melodies, harmonies and the like. Often songs have a lot of chords...but some only have THREE! Here are TEN songs you can play with only THREE chords! SUPER EASY UKULELE SONGS!
**As a note (and I might have not explained it the best in the video) throughout this whole medley you’ll see I used four total chords (C, a, F and G) but each song only uses three of those four chords. So while YES each song uses only THREE chords, in total you see four used throughout the whole medley. ALSO, this is NOT a tutorial! I actually have made tutorials for many of these songs now, so check them out on my channel!**

Hi all! There is a bit of confusion about the chords in this video. Each song used in the medley only has three chords. There are a total of 4 chords used in the medley though. So each song has some combination of 3 of the four total chords. The video is songs that use three chords-not that each song uses the same exact 3 chords in the same order. I have also linked individual full tutorials for many of the songs in the video so check out the description for those links! Thanks all!

I like the idea of having several songs that can be played with 3 or 4 chords. Especially simple chords. It gives me a chance to make music while learning the chords and creating muscle memory. Once i get really good at that, I can start adding new chords or picking somewhere in between. Before you know it, you're playing anything!
riptide is the most recommended beginner ukulele song with 4 chords, while theres these that only have 3 👀

Omg I got a ukulele yesterday and wanted to learn a song so bad but didn’t know what keys to put the strings out, I’m in Choir so I can read notes very well and that wasn’t the problem. Just knowing what the cords were and how to turn the instrument! This helped so much thank you!

I too play the guitar, not very well, I don't think it helps that I've tried to learn from right handed books that make my brain itch.
Gosh you’re great! I had gotten my son a ukulele for the holidays 😉and always had the intentions of learning how to play myself. These few cords are perfect. I can make up my own songs, the ukulele is so forgiving.

I just want to say thank you for this video cause I'm slow when its comes to learning different things, So I had been struggling to learn the ukelele but this really help me slot and I'm little bit faster when changing to the different cords. I am left-handed, so I have to mirror everything in my head what makes learning even harder. And also the little wheel of the forth string is kinda broken so that needs to get repaired..

Thank-you for this awesome tutorial! I play guitar but am new to ukulele. Some of these songs are simple enough for my students and are more engaging than traditional beginner songs. As a bonus, I love learning these songs too!

Just a QUICK AND USEFUL tip for you beginners out there:
Play ALL the new chords and progressions REALLY REAAAAAALLYYYY slowly at the begining, then speed it up (you can use also video speed to like 0,25x, 0,75x, whatever)
P.S. - Super useful, makes your brain know what to do and your fingers will stop "crazy wobbling" when changing chords 😉)

Fantastic video. Dusted my ol' ukulele off that I've had for years and started looking around as I never played it "well" the first time (outside concerns) but am ready to tackle it again. I loaded a ukulele tuner on my phone that works great and even has a few charts as a reminder for finger positions on some of the chords. I had an extensive music background throughout school, played multiple instruments, music theory classes, etc. I had always wanted to learn guitar, so I took a course in college (made a B, though I think the instructor was much to generous). It felt as though I was monkey-cuddling the guitar the entire time. A 3/4 guitar was way better than a full-sized guitar; many guys don't like to admit it, but my fingers are small. Small and strong. I learned to play guitar and found out that I didn't like it to much. I love music though, so I started learning ukulele, and that's just so much fun! In time, I wanna learn to play a short scale bass! Thank you again! Best advice I give folks new to this is 1- trim your nails. Seriously, trim them. Nails get in the way. And 2- don't overthink it. The beauty of music is that people are always finding new and interesting ways to make it their own. Eddie Van Halen, for example, created the whole tapping method. Amazing guitarist! Incredibly small hands! And THE best guitarist I've ever seen!
