This is the season where a new era began! Kobe 24 a.k.a. Kobe as a great leader! The season was still with a weaker supporting cast compared to 2008,09 and 10, but Kobe began to involve his teammates more and still managed to be scoring champion again. Especially March 2007 was hell of a performance where he had 4 Games with at least 50 Points including his second greatest scoring performance against the Blazers with 65 points. Best version of Kobe imo. Great stats all around. This gets overlooked by 06 & his mvp year in 08 but I think he was just as good as those two years. All three being his peak of his prime for sure.

Maybe I'm being harsh but it seems like the Kobe-era was the last time the Lakers met the standard of excellence. LeBron's all time great and a healthy AD's really good but to me it's just not the same. It's a shame that the injuries robbed Kobe of his athleticism. RIP Kobe.
Yeah 2008-2010 when they were going to championships but these seasons as far as record were trash and Kobe was trying to get traded

This season is slightly overlooked because ´of his historic 06 campaign but he was just as good here. All the 50 bombs and then crazy shots as usual he had jesus chist! One of a kind.

imo, this was more dominant than 07 cause in 06 they first changed the rules with hand-checking completely so refs were a lot more liberal with the whistles since the rules were not to clear with what the changes meant...but in 07 since both defenders and refs had a better understanding (after wade got shadow fouled to a championship), defense was a bit tighter so what he did was more impressive.
to me this is the best kobe year, the kind of shots he was making at the rate he was was just ridiculous. he made our shit team primetime, must watch TV.

For some reason, this is one of his forgotten great seasons despite being one of his best individually.
Probably because it ended in a really disappointing playoff defeat.
The 2007 season started greated for LAL with 26-13 then went downhill losing in the first round and the frustration of KB24 want to be traded. It was a turning point that resulted in a trade to Pau, the return of Fisher and 3 Finals 2 rings for Kobe and my beloved Lakers woohooo!
People forget that the lakers started off great, but Lamar Odom ended up missing 26 games that season too.

I think its unfair to just compare Kobe to MJ. I believe both he and Jordan solidified the position, and the playing style. Kobe in my opinion is the evolution of MJ but I wouldn't dare say that they play exactly the same. I think Kobe added a lot to the style of play. I dont think he's a clone of Jordon.

I got kobe right behind Jordan in that all time list I don’t care about pretty stats he got the job done and was reliable when it mattered. He stepped up when Shaq would foul out and was injured at a very young age. Allot of people have to grow into being a killer he was naturally like that. Been thinking about that as well, 2005-2007 Kobe years he couldn’t make it out of the first round. Shows that it takes more than 1 all time player to win. Gasol helped tremendously share the load. That’s why I can only wonder what my favorite player, VC, could’ve done if he played with another all star. First 10 year peak he NEVER played with someone else who demanded a double team. The best scorer he played with in his first 11 seasons was Devin Harris. 😞 if only tmac stayed.
