For anyone trying to remove the third row seats where the electric mechanism is not working and the seat is stuck in the DOWN position it is possible to do. I'm not sure if this is the recommended or best way but this is how I managed it. As per the video there are four bolts fixing the seat to the floor. (please note I may have steps/bolts 2 and 3 the wrong way around as it was a few months back, but it should become obvious if I have.).-
Before you start lift the other seat into the raised (usable) position. (If this is also stuck I'm not sure what to do).
Step 1 remove rear bolt nearest the centreline of the car.
Step 2 Remove the front bolt nearest the centreline of the car. It's difficult to get to but with the other seat raised can be done.
Step 3 Remove the front outside bolt. To do this you will need a helper to pull/lift the front centre of the seat and/or seat back up as much as possible to give you room to access the other bolt.
Step 4 The rear outer side bolt is buried under parts of the frame and mechanism. We tried dismantling various parts but it doesn't help. Also it is covered by fabric and other bits so accessing from the rear with flat spanner was not possible. However with the other three bolts removed the seat will, with some pulling and tugging, move just enough to allow a socket on the end of an extension bar to be knocked down onto the bolt head and then it can be undone.
Using this approach doesn't take that much longer but working it out took lots of trial and error. So I hope this helps someone.

Thankyou for the really useful video. I was wondering did you need to advise insurers and/or DVLA that you removed the rear seats?

Only one problem, what you are removing them because they no longer work and are stuck in the down position? Any tips on how to manually open?

Hi Justindaoud9913 , Did you ever work out how to get the third row seats out if they are stuck in the down position? I'm thinking of removing one seat to give me some "hidden" secure storage but have same issue.
