'Over the top' comments from Barnaby Joyce still had 'substance'

  • Institute of Public Affairs’ Daniel Wild says Barnaby Joyce’s comments were a “bit over the top”, but the “substance” of what he was saying was “spot on”.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has demanded Barnaby Joyce be sacked from the shadow ministry over his ‘bullet’ comments at a rally against wind farms.
“Barnaby’s apologised for his language, which was probably a bit over the top,” Mr Wild told Sky News host Rita Panahi.
“The fundamental thing he’s saying is there’s a lot of communities in regional Australia, that are being steamrolled by the inner-city elites and the energy corporations.
“What Barnaby is saying is you need to organise, get active.
“You have to go and actually communicate your issue on a national scale.
“So, the substance of what he was saying was actually spot on.”

Barnaby may have used a poor metaphor but his message was certainly valid.

What a top analogy to use in true Australian spirit. All the soft bedwetters are going insane over this and I love it. It is a lot tamer than from the River To The Sea Chant from the ALP and Greens Members.

Let’s think about labour’s stance on Barnaby’s comments which is very good advice. Labour won’t sack any of their poor performing ministers, eg- Bowen, Giles and O’Neil, yet they expect the opposition to sack their members.

Maybe a poor choice of words but the message is correct. The only weapon the Australian people have against Labor's incompetence is to vote them along with the Greens and Teals out of Parliament. Goodbye to incompetence.

Probably not the wisest choice of words given recent events and Biden's bulls eye comment. He should at least apologise.

I didn't want to get involved in this trivia again but most of us ( well at least 60% ) were offended when Albanese referred to prospective NO voters to the VOICE "chicken little's. And he DIDN'T APOLOGISE. Barnaby did.
