I thought that would be a closer game but Notre Dame came to play! Was that Tamika Catchings calling the game? I love that they have the legends of women’s basketball making the calls. Her knowledge of the game is next level.
I respect the fact that she openly admitted that, when she arrived at college, she didn't appreciate the necessity of playing good defense (and in all candor didn't "buy in" to that requirement) ... and CONSEQUENTLY she rode the bench until she smartened up !!! That's STILL an important lesson for young players today to hear and learn :)
I've only gotten into women's bb in the half-year or so ago. I was wondering who the analyst was, she called their previous game, but that makes sense that they would keep the same broadcast team in South Bend for a few days. Looked her up on Wikipedia, holy crap. I'll have to go search from some highlights, but from her accomplishments she sounds like she is an undisputed all-time first-teamer.
Who would have thought in mid February that the Fighting Irish would be where they are at currently with such a limited roster due to all of their injuries. They looked like a mid level regular season ACC team earlier in the season with probably no better than a quarter final round in the ACC tournament and no better than advancing to only the round of 32 in the NCAA March Madness tournament. But Niele Ivey figured things out and got her team playing at such a high level with their lack of depth and finished 4th in the ACC in their regular season standings and then went on to win the ACC tournament and now advanced to the Sweet 16 for the March Madness tournament. Niele Ivey should be considered for coach of the year with how the Fighting Irish turned their season around from mid February to currently.
Citron, Hidalgo and Westbeld, next year with Miles, and a buiked-up(? 5-8-12 lbs.) Nat Marshall: next years's pre-season faves, along with S.Carolina Go Irish!!
I think that Coach Ivey did a really good job with all of the injuries that they had and still have. They have come a very long way! They will "NOT" win the Championship this year, but I surely look for them to win it next year! And I have been saying this since the beginning of the season.
First time I really watched Ole Miss all season;a good team that lacked perimeter shooters. They have length and size. Coach Yo needs to find shooters. The Sweet 16 is going to be rockin for the women! The stars are all center stage. 😊
Your ignorance is showing. Her name is Tamika Catchings, one of the best to ever play the game and the award for best Freshman player is named after her. Catchings was born hard of hearing; she wore a hearing aid as a young girl. In 2000, she was honored with the Reynolds Society Achievement Award by the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in Boston. On June 24, 2008, Catchings was awarded the Dawn Staley Community Leadership Award for her work in the Indianapolis community with her Catch the Stars foundation.

@coachhumph5524, I agree with you @coachhumph5524 and thank you for letting that ignoramus know who she is. Also Tamika has a "DISABILITY" but she doesn't let her diable her! Some people like her with a disability won't get a chance to do what she is doing, but I commend her for even trying because most people with aa disability wouldn't even try because they know that people LIKE YOU @cassotv297 would make fun at them and even laugh at them, which is so sickening! @@tko8218 ive seen ole miss play a few times this year it didn't seem like they had same intensity early in this game something seemed off because they have waaay better athletes than Notre Dame
Now how did Notre Dame have home field advantage in Tournament when it had started in Albany SC? Notre Dame appeared enhanced much like South Carolina.

That's in any sports broadcast they have a former player with analysis duh

@chessmentor63 Just inducted into the basketball hall of fame a couple years ago.
Way to go Notre Dame y'all played excellent today.

This tournament for the woman is going to be one of the best tournaments in a long time. It's more superstar women than the men tournament this year.
You're right. The Sweet 16 is going to be dandy. 😊
Both teams got a good workout, but things worked out more for Notre Dame🔥🏀🎉!
Ole Miss, you all put up a good fight❤🙏!
CONGRATULATIONS to Notre Dame and Ole Miss for a great season. Both of you made Women's Basketball so much better!

Hildalgo!!!!!!!! 🔥💯🔥💯🔥
Show the full game
Whew Norte Dame is dangerous. Imagine with Olivia miles. Next year they are going to EAT
I remember when these games weren’t even televised😅
ND💚💛
Hidalgo is a dog in the most positive way possible.
Hidalgo is a dynamite
And she really doesn’t get the media coverage like JuJu Watkins, who’s also a freshman, gets.
At 5'6", you are right. She has shooters and teammates with size around her. The next game will be more difficult.
@@gthigpen6989what are you implying???
Sweet!!
I think Notre dame is the best college
Better than South Carolina or usc?
In due time we will see😮

That's what I thought in NY but instead SC where I thought Ole Miss would possibly play South Carolina not some yoyo format.
Ah so the day off was a travel day that would explain the overall fatigue from the team
Commentator sounds lento 😂😂😂 “water girl”

Not funny, show some respect for Tamika Catchings, she has done a lot for women’s basketball, what have you done?
Gotta wonder if ole miss was trying to lose on purpose my gosh it was like they didn't try
Yes, they agreed to lose on purpose after I placed a huge bet on ND to cover.
Or maybe they just couldn't handle the defense. That makes zero sense why would a team lose on purpose.
@@turtleislandlac1490 i was being sarcastic genius but don't think it. Ain't happen before
South Carolina beat North Carolina by 47 points. Ole Miss only lost by 15 points. It was closer than you'd think.

The top 4 seeds host the first two games, it's been that way for a few decades now.
Is it Albany, NY?
