This movie is such an underrated horror gem. I love the nods to both sci-fi and horror. The director’s next movie ‘The Monster Squad’ is great fun too, if you haven’t seen it already.
Don't think you've covered it but I could be wrong - 'Return of the Living Dead' (1985) is a great b-movie horror/comedy. Sound like the kinda thing you're in the mood for atm.

Easily one of the best horror comedies for not only having great effects, scares, laughs and one-liners, but some genuinely good characters who the audience actually cares about. We can also never praise Tom Atkins enough, the guy's having an absolute blast with his character every second he's on screen

In the theatrical version, the ending was different, with the dog who caused the bus accident returns and approaches Cynthia. As Cynthia bends down toward it, the dog opens its mouth and a slug jumps out toward her. You should watch a very similar movie that was even accused of being a rip off of this one, SLITHER. It stars Nathan Fillion from Firefly.
I'm saying this "before" I see your reaction. This has to be one of my favorite cheesy low budget B movies of the 80's. It is actually rather bad in so many ways, but I still love it for having the nads to try to pull off something that it just didn't have the budget to really do.
Fair points all around. Not great, but still fun. Would definitely make a great pairing with Slither from 2006, hope you guys get around to that one. As for other horror films, I'd suggest Near Dark, Pumpkinhead (one of my favorites), In the Mouth of Madness and/or Prince of Darkness (both great Carpenter flicks), and maybe C.H.U.D. or Mimic for some more schlocky creature feature goodness. Definitely keep going with your Friday the 13th rewatches, Part VI is one of the best in the series, and it just gets nuttier from there.
Yeah, I’m yet another person making the Slither reference. That films director had definitely seen this film. To be fair, it’s basically a modern homage to this kind of film.

Love it!! Saw this on the Sci Fi Channel back in 2006, and I didn't know what I was in for until I saw this movie from start to finish, but it was the Director's Cut with the alternative ending that shows that Det. Cameron burnt to a crisp walking down the street, collapses, his head bursts open where more of the slug monsters make their way to the cemetery and the alien spaceship tries to look for their experiment.
Fun movie, and as always, very entertaining reaction. I'm not sure if you can access it through Prime in the UK but there's a channel called Shudder (or it may be listed under regular offerings on Prime UK) but there are two movies, In Search of Darkness I & II. They're documentaries on some of the best well-known & cult-classic horror films of the 80s. Even if not for the channel, I think you guys may enjoy it just for yourselves. Also, since comments are low, these are just some suggestions I don't normally see people do(or ones I don't see on your guys' channel): Tales from the Darkside: the Movie The Gate Dr. Giggles The Devonsville Terror Troll I & II {Troll 2 won an award for being the worst movie, lol, It's utterly hilarious.} Student Bodies Stay Tuned People Under the Stairs Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight The Phantoms Sleepstalker Prince of Darkness Ghost in the Machine Popcorn ('91) Warlock ('89) Pumpkinhead The Goonies Night Breed The Lost Boys Lord of Illusions Bram Stoker's Dracula
Not sure if anyone else has suggested this movie yet (I am sure they have) but seeing as this movie was about alien slug thingys getting in through the mouth and taking over your body, I recommend “Slither”. A 2006 movie that is horror/sci-fi/comedy. I have always loved it, never thought is was appreciated enough. But I have just started watching your guys commentary/reactions, and mostly for horror and sci-fi movies, but I do love the horrified faces you guys got throughout this movie. 🤣 Bravo to you guys for picking this gem too. 👍
My favorite character is the cop ( Tom Atkinson). I thought this movie was a fun watch. It wasn’t a great movie but enjoyable and a little gross. I think you guys are too critical, so I give you guys a 3 out of 10 for your review!
Great reaction boys. A 10/10 for that, if not the movie. This is a hard one to score. For me, it wouldn't make a 'best of' list in any genre but it's just a fun time. I remember renting this from my local when it came out (several times) and it was such a treat. Total throwback and homage to those cheesy 50s classics like body snatchers and the blob. And I must echo a lot of other comments and recommend Return of the Living Dead. It's one of those movies I wish I could experience again for the first time. I'd say most(?) zombie movies today are influenced by those zombies more than the shuffling ghouls of Romero's films. Thanks again for the Creeps review.
The movie Slither was inspired by this. I really enjoy the quirky movies. The 80s man was awesome. Heard about this movie around the time I was asked to watch Prom Night, Terror Train, Slaughter High, etc
I remember renting this movie on VHS as a kid. Creeped me out back then. Still creeps me out. You guys should check out Slither. You could do a comparison between the 2 films. Slither was the first movie directed by James Gunn. He went on to make Guardians of the Galaxy. Cheers!
I would rate this MUCH higher than you guys did. You guys seemed to have mistaken it for an actual B-movie, when in fact it's a homage to B-movies. That's why literally all the characters are named after horror directors. All of the cheese in this movie is very deliberate and its constantly winking at the audience. I don't even think of it as a horror movie, but rather as a comedy tribute to 50's horror films with a modern (for the 80s) sensibiity.
This is one of my guilty pleasure flicks from the 80's. Thanks for doing a reaction to it. The blu-ray also has the option to view the alternative ending. ...which I think was the original ending when I saw it on it's theatrical release. at least I think,..it was a long time ago. ..Near Dark, ...is another good little film from the 80's. It's directed by Kathryn Bigelow before she made it big with movies like, Point Break, The Hurt Locker, and Zero Dark Thirty. For your consideration, I would also recommend another 80's guilty pleasure,..Vamp(1986). It's a vampire flick with horror and comedy elements starring some familiar 80's actors.
This movie is such an underrated horror gem. I love the nods to both sci-fi and horror. The director’s next movie ‘The Monster Squad’ is great fun too, if you haven’t seen it already.

Also, since comments are low, these are just some suggestions I don't normally see people do(or ones I don't see on your guys' channel):
Tales from the Darkside: the Movie
The Gate
Dr. Giggles
The Devonsville Terror
Troll I & II {Troll 2 won an award for being the worst movie, lol, It's utterly hilarious.}
Student Bodies
Stay Tuned
People Under the Stairs
Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight
The Phantoms
Sleepstalker
Prince of Darkness
Ghost in the Machine
Popcorn ('91)
Warlock ('89)
Pumpkinhead
The Goonies
Night Breed
The Lost Boys
Lord of Illusions
Bram Stoker's Dracula
I often use the phrase "screaming like banshee" in everyday conversation and the people that get it are few and far between.
… this and Night of the Comet make a perfect double-feature -
Great choice. Another is the original Return of the Living Dead.
'Neon Maniacs', 'Brain Damage', 'Maniac Cop', 'Basket Case', 'Frankenhooker'
Try slither it took a lot from this but it’s pretty fun and a lot of laughs due to James gunns script
THE MONSTER SQUAD......
Nice. Good movie. Hope you have Night of the Comet on the list of sci-fi/horror list.
The movie Slither was inspired by this. I really enjoy the quirky movies. The 80s man was awesome. Heard about this movie around the time I was asked to watch Prom Night, Terror Train, Slaughter High, etc
This movie is SO MUCH FUN. I love it.
I would highly recommend From Beyond. It's other H.P. Lovecraft adapted movie. And this was definitely a 10/10:)
Zombie movies to watch... The Children (1980) Return of the Living Dead (1985)
Yes! Return of the Living Dead is one of the best zombie movies ever, and the soundtrack is punk rock heaven.
the children 2008 is a great film too
This one got me into campy horror back in the day. The natural next one to watch is Killer Klowns from Outer Space.
I remember renting this movie on VHS as a kid. Creeped me out back then. Still creeps me out. You guys should check out Slither. You could do a comparison between the 2 films. Slither was the first movie directed by James Gunn. He went on to make Guardians of the Galaxy. Cheers!
The lead actor, the redhead, is actress Blake Livley's half brother...
Tom's first father's day is coming up so that I don't forget happy father's day to Tom 🍻
A horror movie that you haven’t done is Phantasm and it does have a sequel
I f’ing love this film. Great video mates.
Thanks for the video!! See you later!! Stay safe.
-Frances-1982.
-Mommie Dearest-1981.
-The Kindred-1987.
-Nothing but trouble-1988.
Love these guys man they are the best. Have missed them. Keep it up yah, have a good night 🌷🥀🌸
